    Enjoy your new rod, mate. Teton is quite popular in the UK , the green one 0.3 - 3 grm and your kebab handle one. CDM it's not my world, but I know many guys using the Tetons abd they're all happy with it.

      Hi, thank you. It does give me the taste to add a few more to the collection. I really need to sell off some of the pike gear first though 😁

    I've got about 5 different Kuying Teton rods, I love em

    I found that this rod was too floppy.
    So I sold it and purchased the kuying teton mk2. TTS510.
    The difference between the 2 rods is like night and day.
    The mk2 has a very sensitive tip but has way more backbone for bigger fish.
    And is nowhere near as floppy.
    But that's my opinion of the 2 rods.
    But great video as usual.

      Ok, good to know. I’m coming from using a tsurinoya dexterity which has a very light tip action, but plenty of back. I’ve not had anything over a pound on it yet, I’ll see how it goes. So far so good though 👍

    One of the best tetons is 522 1-3, it is not too floppy like 6ft 1-4 but is not too fast as 510...

      Good deal, I imported the Aldebaran from Japan. That saved me a few pounds and a long wait.

    The mighty kuying Teton I own a couple of these rods can't fault them for the price as good as JDM rods three 4 times the price

      I may well have to invest in another, I’m thinking of one for some canal pike fishing, up the casting weight a bit. Not sure if they do one that’d cover that.

      I’ve tried fluorocarbon straight through once, didn’t work for me at all. I was using 8lb so maybe it was too heavy. 2-10 would be ideal for the jacks around me.

    What do you think of the kastking zephyr reel or could you recommend any budget bfs reels for beginners

    • @reellures2770
      @reellures2770  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I’ve used a couple of different types of BFS reels. The Roxani BF8 was my first, suitable for slightly heavier lures. Current reel is the Shimano Aldebaran, very good for the light weight lures.
      The BF8 was a good starter reel, it handled 3.5gm + lures very well, it’d start to struggle on the ultralight weight range, sub 3gms.
      I do hear a lot of good things about the Darkwolf by Tsurinoya, not sure how the prices stack up.

    Is there any canals in the northwest you could recommend for bfs

    • @reellures2770
      @reellures2770  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi, I really only fish the Lancaster canal, there is plenty of it though. I know a lot of guys who fish the Leeds Liverpool canal and also fish in Manchester as well. If you’ve got a canal system near you I’d just go for it, look for some structure and you’ll most likely find some perch hiding somewhere 👍

      No probs, depending where you’re coming from you could just get the train into deansgate or Oxford road and you’d be straight on the canal.

      I haven’t but it might be worth getting in touch with the owner at www.needhamsst.com. Not sure he’s got that model in stock but he’ll probably have had it.
