Zhou Shen sang in the Cantonese dialect first & then in Japanese & Mandarin. The Mandarin version is called '夕阳之歌'. You can find the English translation of the lyrics of this 1989 Japanese song 'The Song of Sunset' originally sung by Masahiko Kondo, in a video posted by yt channel 'kuji' on 4 Aug 2019.
To some, " Thousands of Songs" 《千千阙歌》has been a part of many people's fond musical memory for a couple of generations; yet Zhou Shen's tender rendition in Cantonese, Chinese, and Japanese, in May of 2020, not only introduced a classic to those first-time listeners in his generation, but it also created a lasting impression for the generations to come. I really like him singing older songs like this. I'm sure he'll sing covers a lot less in the future because he'd want to sing his own songs more, and a lot of younger listeners probably want to hear newer music too. However, I kinda hate how singer singing covers always seems to be looked down upon, like oh it's not original, the original is already so good, and it means the singer doesn't have their own songs to sing etc. A cover can be a failure but so does original. I don't know why people always feel like there needs to be something new and original all the time so everyone has to work towards that. There's always going to be something new and original, and they are done by the people who want to create something new and original. Not people who feel they should and keep working on it. But really a song is just a song, and a singer like ZhouShen would be a one of a kind even if he was born 2 decades earlier. I like how he sounds like in covers of 80s-90s songs, and I really wish he had done more. I think the singers around his age, he's one of few who also likes old songs like this, and that's why it's rare that a singer this current can sing and old song so tastefully. I mean in a more familiar sense, but at the same time new, because the current singing style is different from it was 3decades ago. ZhouShen and MengHuiYuan is probably the only 2 people who knows how to sing an old song well. But obviously ZhouShen is way more skilled, but MengHuiYuan actually captured the essence well, he singing skill just isn't quite at ZhouShen's level, but in no way bad, just compared to ZhouShen a lot of singers became less skilled by comparison.
Love this song so much and have been waiting so long for an official channel. Thanks for uploading such beautiful song . Zhou Shen sang so well. Bravo !!
The meaning of the Mandarin lyrics seem different from the Cantonese. Not sure the Japanese version. I still like Priscilla Chan’s version of 1989-1990s. Anita Mui’s was also good but Priscilla’s voice was nicer.

周深应该发一个全日语版本，目前的所有日语版本都没有如此有魅力的演绎。一定可以风靡东洋。
