UPDATE: I am still practicing my wheelies. I have upgraded to a hardtail and it works so much better at wheelies I can almost stay up for long just need to use the brakes and I’ll be good!

Might be practice on timing but no matter how much times I try I fail. Whenever pulling the bike and pushing down on the pedal it goes up a centimetre then pops down, I use a marlin 5 2018 any tips?
Pull up just a tad before pushing down on the pedal. Look at where the axle is in your back wheel and think that you have to have the majority of your body weight directly on or over it, otherwise, it's impossible for the bike to lean back. Give a minute to think about the physics involved in the move.

I feel "PULLING UP" sends people down the wrong path. Wheelies come up when you push away from the bars first and then throw your shoulders back
