HI, You're a damn fine steel fabricator and designer. Great that you improved your own original design, that was already about the best DIY one I've seen. Excellent!
Hi Mladen I am currently making a 25 briquette press based on your design. I've just finished making the 5x5 grid frame. I have used much thinner plate 4mm for the outside of the frame, then internally 4 x3mm and then 20x2mm to complete the chambers.....lots of welding. Just started on making the plungers. I was going to use the overhead compression method, but your new design has changed my mind and I will locate the jack underneath. This method also has the advantage that you do not have to load the plunger frame each time, as it is now permanently located on top of the jack. I have tried a number of designs and methods for making the briquettes. The best method to ensuring a consistently sized briquette with minimal water content is by the use of a jack, I currently use a 6 ton one. I have tried using the cheap briquette makers from ebay, but the metal is very thin and 'bow' if any pressure is put on them. I normally do a hand-squeeze of the paper mush before I load into my existing maker, this gives a much denser briquette. I have also tried adding leaves, but with little success. Your design is excellent and I will keep in touch as I continue to fabricate my 25 briquette press.
Alan Palin yes my friend it is a lot of welding, but i am sure there is no fastest hand press on youtube, this press save me lot off time, all that hard work and effort will pay you off,as long as you make this press for home use is ok,i am trying to patent this design,so greetings from Croatia and i wish you make many briquettes
Bok Mladen, AP here again. Just an update of my construction of the 25 press following your design. Finished the making the 25 pistons and welded the first 5 to a cross-bar, much grinding and finishing to get all 5 pistons to enter chambers correctly. Then decided to use my arc welder to put a few extra weld seams in, which threw everything out!! Sranje !! With the much thinner plate I am using, heat distortion is always going to be a problem. Živjeli Alan
OwdJockey yes my friend it is hard to make that press, with pistons i have same problem,if you use 2 or 5 no problem, but 25 pistons man thats hard to align to each chamber, but when my press was finished i forgot all hard work and i enjoy working with it
hey man well done job previous press, without painting is better to use , adding to it a hydraulic actuator for down and upward motion for the press .... for this one it's amazing, but when u are pressing, the water still on top, which makes the briquette wet again..... and for wood dust, you may mix the glue with water ,it will stick together when dry and it will burns smoothly .... but in general... you did a great job ....
The construction and manufacture is very very good ! I think that your mixture is far too wet at start of process. The quickest video I have ever seen is where the whole newspaper are soaked for 12 hours and the then torn into 3 strips and each rolled up before being squeezed ( one whole newspaper = 3 brickettes) It was very very quick - you should do more experiment with the paper before squeezing. Great video Thank you
RedRocketsGlare thank you my friend,i do not pressing only paper,i mix paper with sawdust so it can burn longer it give me more heat, mixture has to be wett so it can be well pressed and paper serve me to stick together sawdust and newspaper, and i dont have to wait 12 hours for soaked paper, you can see how i prepare paper for my mixture in one of my videos, again i do acknowledge your suggestion and greetings from Croatia....
Install the vibrator on the table for easy scattering mass, and remodels the mold. You need the holes in briquettes for easy drying and better burning.
I have fastest briquette dryer in world, hope you saw that,500-600 briquettes at once with sawdust stove, there is not much difference if briquett has hole or not, best way is that i am using now,put the mixture on press and spread around chambers,i am making briquettes for many years and i know all best ways to do it,greetings
Hi, i like your original thinking. while pressing from below was seemingly reliable for you, pushing from top down is better such that the base plate is perforated with very tiny holes. the water will just run down by gravity instead of waiting for the water to dry up when using the above design which essentially returns back in (sips back in). This is borrowed from the interlocking blocks pressing machines which often presses down. Good luck
+eric sunda maybe the press down is better but i got more work,i have to remove pistons and it is hard to catch briquettes under the press,on this press i don`t have to do that,it is much easy to work and easy to remove the briquettes, each press has something god, thnx for your comment,i send you big greetings from Croatia
maybe the ideal arrangement is like a waffle iron. load it up, press from the top so the water drains, then flip it over (the entire press mounted on a fixed swivel) and remove the bricks from the top!
