I agree, the effects of Moore's BSG were *Great!* It is clear Moore has been a military pilot, and has seen air battles similar to this, with his own two eyes! And maybe even been through some crashes like this one, himself!

That thumbnail, lol. In all seriousness, that raider scared the frak out of me, and I'm on 4x16 of my 3rd consecutive rewatch. There's a great YT channel called "Passion of the Nerd" & he said that his favorite fiction tends to cover character over plot. I thanked him recently, for explaining why I can watch this show over & over always be shocked, surprised, or forget a plot twist..It's due, in large part, to the characters. (And music.) It's bc even the most ancillary characters end up as the main cast. Thanks for being so frakkin' rewatchable during the worst frakkin' year in ages!!💗
I LOVE the actor who played Crashdown! I have a huge man-crush since he has been on almost all of my favorite TV shows and video games like the Star Wars Unleashed Series and Smallville. Now he just has to join the Star Trek universe and the Arrowverse somehow to complete the Sci-fi and Superhero scene. He's so cool! I wish he could have stayed on BSG longer since I think he was the only officer not from the Galactica or the Pegasus. And since he is from the Triton and I'm so obsessed with the BSG universe I really really really want to see how he survived the Apocalypse. Gosh I wish I was rich, I would pay him to play Crashdown again, animate the Triton in full CGI, and I would show how he became the only survivor and how he emotionally coped with being the only one. Plus, I would create an in-universe explanation to explain what happened to the Mark VII vipers we saw flying with Roslin's original fleet prior to half of them being nuked. I know that in reality it was just an error by the effects department. But wouldn't it be really cool to see those Vipers attach themselves on the ships that were jumping away to Ragnar Anchorage? I think so. Those pilots don't have to be anyone special, hence why they were never shown. They could just be written as other survivors such as Crashdown, this way it doesn't break canon.
Just like the Plan filled in the gaps for the Cylons and tries to connect the earlier dropped plot lines to make the story more coherent, I wish I had the money and connections to do the same for the Colonials.
Don't forget Sam's video voices. I played Days Gone and didn't know he was the main character. I played for a while and knew I recognized the voice then thought "DUH! That's Crashdown!"
Crashdowns best landing, no kidding it takes a hell of a pilot to bring most of the people down alive. Why did'nt the whole fleet jumped to kobol, you know how they allways did it in the show. Also the other raptor had to be ordered to jump back, really?
Because it was a recce / survey mission that did not need the entirety of the fleet. If the entire fleet jumped without any eyes in the area they would have been wiped out. And yes send the other raptor back to save their lives and to let the others know.
That's exactly what Garner did with the Pegasus (jumping with your main ship without doing reconnaissance first). And it got himself and many crew killed, and the Peggy nuked.
Not to be hyper critical but I just noticed how overcrowded those Raptors are. Shouldn’t people be seated during the flight? Why are people sitting on the floor? Is there a real world military equivalent to the Raptors that might explain why people are standing in the cabin during the flight?
Hmm, perhaps. Raptors seem to be the Huey of the fleet. But if you gave hueys the ability to task as a radar ship too. If you been in say a V-22, they are rather small on the inside despite the outside look. So if more people were put in than it has seats, you would have to stand.
The Galactica barely had any equipment left as she was being turned into a museum at the start of the show. Raptors are all they had for missions like this.
lol it's true, ideally I feel like everyone would be strapped in, sitting, and wearing helmets. Though like others said Galactica only had limited equipment and ships and resources, so in some situations they would just have to make do.
Raptors weren't meant for transporting that amount of people, but Galactica wanted that amount of people on Kobol. Pretty obvious why they're a bit crowded.
some scenes in this series looks weird. I mean they coudn't even stay in Raptor during the fall, and of cource pilot coudn't control the raptor when tha glass crashed. Pilot coudn't even breathe
