You guys should react to OSSC latest video where Koreans compare western gay celebrities to Korean gay celebrities. It shows a clear perspective to how regular Koreans actually views the lgbtq+ community
She spoke nothing but facts throughout. There is severe queer baiting in kpop, kdramas. But also I have seen alot of girls fetishise gay male relationships for sure, especially with BL. Ofcourse not all bl fan fetishes gay relationships but it’s pretty common to the point where it’s concerning
PLS PLS PLS stop calling interactions queer baiting, korean fans have stated multiple times that in korea, friends are just naturally more touchy regardless of gender, that some korean friends even kiss on the lips and it is normal, stop disregarding what people are saying to make your own narrative
@@theblackinsomnia you are making things up, some young boys in the city are like that, majority of them just ignore the fact of considering situations of friends to homosexuality, but they don't kiss, and actually in higschool they are really homofobic. (Personal experience living and going to higschool in korea)
@@ezequielmondada6427 i am korean myself goodbye, at my school boys dont kiss, thats more of the girls, but they do hold hands, and it may be super homophobic here but the culture is different no one looks at you weird for kissing, hugging, and holding hands with someone who they think you are friends with, they dont start being homophobic until they suspect you are more than friends
@@theblackinsomnia then you should know.., you said nothing new, I already said that in less words: "majority of them just ignore the fact of considering situations of friends to homosexuality"; and they do look at you weird for everything specially the adults.
I don’t think ship compilations or shipping in general are inherently bad even if their relationship is implied (key word) but the ones where ppl go to very explicit places with it or try to analyze every aspect of their behaviour in order to prove their own point is just too far but other than that i think it’s fine as long as it doesn’t cross their boundaries too much u just have to be respectful about it
it is unfortunately a very common thing for girls to be the main consumers/demographic for mlm ships bc they fetishize it. it’s typically done in a different way than how men fetishize wlw but it’s still a thing and it’s rlly weird (especially amongst kpop fans smh)
My only problem with this video, is to me you can really say that someones queerbaiting if you dont know there sexuality, also multiple korean fans have told kpop fans that it is normal for korean friends to be super touchy and affectionate regardless of gender but people always ignore those fans and make there own narratives
As a younger female who ‘ships’ members in groups (non-romantic) I was a little surprised that you didn’t know about that particular bit of (often, not always) young girls obsessing & fetishizing (specifically male) gay relationships. Speaking from my own experience, I like watching fluffy, cute, platonic ship videos - but from that you will get recommended the _creepy_ ship videos. I’m talking videos that analysis the _smallest_ eye contact (that was only captured from lowering the video’s speed to 0.25x) as proof that they’re dating. That stuff’s scary. I look forward to part 2 ,and your thoughts :)
i also think with korea being as homophobic as it is, shipping to that extent and trying to prove their sexuality could potentially out them if it is true and if it isn’t it could cause real world consequences for those particular idols. i just think there’s definitely a line there that shouldn’t be crossed.
The Kpop industry has a lot of work to do when it comes to issues like this, and I definitely think it comes from the way Korean society is like she said. They are still very much in the olden days with certain topics yet it’s funny how the industry will monetize them at the same time. I never really thought about idols “laying it on thick” for the cameras when they get touchy because I was always told that was just what they do, especially when it comes to the guys. But it wouldn’t surprise me. Some of the western fans don’t help the situation either. I don’t think fan fiction is inherently wrong because most people see it as just that, fiction and fantasy. But when you start acting like it’s reality and you have whole groups of people shipping others, literally fighting about it, sexualizing real life relationships and being disrespectful to certain artists it’s time to get some help. That’s not normal.
That's wild you reacted to this. I remembered recently how some kpop idol I don't remember his name but he exposed on t*itte* recently within the past few wks that he was targeted by a h*m*pho*ic person and they physically a**lted him and the kpop idol showed photos. I'm glad the person on this video is open minded and just spoke the truth about this issue in general in the kpop Industry. Loved the video

@@theblackinsomnia closeness in boys like you see is more of an idol thing than a regular day to day thing.