Very well designed and fabricated. I guess I missed an earlier video showing what materials the briquettes are made of. I presume it is sawdust with a glue like binder....?
There is no glue in briquettes, paper hold briquette in place not to fall appart,so first you need to make mixture of news paper and cardboard and than you mix sawdust
Super press. This is probably the best you have built so far but the others are good too. I am going to have to built a solar dehydrator to dry briquettes because they take a long time to dry here in Ireland. i have lots of Coca Cola cans collected up so I hope to get started in Spring time. Best Wishes, Brendan.
I imagine most of the water you’re pressing out is coming from the top. Just a thought but perhaps you can add a rotating function to your press. Once you have loaded your press, you can spin it around, lock it in place and begin pressing. That way, I would think more water will be evacuated coming out from the bottom versus spilling from the top and over the edges.
Check my older version of that press and you will see there is no difference, amount of water that you will get out depends on preasure that you apply,80% of water is going out and the rest is easy to dry,you will never close to 5-10% water out than you have to apply very big preasure and frame also need to be stronger, all that will cost to much, many have try to copy that press but they can't,if i have money i will build briquette pres for 100 briquettes at once, for now this press works fantastic,on one year we make 10-15000 briquettes, greetings from Croatia
Hi, i don't have papper and i want to make the mix with sawdust and shreded branches, it is a problem? There is one optimal presure to press the briquetes? Thank you for your answer.
Attila Tasnadi without paper it will be hard to make briquettes, paper holds all togeather without paper it will fall apart, for you it will be better to use woodchipper like mine th-cam.com/video/xf5GUgnvRNA/w-d-xo.html and burner like this th-cam.com/video/94J_7DlcaZs/w-d-xo.html
I'm going to use my everlast welder to make a briquette maker. I think one thing I would want to improve on this design is how to unclamp the top faster.
I'd like to see an extrusion machine.. that produces a log (maybe a hollow-log with a central mandrel to help push out the water) rather than blocks. That way, you can do a continuous feed and cut it off to desired lengths.
+Mladen “simple is better” 365 I'll watch it. I did find that extrusion machines exist, very similar to what I described. they use a screw drive hopper. also, have you tried adding a few drops of used motor oil to the slurry? I bet that would greatly increase the great output.
Great Job. Have you tried to offset your level slightly to speed up the draining off of the water? I like that you reclaim the water. I also like the John Deere green color although I am partial to Cat Yellow.
I like it but wish the briquette could end up 12 to 18 inches long like logs for a wood stove. and is there any way that you could use the power take off from your tractor to compress them?
Nice press try to put an Air bag from truck to press its more faster then manual jack the truck airbag that i have works at maximum peak air pressure 8.5bar i dont recomand to inflate so much i worck around 6-7bar maximum good job
how many of these does it take to heat the house during the winter when the temperature are 20 below zero for months . Where he paste is coming from and what is made made of ? Thanks from Canada
+Robert Patoine i don`t make enaugh briquettes to burn just them,i mix them with wood, briquettes burn very well,i put them a lot at night to extend the heat,to make briquettes you have to make mixture of sawdust, cardboard, newspaper and water
Good job - you've saved me many hours and prototypes trying to reinvent something. I need it for chainsaw shavings and water so keen to see how it works. Does anyone have a view on how long (on average) the briquettes take to dry out? Obviously it depends on the ambient temperature, but for example stored in a airy shed in the UK? 🇬🇧
Dario Ampuy for this small briquettes i dont need holes they dry fast,in my other video you can see i put holes for large briquettes i make, that one big briquett replace 6 small briquettes but it takes longer to dry
No they are not for sale, many of youtubers has made press fir 1,2 or 4 briquettes so i decide to make large one to save time and to show others how to do it,i am still using that press,it is fast, strong and press don't use electric power,my plan is to make one press for 100 briquettes with single press, greeting
It is best to make them at summer, very easy to dry,at winter you need some drying box with stove like i did, when outside temperature is -10- -20 below zero i have +90 in my drying box
I have an idea I saw that the water was still floating on the top of the press why don't you cut a centimetre on two sides of the press it will let the water flow to one side of the press
