    I am in no way shape or form a fan of President Tinubu or the attorney general of Nigeria but i must commend them on filing a suit to have the federal government transfer local government allocations directly to democratically elected local government chairmen and not to the state governors anymore. Now that the supreme Court has given a judgment in favor of the federal government transferring local government allocations directly to them the Nigerian people can now hold local their local government chairman accountable for the bad untarred streets dilapidated schools and health centers in their various local governments. This is indeed a huge victory for the Nigerian people. Kudos to President Tinubu for this Victory. He has indeed done well on this.

    Geoffrey demonstrated a high level of Nigerian syndrome. He kept talking about how to administer money but completely forgot to worry about the credibility of the man to whom the money was given. Credibility is the key.

    Emilokan rigging election results to be in the office is not the case, but doing the job of the office you rigged election to enter is what matters.

    To me, this prof evidently hear but deliberately deemed it not to listen to the real conversation at hand. Opinions will definitely flow if all we open our heart to is to find negatives from a development.

    • @chidi-lm1tx
      @chidi-lm1tx 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      There is no development there whatsoever. It was a deliberate deflection from Tinubu. He is aware that legitimate local council chairpersons will never emerge.
      Governors will continue to select the council chairpersons. Today, Nwaike was given one of the best ministerial positions because he used Rivers State people's money to rig the election on his behalf.

    The judiciary national assembly and states assembly should have financial autonomy as well so that they could be independent Indeed, in a situation where they're not under control of the government of the day to influence the outcome of judgement and the assemblies would play their roll of oversight check of the government activities

    We should accept the decision of local govt financial autonomy as declared by the supreme Court and the INEC should go ahead and conduct elections in those local government areashould with care taker committees, I don't agree with the Prof.

    This judgement is a proof that when judgement is is pronounced with justice, the nation would widely appreciate it. Even babies unborn are leaping for joy I'm the womb. Unlike the 2023 judgement without justice, where the supposed winners couldn't openly rejoice in shame and guilty conscience, but the supposed loser holds their heads high with pride that his opponent knows what the true position is.

      The guy talked on two points legetimacy of people elected and the manner in which judgement are appointed now would you say both claims are false? If don't clean up the process you just keep going round in circle it is that simple. Yaradua once admitted that the process that brought him were flawed and set in motions process that could lead to reforms

      I do not know where you live but if you have lived anywhere outside of Nigeria surely you would not have made that statement.
      Nigeria is disintegrating before our eyes every day, yet we do not care. You do not care about legitimacy?????? Yet you want to celebrate the outcome of a corrupt Supreme Court judgement that would not see the light of the day.
      The chief of corruption, Tinubu wants to use this nonsense to divert the attention of people from his failing government and you have fallen for it. I am sorry!

      Illegitimacy can never produce legitimacy. All over the world, local council elections are the foundation of development. From there national politicians emanate.

    The producers of this news show must be irked and disappointed by the digressive ramblings of the Professor. The discussion he was brought in for was the judgement on LG financial autonomy, he kept on irritatingly discussing electoral issues. Next time, channels should bring in expert analysts who will stay on the discourse at hand.
