I love this video! Thank you for making this 😊. (It's really appreciated to have a full walk through of all the sounds, especially for people like me who like to play all the genres and need a guitar that can do it all 😉).
Thanks a lot! Yep, I always try and do as many musical styles as I can in these vids: it showcases the versatility of the guitar/pedal/amp better, and also there should be something that appeals to almost anyone's musical taste! Even more so if you flit between many genres, as you and I clearly do ;) Cheers and rock on!
Thanks for the review Rich! I have been eyeing the harmonies for a while and you had a really thorough run thru. I especially appreciate that you spoke about build quality. most reviews just talk sound w/o mention of quality & feel.

My thanks as ever! I am catching up with comments I missed while at NAMM now... there's a lot ;) But these gold foils are particularly cool for me because they also happen top be mini humbuckers. They seem to sing for everything I do!
That's a truly lovely guitar, shame they stopped offering it. I think most flame finishes are overdone and tend toward the tacky but that one is gorgeous, just the right amount of paint depth vs transparency. And I love offsets, mini humbuckers (my SG has them), and gold foils. Really nice to see modern versions of the old Harmony models which were really cool but not really well-built. Sounds great too.
Yes, I agree - this is flame done tastefully! Just some subtle bling that really works well as an overall aesthetic and doesn't detract from the traditional elements of the guitar. I wish more guitars came with mini humbuckers... they have something special about them for sure! Here's hopinh Harmony extends the range and brings models like this back in future :)
Thanks a lot! Yeah, this is a lovely guitar. That riff catches a lot of people... it's not mine, though. I adapted it from a song by Jetplane Landing (amazing band, by the way!) called The Boy You Love To Hate: th-cam.com/video/WoM-vqcPzSQ/w-d-xo.html
The pickups use gold foil for appearance but the Silhouette does not use the old DeArmond made real Gold Foils which is a unique design with the wire wrapped flat around a small flat bar magnet and its cover acts as casing to hold it together. Real Gold Foils can be glued to the top of a guitar they do not need routing as they are very shallow. The Silhouette PU's are literally absolute killer Gibson Firebird style PU's wound on the reconditioned original string winders they found sitting off in the corner when they renovated the Kalamazoo building just a few years ago. Firebird PU's ARE not designed like Mini Humbucker's. Firebirds use two blade magnets one right inside the coil bobbins sitting on its side. A Mini HB has a single magnet laying under the pair of bobbins. Mini HB do not have the highs that the Firebird can produce. Firebird blade magnets pick up very similar to the 6 separate slug shaped magnets in a Strat. ..... It is one killer guitar. I can not find any lint to pick on it.
That's so funny... I genuinely wasn't aware of that song until this comment, and thought I hadn't heard it before... but I certainly recognize those chords! Amazing. And what a great song too! Thanks for the spot :)
I don't understand the fascination with goldfoil tbh. It's one of those things that are overhyped that everybody started saying it sounds good, i doesn't sound that good
It is funny how things like this can suddenly become hyped up for a time. I for one think they're really cool, but for me it's these mini humbuckers that are really something - I wish more builders used mini hums in guitars.

I'm sold with the Kings of Leon riff. That's the sound I need
This guitar is perfect for that kind of stuff! Hope you get to try one soon :)
Gold foil pickups have always fascinated me with low output and great upper end harmonics. Cool guitar sir nice riffage as always Sir.
My thanks as ever! I am catching up with comments I missed while at NAMM now... there's a lot ;) But these gold foils are particularly cool for me because they also happen top be mini humbuckers. They seem to sing for everything I do!
@@RichWordsMusic very cool

Amazing guitar. What sold me was the Fat Indie rhythm chord progression. Is that something you made up or is that a song?

Sounds like you slid a little steppenwolf magic carpet Ride in there 😂