I have already angeled the press so the water goes to back side of press,it would be easy if i have thick metal strip in one direction but i have in both direction so i have to drill holes, now water flow slow but it is enaugh to drain the water, greetings
Mladen 365 I tried with dried leaves n water. The briquettes did not bind and they broke down. What should i do? What binder should i use and in what proportion
Is there any way you can get sawdust, with leaves is hard to make them,if you can't make with leaves try just with paper, dry grass is also good, but without paper you will not make any briquettes thrust me,i make briquettes for many years,i am now making very big round briquette press,i belive it will be biggest briquette in world with mechanical press, stove will be the same size, briquett will be just for that stove, greeting
No,all my projects are made very simple,i imagine how it has to be and start working without any drawings,it is simple, steel square pipe cut on 10 cm pieces 25 of them and welded together,on top i put plate 50x50 cm,than you need 25 pistons that will press briquettes
I make my projects without drawings,i imagine how it has to look and start building,it works every time, this press is hard to make, you have to align all 25 pistons,i recomend to you to start with something smaller like 4 or 8 briquettes and than go bigger, also you need lot of sawdust, for 400 briquettes i use 4 full bag of sawdust, just get square metal pipe 10x10cm and cut 4 or 8 pieces and weld them together, make pistons that will fit into that pieces and put plate on top, under pistons put car jack, make frame and that is it,greeting
+Slavisa Pajovic budući da imam skoro neograničene količine piljevine za svoje brikete nikad nisam probao niti pokušavao od slame, inače zgodna mašina taj biomasser solo,da nemam piljevine sigurno bih se prebacio nato, nabavio sam ja i malu peletirku 2 kW al ne valja,ne možeš niti travu peletirati, preslaba je a i nekvalitetna, pozdrav
Hello from Romania, Do you think you can send me a plan to build this? We would like to build a few and give it away to a number of orphanage schools here in Romania, so they can produce their own bricketts in this winter.
+Marin P this press is hard to make, everybody who has trie to make it did not get the same briquettes or can't press them,it took me full two weeks to make that press,i suggest you make some smaller press or wait when i upload my wooden 25 briquette press,i just start cutting the wood and when it will be done i will upload,i have different briquette press so maybe you can make one of that press, see on my channel,by
+Mladen “simple is better” 365 Brother, we can ask the help of some specialists, mechanical engineers, welders, etc to assist us if we would have the plans
+Marin P i have no plans for that press, everything i do i do from my head,i just imagine how it has to look like and than i make it,i can give you measurements of that press, the hard parts are chambers and pistons they has to be aligned so the press can work without problem, for the chambers i use 10x10 steel pipe and cut it to 10 cm long pieces,25 of them and welded each chamber together and for pistons i use round steel pipe, and flat steel for pistons,i can measure all and send you if you want,as i say i never use any plans for my projects i just imagine that and make it,by
i would be grateful for any help that you can give me would you mind give me parts etc just ive approached a engineer about you design and he ask me for plans but you do from you head so any help appreciated many thanks
It is fun to work like this,it is good exercise, press is anyway very fast so it is not problem working on this setup,it would be easy with hidraulic but i like this, greeting
One of my first briquette press make round briquettes, five of them on single press,in youtube search for video: 5 round briquettes press, maybe you like it,greeting
+zion karetu Do not ask others about my projects , ask me, I did it and if you want a help with anything I'll be happy to respond , just send me mail , many have tried to make the press but they were not successful , but if you have the will can give you all dimensions
Very good, keep improving it. Also work on different mixtures,eg,sawdust, large cardboard cartons. Also, also what about the thick starch water from the paper can be reduced and used in concrete mix as a plasticisers.( more workable )
I like the new design a lot and I'm really happy you are now saving and reusing the displaced water.
HI, You're a damn fine steel fabricator and designer. Great that you improved your own original design, that was already about the best DIY one I've seen. Excellent!

Brilliant. N such an improvement from the previous, by just flipping the whole design upsidedown to drain,!
Hi Mladen I am currently making a 25 briquette press based on your design. I've just finished making the 5x5 grid frame. Great press and i like the improvements you made. thank you for sharing. Going to build one also. :)
Best homemade briquette press i have seen
This one is much better than previous
One of the best systems I’ve seen so far. Most productive with less effort. Well done guys 👍🏾 what was the build cost?
