- This was our first time making Shepherd's Pie at home! Some people call it Cottage Pie. Some say the meat has to be lamb but this is ground beef. Shepherd's Pie is an all-in-one meal! I think we will make this delicious Shepherd's Pie again soon!

I live in the UK so shepherd's pie is pretty popular here!
That’s because it’s a British dish.
@@ImperialPowerIf you read how he worded it then your reply is pointless and not needed since it’s already implied that it’s from the UK with the original comment.
You don’t talk to much you talking is the main reason we come to your channel 👍
you don't talk too much pops, just doing your thing making food content entertaining everybody!
In the UK, Shepherd's Pie is made with lamb and Cottage Pie is made with beef. Other than the meat, both dishes are identical.
Good to see your appetite is coming back! Hope you're still recovering well 🙏
Still recovering but I am like a new person
@@CHATTYGRANDPA Good to hear that 😁
This video inspired my dinner today lol you had me craving it for a week after this! Finally made some today. Thanks for the inspiration, awesome video
Looks lovely, Chatty. You're lucky to have such a culinary expert for a wife. Greetings from Sweden!
I will keep her
@@CHATTYGRANDPA😂😂
Since Shepherd's pie is usually made with lamb, a pie with beef should be called Cowboy pie. (Yes, I do know they're called Cottage pies)
This looks really good Trippe! I bet your wife is a great cook
truly IS even though she does not think so
Damn I haven’t watched a video of yours in a long time like 2 weeks ago, But it’s nice that you’ve commented on every one of my comments since I started watching you. I thank you for that!
and hope you will watch more
@@CHATTYGRANDPA I’ll try
I've made a shepards pie before. It's different for sure, but we still enjoyed it.
I really like hearing you talk about the thing you eat before hand ! When you use to read your receipt and experience. It’s one of the best bits! Please believe your viewers
Great video once again sir! I enjoy this particular dish all year round!
Awesome video Mr. Trippe! Hope all is well!
I've only ever had shepard's pie one time, and it was sooo good. I wish there was a nice place around here to get a sherpard's pie.
had homemade shephards pie tonite
I grew up in southern Kentucky and shepherd's pie was always made for special days. We always used ground beef for ours. Thanks for another awesome video. It brought back a lot of memories.
Shepherd's pie is made with lamb
Cottage pie is made with beef
Both delicious!
Cottage Pie is a terrible name. Makes me think I’m gonna eat some paint chips and wall insulation 💀
I’m so glad it’s just all collectively called Shepard’s Pie here.
i hope you enjoyed your meal❤
Always nice to watch your videos!
My mum would always make this for me as a kid! Always a good dinner
wish you weren't pessimistic abt rambling off on random details! i personally like it and always enjoy longer videos ❤
Looked good, I've never had one before!
If using mince beef it's called cottage pie. Shepherds pie is made with lamb or mutton. It's looks yummy.
Great video! Shepherd's pie goes very with gravy.
Another banger video! Loved it. Shepherds pie is great. If you ever come across Mousaka, give it a try. It’s a Greek version with eggplant and potatoes.
Went to a greek restaurant on my birthday 3 years ago and got mousaka.. Been getting that since the 80s. and my wife and mom learned to make it.
We always made it with beef too also it’s one of my favourite dishes for the cheese melted on the mashed potato
Good to see you, Grandpa! I hope that you're doing well.
Great video, thanks for sharing
My Mom made Shepard's pie with ground beef a week ago. It was good 😊
Looks great!
Another great eating video. What’s with the peace out. 😂
Great video! Shephard’s Pie is delicious 🤤
it's like a whole meal
MUCH LOVE GRANDPA❤
and love right bac to you
This is a very famous British dish.
Love me some good old pie 🥧
If it’s lamb is shepherds pie, if it’s beef it’s cottage pie
yes another commenter said that
Hello my fav grampa❤❤
Have a wonderful day 🎉
Same to you
Got me hungry! I know what I'm making for dinner tomorrow now.
Hope you enjoy
have a good day or evening
hoping you have a good rest-of-the-weekend
@@CHATTYGRANDPA i hope you too
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
My husband and children are not fans. I, however, love shepherds pie.
That’s a heavy meal there
If you ordered a shepherd's pie in a restaurant and got beef it would be sent back.
beef is common as lamb here i think
Shepherd's pie is made with lamb or mutton, cottage pie is made with beef, as was mentioned before. Why cottage? The recipe tells to fluff the potatoes up with a fork, and after baking, broiled for a couple mins to brown the top to give the look of a thatched roof, hence cottage..TaaDaa! At least that's what I learned years ago from my cooking days at school and still do it today.
That is the first I heard about how it got the 'cottage' name. From all the discussions, seems like this simple dish is more interpretive than i imagined. .
If you do the google, it says it was a peasant dish from the 18th century who mainly llved in cottages..Hmm, that's maybe another version.. but I believe my old teachers who knew a thing or two, and it's a really cool concept..Who doesn't love a nice wee thatched cottage on their plate. 😋
A Cottage Pie should never have vegetables in it, the Shepherd's Pie should always have vegetables in it, that's pretty much how I define them.
Gotta use lamb :p But as long as it is bursting with flavor I'm sure Gordon Ramsay won't drop-kick you.
what a relief!
Sheppards pie is with lamb cottage pie is with beef
some here are having a discussion about that
How long have you been apart of the LDS? Does it go back deep in your family history?
LDS?
@@CHATTYGRANDPA Latter Day Saints, you mentioned in one of your videos tithing. Which is a practice they do.
Where are you from Trip?
FL-GA
Ever consider getting some dark chocolate you might have to do some research but it can be great for you in moderation
yes i love it but not since i got diabetes
@@CHATTYGRANDPA I believe dark chocolate may be part of a diabetic well balanced diet -- maybe an ounce now and then. Check with your doctor./dietician to make sure of course.
Here comes everyone’s thoughts and unsolicited opinions on ‘Shepard’s pie’ 🤦♂️ to be expected
well i did ask their opinions so that is fine
If you’re not British then don’t talk about it lol
@@ImperialPower I imagine Gordon Ramsey would use lamb in Shepherd's Pie and beef in Cottage Pie. I don't think you'd find corn in Shepherd's Pie. Kinda like Pot Pie which are quite different in PA from the southern cousins. Or chicken and waffles.... chicken in gravy up north, fried with syrup in the south. Regardless, if it tastes good, it doesn't matter what you call it. And you really should not be able to distinguish Worchestershire sauce in the recipe.....
hi. i am waiting for you to continue playing minecraft as well as other brilliant games. you've researched only 0.01% of gaming.
yes there is not enough time to do too much
