I'll probably never get out to New Jersey, but I'll tell you, that is some kind of a floor. What an interesting community project, and great use of these poor trees that were killed by the storm!
Since it looks like no one replied to your question, I'll provide my input. I have laid pallet wood flooring before, so I would say a flooring adhesive will work. However keep in mind that some adhesive expand a bit when dried. As seen in the video they sanded the floor to make it flush. But definitely a flooring adhesive will work great. To fill the gaps n the wood any flooring grout will work. Keep in mind I would treat the wood so the grout can be wiped off clean from the wood. Maybe some coats of polyurethane will help. Again you can always use a floor sander after adding the grout. Now for the finishing the floor you can use a polyurethane or epoxy on the floor. Keep in mind the epoxy will take longer to dry and more is involve with mixing it etc. Also make sure the the polyurethane or epoxy used is suited for high traffic areas to lessen the chance of cracks or other damages from furniture.
@@poseyserena02 Thank you very much for your input. Definitely expands my knowledge and makes sense! When I run across a flooring project I may tackle this idea. Thank you again!!
I want to design my small kitchen floor using little wooden chopping boards and I want to know what was the black substance you used to fill the space in between those pieces. Hope you can share it with me. Thanks.
Ese es el sueño q yo quiero de piso ,lo encuentro innovador, creativo, maravilloso. Felicidades por éste lindo proyecto y creatividad.👍👏👏👏👏 quiero uno de esos!!!!
Looks like either PL or liquid nails construction adhesive. She was squirting it on a piece of wood from a caulking gun and applying it to the individual pieces.
I would think epoxy was used. Seemed by the time they used it the wood acclimated and shrunk enough to eliminate most of its moisture content. It also looked like they added a little color to it to identify low spots during sanding. Beautiful floor
Thank you for taking a moment to let me know it was a thickened epoxy application... much appreciated.
Absolutely stunning. My huge pine fell in my yard and I’m going to do this on a patio wall. Greetings from Los angeies
That is absolutely amazingly beautiful!

Amazing work...I'm really inspired now to do my exterior flooring area for the outside kitchen. Thanks for sharing
What exactly is the product that is used to adhere the wood to the floor and the filler in between the pieces?
Beautiful work!!!
That’s what I was thinking. Like it’s a secret or something.

Please tell me what it is if you find it out. 😍
Epoxy resin
Does anyone know what the "special product" used to fill the spaces is?
Que pegamento se usa?
What is the brand name of the epoxy and black tint used to fill in the cracks and spaces.
I think just the nothing but epoxy. Black tint could be just a pigment mixed with epoxy. any color

What especial product??
I have built killings and if you kilndried properly you don’t have any shrinkage it just Hass to be extremely dry
Beautiful!
Thank you
I'm watching a great video
I know epoxy is used to cover the wood disc but what is the material used in between the disc as a filler before it is covered with the epoxy.
Same epoxy (tinted) poured into the cracks and voids. Many brands, some can be poured thicker than others. Careful of heat build up.
What brand of epoxy did you buy to cover the disc and where did you get it.
Don't remember brand, found online
Súper!
What kind of adhesive did you use to glue down the disc. Also did you use the break off screws on the larger pieces or counter sink the screws
What type of laqacka have she used for the floor

waterproof construction adhesive, took screws out after cure.
Loctite Construction adhesive
Counter sunk
Did you put porcelain or epoxy to fill in the spaces between the pieces?
I would think epoxy was used. Seemed by the time they used it the wood acclimated and shrunk enough to eliminate most of its moisture content. It also looked like they added a little color to it to identify low spots during sanding. Beautiful floor
How thick did you make the disc. 3/4" or thicker
7/8" to sand down to 3/4"
Then gotta stack an fillet to let it dry an shrink
A little thicker to account for sanding
Black walnut is like Bluefin Tuna in Tokyo, it is expensive and beautiful.
BRAVOOOOOOOO!!!😘😘😘
9months to do that that..??
what did you use as a filler between the pieces of wood.
2 part epoxy with black tint... thanks for watching

Stodoys comes with very useful plans with all the details you need.
Epoxy resin
Stodoys plans has a very large project base.
"Their names are now permanently embedded into the floor" - then we carefully sanded the whole floor down to get rid of that unsightly graffiti...
Their names were written on the plywood sub-floor...not visible but still there.
Epoxy? Wow that is sad... why? It does not make any sense...
This time I'll use woodprix instructions to make it easy with my own hands.
Spanish please!