That press is allot better . Nice job.
I liked your first version more, it seams more industrial stile😂 but this one is also nice engineered👍🏻 great job
Very smart to flip it over. also smart to reuse water!
Thnx,greeting from Croatia
Yep, Baconsoda, he has excelled himself this time...well done Mladen 365.
great improvements!
Fenomenalna izrada svaka cast
Impressive. Keep up the good work!
hey man
well done job
previous press, without painting is better to use , adding to it a hydraulic actuator for down and upward motion for the press ....
for this one it's amazing, but when u are pressing, the water still on top, which makes the briquette wet again.....
and for wood dust, you may mix the glue with water ,it will stick together when dry and it will burns smoothly ....
but in general... you did a great job ....

Very good work out there and thanks for sharing. Can I use the same press for charcoal Briquettes?
Why not,i only make briquettes from sawdust
I'm going to use my everlast welder to make a briquette maker. I think one thing I would want to improve on this design is how to unclamp the top faster.

None, press is perfect as it is,still works without any damage

🇬🇧
Best is to make them in summer or to make drying box like i have,i dry over 500 briquetes and it works perfect
have you tried to make them with sawdust and a little flour as binder? you should try to make an "umbrella" for the jackman so ir doesn't get wet
Dario Ampuy i never use flour to make briquettes, thats why i use paper, jack can be wet so when it will not work i will replace with new one
How long it takes to dry? I saw press that make center holes that help drying and makes better combustion... Will that be your next step?
Dario Ampuy for this small briquettes i dont need holes they dry fast,in my other video you can see i put holes for large briquettes i make, that one big briquett replace 6 small briquettes but it takes longer to dry
What's your mix ratio? Do you leave the mix over night or do you make the briquettes inmediatelly?
Dario Ampuy i always put more sawdust for longer burn, and i press briquettes as soon as i prepare my mix of sawdust and paper
Thanks for sharing.
Very nice!!
Can you use fresh cut sawdust or does it have to be dry
You can use fresh, dry sawdust, you will anyway soak it in water

I have an idea I saw that the water was still floating on the top of the press why don't you cut a centimetre on two sides of the press it will let the water flow to one side of the press
I mean you could shorten 2 legs of the press
I have already angeled the press so the water goes to back side of press,it would be easy if i have thick metal strip in one direction but i have in both direction so i have to drill holes, now water flow slow but it is enaugh to drain the water, greetings
I love it!!!!
What did you use as a binder for the briquettes
Paper
Mladen 365 I tried with dried leaves n water. The briquettes did not bind and they broke down. What should i do? What binder should i use and in what proportion
Is there any way you can get sawdust, with leaves is hard to make them,if you can't make with leaves try just with paper, dry grass is also good, but without paper you will not make any briquettes thrust me,i make briquettes for many years,i am now making very big round briquette press,i belive it will be biggest briquette in world with mechanical press, stove will be the same size, briquett will be just for that stove, greeting
Awesome!!
Thank you,greetings from Croatia
Good morning I am looking for that machine made for me here in the republic of Zambia. Can you.make and export one for me ?
hey friend very good idea, do you have some plans of your machine?
No,all my projects are made very simple,i imagine how it has to be and start working without any drawings,it is simple, steel square pipe cut on 10 cm pieces 25 of them and welded together,on top i put plate 50x50 cm,than you need 25 pistons that will press briquettes
what is the output density and what about the compaction pressure/Force??
Santosh Sharma to press the briquettes i use 5t hidraulic car jack
hi would you mind if ask what size is your chambers thanks great job
Chambers are 10x10
Greetings. Do you have any schematics you could share on building this?
