We used to make things like this out of plaster of paris when I was a kid. Not as big, not as nice. We used plastic milk jugs or cardboard boxes as formers and then set fires in 'em when we had 'em set to go.

Ashes will quickly overwhelm it with such a tiny ash compartment and no good way to empty it. I think a better design would be make it taller with air intakes all around between footings and open on the bottom. Could make a clay saucer to catch ashes.

My problems with the thing are weight and how do you control the temperature? I think this video is better suited for people who haven't the means to purchase a grill or who live off the grid. I'd just burn sticks in a Weber Kettle to get a coal bed.
@@donmiller2908 Looks like all he's using is sand. Especially with such a fragile material, heat expansion and constriction creates weak points in the finished product. Reinforcement helps to resist this kind of heat induced material exhaustion. Though, eventually it will fall.

If it's really wet and humid, I'd guess at least a week. Better to build one when the forecast is hot and dry; if there's moisture in the cement when you fire it up, the water will try to evaporate...with a bang.

К сожалению армирование(металлический каркас внутри бетона) не защищает от температурных деформаций. Автор ролика всеволишь блогер, а не инженер.
