Mary (Prunella's Mum) once wrote how she would start each day at 6.45am:

The league of Women did not stand alone! This sounds a lot like the YWCA which can trace it's roots back to 1888 30 years after the YMCA was founded. While the YWCA was based on Christian principals, this league was more secular. There were several other organizations dedicated to health, the Kellogg foundation In America comes to mind, that advocated that physical health created a better mental and spiritual health. Today, we continue to push healthy life styles like the natural health food movement. So the League of Women were not a crackpot group, but instead was the beginning of a world wide movement for women's rights and physical health. BTW_all of these groups were against alcohol, and in America this led to prohibition.
