I am a high school mathematics teacher and I want to settle down in Mauritius. Can you guide me how to get a job in any school or connect me with the right people ?
Bagatelle is great isn't it? The cinema has six screens (I think) and shows films with the original English soundtrack at 6pm daily. Prefer Bagatelle to the Jumbo centre as the traffic at the Phoenix roundabout is often a nightmare!
I like your videos as I'm curious about Mauritius. Appreciate if you could upload more videos about what's the urban life looke like on the island, such as this video showing some malls. Videos about beaches and kitesurfing are numerous but not the ones about the real life of Mauritian people, where they work, where they spend their freetime, how their work places look like ...etc.
Thanks very much for this tip. I will certainly strive to upload more local content. I did recently do a video on Bagatelle and Phoenix mall. More to follow very soon.
Hei, Lucy! May I ask you, as a tourist for 2 weeks which is the recommended currency to have with us? Is it easy and common to pay by card (and then no cash needed)? Thx!
Hello, greeting to you from Malaysia and Singapore. We'll be visiting Mauritius on the coming 1st June, we'll be staying in Flic en flac and Grand River South Eco Tent. May I ask where can I buy souvenir in reasonable price around the area we stay? Thank you.
Hello! There should be souvenir shops in Flic en Flac and on the island ile aux cerfs, otherwise best to go to the market in Port Louis - or any other market on the island for that matter. Good luck and enjoy your stay!
Yes, there are electronic stores that sell games etc. My favourite is 101 multimedia. Try priceguru too and Tony phone. Shops are not open now so you'll have to wait until after the COVID-19 virus disappears. Stay safe.
Hey, that's great news! The best shopping is at a centre called La Croisette, but there are also many great shops along the Grand Baie main road and the motorway too. Good luck with your move. Where are you coming from?
Thank you Lucy, great video, really helpful! Glad I spotted MANGO there 🥰 Could you please tell if they also have SEPHORA? Or which alternative? What lingerie brands are available? Is there intimissimi or team? Will be much grateful 🙏😍
Ideally you need private healthcare here in case something goes very wrong. There are two good private hospitals (Darne and Wellkin) and many public hospitals too. Health care could be better tbh.
I believe that the Seychelles is very unspoilt and has the most stunning white sandy beaches - there are also many islands to chose from, but it is very expensive. Mauritius is still very beautiful and possibly more affordable...also I think it might be more culturally diverse, and also there'll be more things to do. Mauritius is also a better bet if you're coming with children.
@@jedidiahdavid4538 Honestly, I don't know what health care is like in Seychelles...At a guess, I'd imagine that Mauritius has better health care as it's bigger. Sorry I can't be of more help!

@@LucyLeheilleix yes...hehe I'm glad you like it!♡
You're right Bagatelle is the best Shopping Mall and family place to chill in Mauritius!!
It’s great there now too as there’s a new spot called 42 market street which has fabulous food.
Wow, Mauritius is just like home! 😃 (South Africa)
Hi Lisa. There are some similarities, but it’s much safer here.
@@LucyLeheilleix omg. That sounds amazing. 🙂 I've been thinking about leaving SA recently and Mauritius sounds ideal. 👌🏽

Reminds me of Malls in the US & Canada.
Very similar yes. Less choices here though.
Thanks for the info.
Always a pleasure. I'll head up North soon to check out the malls up there.
Hei, Lucy! May I ask you, as a tourist for 2 weeks which is the recommended currency to have with us? Is it easy and common to pay by card (and then no cash needed)? Thx!
Hi Stefania. Most places accept card, and there are cash machines all over the island, so no need for foreign currency.

Thanks so much for watching and for supporting the channel. I certainly intend to make more videos about Mauritius.
Are there any Apple stores in any of the malls?
Apex is the main apple store here and they are in most of the big malls - Bagatelle, Trianon, Super U etc...
Where would you recommend buying perfumes?
In any shopping mall at Mado or the body shop.
Just a quick question about to go on vacation in Mauritians what currency do the malls charge the tourists Mauritian rupee or the US dollar
Hello. Malls are all in Rs. Have a great trip.
Do they have still the Ralph Lauren outlet north west of the island if I remember correctly?
There are a few of those on the island. Not sure if they're fake or not though?
Have you tried Bel Air at Christmas time? I've been told it's the best place to shop at that time of year
Not yet! That I shall add to my list. Thanks for letting me know.
Nice videos!! Can i use them as i am doing a presentation about Mauritius in Canada???
Thanks for watching. Yes, sure you can use them. Be my guest.

Hello thank you are clothes there expensive ?
Hey there! It really depends on the brands. I find things to be slightly more than europe for example - like sports shoes are more expensive.
I’ll be there in 6 months time as resident.
What is the best shopping at Grand Baie area ?

Hi Olga. Yes there’s Mango, but no Zara. A big new mall has opened in Tribeca, but I’m not sure if lingerie brands. You’d have to google it.
I' d like to know about health sytems and healh facilities for migrants.
