LISA is a once in a lifetime artist that every single label wants to walk through their doors. EVERYTHING she touches she turns to GOLD. Everything she wears is sold out. LISA can not be put into any category because we haven't had anyone like LISA before. I had no idea what K POP was until last year when my country (UK) went into it's first lock down. My daughter was listening to a track by BLACKPINK Boombayah we ended up dancing round the kitchen like idiots. That is my introduction to K POP and for the most part I am not a fan. I like rock music old rock and old rap. Yet LISA snatched a piece of my heart. There is something very special about her for me it is her aura it is pure light. At 14 years of age she left Thailand to go to South Korea after beating three thousand and nine hundred and ninety nine other people at the first auditions for YG in Thailand. Not only did she not speak the language but without her parents, that takes some brass balls to do that, me at 14 was in love with my bed and mother dragging me out of it for school. That shows you how serious she was about her craft and for 5 years she has been hated on by so many people and they can not stop her.

@hwaa Experimental doesn't mean good. Mostly it means that somebody with overblown ego is trying to stand out because he can't compete with others on the even terms. Exceptions are rare in the mainstream music industry. And yeah, Teddy's music is recognizable and pretty same, which doesn't mean it's bad music. I heard some classical musicians are trashing Vivaldi with the pretty same claim, but he is still one of the greatest composers ever, with major influence on Bach and baroque music overall.

Her full real name is Pranpiya Manobal pronounce as Manoban but later changed her name to Lalisa on the advise of a fortune teller that this name will bring her a great luck, but was does Lalisa mean? translation: the one who is praised. but other Blackpink members call her "Limario." Sometimes, she is also called "Lili" or "Lisa". She was born on March 27, 1997 in Anyang City, located in Buriram, Bangkok, Thailand. She is the only child in their family. She grow up comfortably and fame runs in their family because her dad is famous Marco Brushweiler, a renowed master chef in Switzerland and Thailand. Lisa came from a wealthy family (well every BP member do), they own a hospital and culinary school but doesn't mean growing up rich you'll be rich yourself. Our girl manage to take her own path and she auditioned in her home town Thailand for YG Entertainment, one of the Big 3 or the biggest Record Label and Entertainment Company in South Korea. She was the only one who passed the audition beating more than 4000 people who auditioned. Lisa started her training after moving back to Seoul from Thailand. After more than 5 years of training she debuted in August 2016 as the main dancer, lead rapper, and sub vocalist of BLACKPINK.
The American record labels and Korean record labels are completely different. In America, a label will scout you and pick you up as an artist. In Korea, you audition at a company in hope of being a trainee. If you pass and become a trainee, you train for years in sing/rapping and dancing and other things to debut. The company will then decide whether or not they’ll debut you in a group or as a solo artist. You debut with people you’ve been training with or you'll never debut at all. Blackpink started training together since they were 14-15 years old, trained for 4-10 years and they debuted in August 2016. Blackpink when signing contract in their company it states that they are fobidden in 6 things----- drinking, smoking, clubbing, driving, plastic surgery and dating.
The reason why Lisa now has bigger fandom, is that Lisa is one the kind of idol that attracts international fans with her kinda western vibe/swag that mostly kpop idol don't have. And it's okay to love her, to have bias on her or have bias on other member, but please don't spread hate to her or to other members or idols. She is my bias, not bc of her being swag and talented, but because of her huge and genuine heart.
WHY PEOPLE LOVES LISA MORE and MORE:
HER PROFESSIONALISM
she went to Milan for Prada's fashion show. Took a 12 hour flight back to SK, and from SK, took another 4 hour flight to Japan for their last Japan Dome concert that started just a few hours after she landed. But seeing her on stage during that concert you would never guess she just came from a 16 hour flight. Her energy was overflowing. She never ever gave less. And that is not the only time that she had back to back flights between countries to attend a show or interview or conference.
HER PASSION AND DETERMINATION
we may not see it all but even the dance practices of the group and her solo performances she gives 100% effort. Other members said they would train from 12pm-12am, but lisa would stay up until 3-4am to train. She keep herself grounded--with the amount of fame she is getting right now from all over the world, she remains humble. She doesn't think of herself as a big celeb. You would see her eat street foods, or stop by a small store at the sidewalk to eat ice cream, hang out with her childhood friends. She still does what normal people do. The first thing she post on her IG after attending fashion show is guess what? Her cats. It's her birthday, and what did she post on her IG story? Her cats. At the Elle mag interview, she said she feels happy rather than realizing popularity.
SHE'S GRATEFUL and APPRECIATIVE
if you didn't know, Lisa has the richest fans. Like really really rich. One fan spent hundred thousand of dollars for a birthday led ad on 9 Buildings in 9 cities in 9 days. She get the most expensive things during a fanmeet. But you know what, regardless of the price, Lisa would still jump for joy getting gifts from fans. There's no gift too grand or too simple for her (Unfortunately, on October 2021 YG Entertainment post a letter saying that Blackpink would never accept gifts from fans only written letters, BP want their fans to use their money for good cause and to people who needs help, like a donation or charity).
HER and BLACKPINK MEMBERS GENUINE HEART
Blackpink donated 40M KRW (33,580 USD) or 10M KRW (8,395 USD) each to the victims of fire in South Korea. In Dec 2018 they were awarded prize money of 20M KRW (16,790 USD) by Elle Styles Awards, but being angels they are they donated the amount to low-income and another 20M KRW to single-parent household in South Korea. Lisa donated 200K baht (5,975 USD) to the victims of flood in Thailand she donated it quitely without any attention of media but the people around her can't hide how lisa was so kind and later reveal it. She was scammed by her manager for about 1B won or (842,125 USD) but she didnt want anyone to know, to not worry and at the that time they're going to have their comeback so she keep it and settle it privately. She created a TH-cam channel as a way to give back to her fans and pay the filming, clothes, materials and choreographer with her own money without any help from the company. Recently, YG released a limited Lisa photobook which was designed and curated by Lisa herself. Only 10,327 copies were available and all copies were sold out within 10 minutes of release.
Her inspiring story--every Lisa fan knows her story. How she left the comforts of her home back in Thailand at a very young age to seek her dreams from a place that's completely strange to her.
