    Bro I’m glad I found your video. You’re the only person that actually showed anything that was worthwhile.

    This is the only TH-cam video worth watching on Dodge Dakota windshield wiper bushing replacement. Thank you for posting, and including part numbers! I now have information needed to do this job on my truck today

    The first repair on my ‘89 was a wiper linkage bushing a couple years ago. Wipers went out during a freezing rain on the way to Home Depot. It was kind of a pain to get the bushing and I had no way of knowing how to get to it. I got the cowl off with only 1 screwdriver, shut the hood, climbed on top of it and used pliers that barely fit to get the bushing in. It was the one that holds the two arms together on the drivers side. Definitely feeling stupid seeing that with one wrench I could have taken the whole assembly out and did it right. Also feeling stupid because I left those pliers under the cowl for 2 years and found them this summer all rusty. 😂 I made an electrolysis setup a couple months ago with an old phone charger, reconditioned them and started using them again! Gonna open it back up this Spring and grease it up the right way, thank you so much for the first gen Dakota content! It is so hard to find videos like this. I binge watched your playlist all night! 😂

    Thanks for this video! I had to get the wiper arms off to take the cowl off of my 94 Dakota and wasn't using the lock tab to leverage the arm off but thanks to this video it completely helped me on my way to replace my hood hinges...thank you again for this!

    Thank you very much for the video. Will help a lot this weekend to replace them with your instructions here. I've a 96' where mine finally failed. The only thing about this model series, before it changed in '97, that I can warn you about is don't push the truck hard under acceleration. Despite regularly changing the transmission fluid/filter when due my 2d gear is worn and has a long delay to engage from 1st to 2nd. I've since put one bottle of Lucus No-Slip ( temp fix ) and now when the trans is up to temp the problem goes away. However I drive like a Grandpa babying the trans under accel in which pisses people off, but they'll live. You can still get a new crate tranny, and motor block to, for $2500'ish each.

    EXCELLENT!! This was really helpful! I have a 94 Chrysler Town & Country that I couldn't find anything on about the wiper linkage. The 94 Dakota and Town & Country are exactly the same. One potential problem to be aware of is with the bushings. The video content was wonderful. The first set of bushings that I got were not the right ones. The guy at the parts counter got me the "right ones". Here the second set were too big also I was able to trim them down and make them fit. Thanks again. I don't usually subscribe to You Tube channels but I did to this one.

    Genius !!!! Thank you for the video. I am having BOTH of the problems you described in this video. And, now, I will be able to fix both problems without having to take my car to the shop. THANK YOU !!!!!

    Wow, very informative video, especially with the part numbers for the bushings! 👍
    EDIT:
    I finally got around to finishing this job,. and I have to say it's a real pain. I got confused and put the bushings in backwards at least a couple of times.😵🤦‍♂️ A really stupid setup if you ask me.😅

    Hoping you are still around, Followed this video, but I am having one issue (and I know its user error), on the pivot point that has the double bushing (1 passthrough 1 cap style), I got my passthrough all the way down on the pivot arm like you show, and then I get me cap on there as tight as I can, but it justs falls off. The only thing I can think, is that when I pushed the cap style into the linkage for that one, I somehow messed up the diameter of the opening, causing it to be easier to fall off. Any ideas?

    I have the same vehicle but my wipers are stuck halfway on the windshield. It wont go up or down now. Is this video what I need to do to figure out the problem?

    • @ThatCarVlogChannel
      @ThatCarVlogChannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's possible. Mine failed in park position but I guess they could fail in any position. If you hear your wiper motor running but the linkage under the cowl isn't moving then this is probably the video for you

    wow , i just fixed mine afew mouths ago - its like they have a life time - i watch a lot of your videos , iv had mostly same issues that you have had , iv own it about same amount of time also (94 dakota slt 5.2L 5speed 4x4) ..
    just righting this to share what happened to me last week -
    the headlight switch melted/cault on fire - i smelled burning plastic for 1 or 2 days prior - when driving at night - all lights failed on freeway (dark mounting raod- flaims out of left side) - JUst trying to give you a head up- if you start smelling burning / melting plastic out of it, (i did a lot of POwer/auido upgrades at 1st i thought it was one of my addon's but was not -)

      holy crap dude! I hope you're ok and are able to fix it. that's why i changed every light to led and replaced the switch, to lower the power draw thru the switch and try to prevent that from happening. will still keep it in mind though since those switches are still classic bad dodge parts. thanks for the heads up!

    I'm going to look at 94 dodge dakota on Monday for $2500, is that good price and are the parts cheap?

    • @cvaz8330
      @cvaz8330 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it depends of what kind of work is needed just make you inspect the whole frame very careful specially if the truck comes from a place where it snows you know the treatment for snow and ice on roads can do serious damage to under side

    • @ThatCarVlogChannel
      @ThatCarVlogChannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not too bad a price, but yea do make sure it's not all rusted out, especially the frame, the dakotas are notorious for it. Parts are decent, some can be hard or impossible to find, for example I'm doing control arm bushings on mine right now and I'm having to modify lower bushings for a 2nd gen to fit my 1st.

      Lots of people on there that really know 1st gen dakotas

    Info on bushings? I think she said that the arm isn't moving right. She is afraid that she might burn out the motor. She also says that she didn't grease it which I would think might make sense not moving right.

  • @44punisherable

    Stupid how they put all the bushings that you'll never use in one pack and put only two you need minus the one you also need in another pack. Thanks for overthinking it Chrysler and dorman. Now I gotta drive to work in the rain with no wipers because nobody has the one extra bushing as normal and the one that doesn't come in the pack. can't wait to do the brakes
