Yeah he's cool for sure. But he seriously still goes to the gym on New Year's Day? Being committed is great, but what's the point of working out so much if you never use it for anything other than more working out?
I liked Mikami's inclusion because Mikami seems like the type of character that the writers would have made the main protagonist if they wanted Kira to start sympathetic. They however specifically chose Light as Kira due to his lack of tragedy. Everything is perfectly fine in Light's life, Light is popular, smart, healthy and lives in a happy household with good parents. When Light kills, he's not doing so to avenge some deep tragedy (Unlike the terrible Netflix adaption), but instead Light is motivated by curiosity, boredom, ego, and lack of empathy.
I believe this is the most I've seen Anna cringe in the history of the channel. You could see she just couldn't stand Light manipulating yet another woman so perfectly without any resistance.

Yeah Mikami made the deal with eyes without question so he can bring about justice. Both Mikami and Takada are really intelligent. Takada was a mature women with good thinking and Mikami was so smart with great thinking since he devoted so much in school. Mikami wants to be the hand of Kira and Takada the voice of Kira.
He was thankful that his mom died... wtf 🙃 he made it sound like he loved his mother and that his only gripe with her was her asking him to tone it down a bit so he didn't get himself beat to death, and that one disagreement was enough for him to wish her dead. That's some sociopathic behavior this man is an enigma 🤔

Nah. Mikami as a kid was heartbroken over her death. He morphed his messed up sense of justice based on that tragic event. She didn't agree with his sense of justice, so therefore she was *fated* to die in his eyes. He coped with it by justifying those events. Mikami had the idea that everything in his life was fated when in reality, it wasn't. That's why the name of his backstory chapter in the manga is "coincidence".