I make my projects without drawings,i imagine how it has to look and start building,it works every time, this press is hard to make, you have to align all 25 pistons,i recomend to you to start with something smaller like 4 or 8 briquettes and than go bigger, also you need lot of sawdust, for 400 briquettes i use 4 full bag of sawdust, just get square metal pipe 10x10cm and cut 4 or 8 pieces and weld them together, make pistons that will fit into that pieces and put plate on top, under pistons put car jack, make frame and that is it,greeting
Innovative
Pozz
+Slavisa Pajovic budući da imam skoro neograničene količine piljevine za svoje brikete nikad nisam probao niti pokušavao od slame, inače zgodna mašina taj biomasser solo,da nemam piljevine sigurno bih se prebacio nato, nabavio sam ja i malu peletirku 2 kW al ne valja,ne možeš niti travu peletirati, preslaba je a i nekvalitetna, pozdrav
what is the dimension of the brick obtained?
10 cm long and 5-7 cm high, all depend on how you make mixture for briquettes, greeting
Hello from Romania,
Do you think you can send me a plan to build this? We would like to build a few and give it away to a number of orphanage schools here in Romania, so they can produce their own bricketts in this winter.
+Marin P this press is hard to make, everybody who has trie to make it did not get the same briquettes or can't press them,it took me full two weeks to make that press,i suggest you make some smaller press or wait when i upload my wooden 25 briquette press,i just start cutting the wood and when it will be done i will upload,i have different briquette press so maybe you can make one of that press, see on my channel,by
+Mladen “simple is better” 365
Brother, we can ask the help of some specialists, mechanical engineers, welders, etc to assist us if we would have the plans
+Marin P i have no plans for that press, everything i do i do from my head,i just imagine how it has to look like and than i make it,i can give you measurements of that press, the hard parts are chambers and pistons they has to be aligned so the press can work without problem, for the chambers i use 10x10 steel pipe and cut it to 10 cm long pieces,25 of them and welded each chamber together and for pistons i use round steel pipe, and flat steel for pistons,i can measure all and send you if you want,as i say i never use any plans for my projects i just imagine that and make it,by
Good Job ! Thank you.
i would be grateful for any help that you can give me would you mind give me parts etc just ive approached a engineer about you design and he ask me for plans but you do from you head so any help appreciated many thanks
how long does each briquette last?
Biggest one can burn more tham 90 min.,this small one burn for 30min
Excellent 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪
PLease make a video with the dimension of the press. I wont to build it but i need the dimensions :) 10X :)
you ever thought about hydraulics? it would be a whole lot easier than using that hand crank, and I'm sure it's not that expensive.
It is fun to work like this,it is good exercise, press is anyway very fast so it is not problem working on this setup,it would be easy with hidraulic but i like this, greeting
ok I can respect that, thank you.
this machine can be found in other shapes???
You can make any shape you want,i made many different briquette press, greeting
greetings sorry :) ,i want the briquette in circular shape its possible???
One of my first briquette press make round briquettes, five of them on single press,in youtube search for video: 5 round briquettes press, maybe you like it,greeting
Can u give me tua pricing of those machines or give me ur e-mail
Me encanta, quisiera comprar
Please send GCv moisture and after burning ash%
Nice 🌹🌲💐🌲🌹💐🌲🌹💐🌲🌹 video
This is so beautiful and I would like to see how I can have it in my Home. Found in Uganda East Africa can you just send me contact?
You can try to make one,it can be made from wood
does any one have the dimensions i can follow to make this please this is a great idea for my family
+zion karetu Hi :-) may I mention you can use your own dimension. As long as the piston fits.
+zion karetu Do not ask others about my projects , ask me, I did it and if you want a help with anything I'll be happy to respond , just send me mail , many have tried to make the press but they were not successful , but if you have the will can give you all dimensions
how long does it take for them to dry out ?
In summer 3 days, now on winter i dry them in my homemade drying bok for 500 briquettes
Very good,keep improving it.
Also work on different mixtures,eg,sawdust, large cardboard cartons.
Also, also what about the thick starch water from the paper can be reduced and used in concrete mix as a plasticisers.( more workable )
recipe?
Go to my channel and videos, and you will see how to prepare mixture for briquettes
the press is John Deere green (sorry American bad joke)
I thought the same ;)
Make a foot pedal for the jack.
You should sell this
+magicianwtf to sell this first i have to get patent and it is very expensive in my country
aaaa a ja mislio za piljevinu
izvini
pazi novine jos i gore ne koristim
u civilizaciju odemo mozda svaka dva meseca
