Seven years have passed since I came across this video for the first time. I graduated from high school, spent two years in Indonesia, graduated from university, and now travel the world as a professional pole vaulter - and my heart is still touched by this video. Thanks again!
I know it has been a while since this video was posted, but I recently had the chance to meet Marshall McDonald at an institute choir practice. He would be very proud and touched by this performance. May God bless you with all he has in store.
I’m of the opinion that music is just as powerful as the spoken word and this one of my favorite hymns. It evokes a lot of deep thoughts when you hear the music and dwell on the theme. Nicely done.
One of my favorite arrangements by Marshall McDonald. You play it very well. Funny, he came and played in my store a few times when I was a manager at Seagull Book. One time he was playing one of his flowing arrangements when the missionaries walked into the store. Without missing a beat, the song blended into called to serve as they walked past him, then blended right back to the song he was playing. I was VERY impressed. Anyhow, great song and you played it very well.
This is by far the best Hymn! Thank you so much for playing it with love! Even those who don't believe in the Gospel are able to feel the Spirit for sure! It reminds me of my mission and how special it was for me. Thank you!
You performed this beautifully, wrong notes and all, and your performance of it remains my favorite rendition of my favorite hymn. Thank you for sharing! I think I have contributed 100 of the ca. 60k views on this!
This is incredible. Thank you for sharing your testimony of the restored gospel through your amazing talent! Watching this video today has strengthened mine.
You put a lot of feeling in this rendering regardless of your 'wrong notes'. Very nice to just take it in for what it is, a musical prayer. Thank you for sharing.
I enjoyed your playing of this song. You are blessed to play it well enough to give anyone pause and to know it is time well spent. Heavenly Father, I am sure, is pleased.
Thank you for sharing goodness. I am also playing piano but more on simplified. Your work is an inspiration to many of us who desires to be a good pianist. Thanks for posting!
I just listened to the steven nelson version. Then I wanted to hear a solo version and your name showed up while scrolling. I really felt the Spirit while listening. You must know how much of an impact you have by sharing your talents. I really needed this song it's my favorite.
You have a beautiful touch/technique that is so rare. Your dynamics are so controlled, and your rolled chords are perfect. Arpeggios are not over-powering - they really enhance your piece perfectly. So pretty - thanks for sharing!
I love the piano so much it has changed my life forever and this is my favorite hymn to listen to. You play so well I wish their was a tutorial on this song so I could learn it:)
f you could hie to Kolob In the twinkling of an eye, And then continue onward With that same speed to fly, Do you think that you could ever, Through all eternity, Find out the generation Where Gods began to be? 2. Or see the grand beginning, Where space did not extend? Or view the last creation, Where Gods and matter end? Me thinks the Spirit whispers, “No man has found ‘pure space,’ Nor seen the outside curtains, Where nothing has a place.” 3. The works of God continue, And worlds and lives abound; Improvement and progression Have one eternal round. There is no end to matter; There is no end to space; There is no end to spirit; There is no end to race.

You can tell a Mormon is playing this..They are playing it on a Kawai pianner...Try doing it on a Steinway and you ask why. She is using too much pedal. With a Steinway you get better rubato without having to use too much pedal. But all the same this will do.
Thanks for the feedback! Unfortunately, I don't have a lot of access to other pianos, so this had to do! I too realized that I was a little heavy on the pedal, but live and learn!

Sabrina Roberts I'm not being mean. I teach piano. My son is a concert pianist...You have room to grow...just be patient. It will come in time.
Oh I know! :) I am nothing close to a concert pianist, so I genuinely appreciate the good feedback! Thank you!
