    Hi Alex, I had the same beautiful results with AK's Extreme Metal! They are really fantastic metalizer's, just as the wax based "TRUE METAL" metalizer's from AK which you told me about and i tried with stunning results. Thanks for telling more people about the EXTREME METAL metalizer's as well. I highly recommend them both for fantastic results, as well as ease of use on both products. hope your well my friend, God Bless and all the best.

    Alex, I can tell by your video you were so impressed that you had to share what you discovered in this product.
    I have been a Alclad fan but this looks to be much more durable and less hassle to work with. Did see in another video where they highly recommend the Black primmer from AK as a base.
    Thanks for sharing!!! Guess I'll be buying some soon as I need more metal paints.

    I'm so getting these ASAP! I have a whole stack of Century series fighters and MiGs to build in bare metal finish!
    I don't know if you've seen it, but AK just came out with a clear coat for the Extreme metals. It's call Shine Enhancer,
    for sealing in the decals and protecting the metal finish.
    Flory models did a video on the clear a week or so ago.

    Alex. Algumas dúvidas aqui.
    1- Xtreme metal ja vem diluida e pronto p uso? E qual seria seu diluente caso queira diluir um pouco mais ou mesmo p limpar o aerógrafo?
    2- estou tendo alguns problemas de formação de olhos de peixe com preto semi brilho e problema com vernizes tanto fosco como brilhante da AK. O que vc recomenda?

    Hi Alex. just going back and looking at your reviews. Do you recommend the polished aluminum for aircraft or just the regular aluminum? Also, I know you use Tamiya clear. Does this impact the shine? Love your videos! Drew

    • @AlexModeling
      @AlexModeling  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      For aluminium i use regular color... but if i want extra shine... your decision...my experience is that Tamyia Clear is great... but if you use a clear the same comoany the metal color... they usualy are made to give that extra shine!! Thank you mate!

    Hey Alex,
    As usual, GREAT video. I was just wondering if you've used Alclads before and if you have how would you compare these paints to Alclads, for example Aluminum to Aluminum and so on.
    I'm also wondering how they compare price wise. Alclads can run expensive as you probably know.
    Thanks again Joe Mays

    • @AlexModeling
      @AlexModeling  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      hua brother! ALCLAD is great... having said this.... its always more expensive... and toxic... resultas are as good as xtreme metal and AK also has a clear cote for it like alclad and also cheaper... RANGERS LEAD THE WAY BROTHER! ALL THE WAY!!

    Alex, do you feel de need to prime before? I'm asking because I'm building a Mig-21PF, and painted the nozzle ring with if I racall gun metal or steel xtreme metal over bare plastic, and while handling the rest of the model to add some other parts, the paint came off :(

      +Bruno Lopes ola Bruno! Estou a falar Português porque deduzo que o és pelo nome. Se me enganei diz me que respondo em inglês. Eu fiz um video onde uso as tintas xtreme metal diretamente no plastico sem primário... e elas são boas... no entanto aconselho sempre a ussr primário... o mal destas gamas de tintas é q elasnquase q t obrigam a usar ou o primario delas ou neste caso... o Preto brilhante deles q ajuda a contrastar com o metal... sim Bruno eu aconselho o primario... e nas tintas deixa curar bem... no video fiz o teste e passou ou seja usei minutos depois fita da tamyia e não descolou a tinta... mas as vezes isso pode acontecer... abraço

      +Bruno Lopes o black base amigo.. e sim.. até o Plasmo que é o mestre que é teve problemas no mig 17 dele 1/72... teve de refazer a pontura toda... eu tenho a gama toda... mas mesmo assim as vezes... abraço

      @brunolopes9900 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Obrigado pela resposta. Vi o gajo da Florymodels, mas aplicando o black base por cima de um primario cinza. a AK aconselha que se aplique para o cromado e aluminio polido. Mas aplicarias como base para todas?

    • @AlexModeling
      @AlexModeling  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Bruno Lopes para todas não. Usava mais o conselho do flory. Se usares por cima de um primario é melhor... ou então o microfiller e primario da MESMA gama... la esta. .. hoje em dia se usas um. Tens de usar dos deles... enfim

    Me and lot's of people have problems with those paints...they look great but they are not so resistant...even with odorless thinner you will remove the paint so it's not true what AK is telling about it (that you don't need to varnish it and you can soak it in mineral spirits 😀).

    • @argento1111
      @argento1111 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      dude... these paints are enamels... of course you will damage the paintwork with “odorless thinners”. Most washes aphave enamel thinners so you will damage it with them too. Its always recommended to seal the metal finish with an acrylic varnish if you are thinking about applying a wash.

The eclipse was supposed to be so great but it clogs, is a pain to clean and it always seems to sputter, even when I just plug the evo in an go straight from the bottle even on acrylic primers. Love the evo, never move to the eclipse, not worth it and you lose the removable cup.

  • @Glicksman1
    @Glicksman1 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm certain that these paints are great. The problem is with the medium used to apply them. Airbrushing is magic and produces results like nothing else can, but is highly dangerous to your eyes and respiratory system, especially your lungs. Unless your painting area is very well ventilated, and I don't mean just a fan or such, but a professional suction system that eliminates and expels 95% of the spray, you are putting yourself in great danger by airbrushing in a confined space.
    Chemical pigments which contain actual metal particles are far more potentially dangerous than acrylic colours and such, and requite even more diligent and careful ventilation.
    I have a good airbrush, etc. but I use it very sparingly, if at all now because of this. A good -looking model is not worth your health.
    We all know that modeling is a fun and satisfying hobby, however, engaging in it should not endanger us.

    • @AlexModeling
      @AlexModeling  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! You are indeed right

    • @Glicksman1
      @Glicksman1 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@AlexModeling I stopped using metal and metallic lacquer paints a while ago. If I need something to look like aluminum, I may use some brushed on Tamiya acrylic "Aluminum." It can be mixed/blended with other colours and it looks just fine with no added hazard. When I want the look of a large aluminum surface, I apply real aluminum (Reynolds) and no longer paint it on. When I don't screw it up, it looks better that way, anyway.
      Hey, these are just models. I love them, but I'd like to enjoy my grandchildren a while while longer, you know.
