- Last year I had to make a fantasy creature for an assignment. It needed to have reasons for all of its features (for example, why does it have a poofy mane?)

Habitat: Rainforest canopy and lower

Predators: Venomous snakes, occasionally jaguars and pumas

Blue tail-tip for attracting curious prey
Spines for defence against larger animals (the ones on the tail can be hit against thin tree branches to break the branch)
Dappled and speckled fur for camoflage
Thick mane protects the neck from injuries (from falls or fights)
Strong back legs for leaping and climbing
Thin inner ear fur because of the intense Rainforest heat

Extremely good hearing in adrenaline moments
Camouflage into surroundings by changing fur colour at will (eyes and blue fur stay visible)
Ankles can rotate 180° to climb headfirst down trees
