Is Plymouth's architecture worth saving?

During the Second World War German bombers almost completely destroyed Plymouth city centre.
In 1943, and before the war was even over, Lord Astor, the Lord Mayor, appointed Patrick Abercrombie, the most distinguished town planner of the day, to design a new city.
