Their own groove is the embodiment of their personality as a band, and thats what they need to showcase. By recording the synth tracks first (which are probably computer programmed to be accurate to the microsecond) they are basically slaves to the computer. And it robs their music of that crucial human touch. We want to hear THEM play. Their groove. Their mistakes. Their character. How they fill up that space with their music. No one wants to hear 3 kids hiding behind a pre programmed backing track. And "biglaan nawalan ng member" as an excuse... Dude that was so long ago. Like i said, magaling sila. A 3 piece band can still sound great.
