- It's 73BC and Spartacus was recently taken prisoner by the Roman empire. Because of his military background, he was forced to fight in the arenas as a gladiator. In this Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord series, I'll be playing as Spartacus and recruiting fellow gladiators (Some of you - taken from TH-cam comments) in order to fight for our freedom!

Yeah I usually spend about 20 hours or so getting a campaign like this setup and researched (finding and testing mods, getting the history right, etc) and then another 40-60 hours to play through the whole campaign.
I’ve seen fully edited video essays that are 11 hours long

It's pretty incredible to think about! Especially considering he was on the losing side and his story survived

@@Strat-Guidescould also try a best of both worlds type of thing, upload the playthrough in individual episodes and then have a compilation episode at the end of each chapter. I like both formats

It's the same format as my previous let's plays, so there are natural breaks with timestamps! You're welcome to watch it all in one go, but I did break them up into episodes since that's easier for most people :)

Gosh this mod looks absolutely beautiful, It's clearly a labor of of love. The immersion with the uniforms, and colors being so bright and vibrant really brings to life the battlefields of the time period. Combining this mod with RBM for a Spartacus campaign is SUCH a cool idea Strat.
The inclusion of characters I saw created, and explained in the survey is absolutely awesome too hahaha keep up the great work!!

My recommendation is noting the number of episodes within the video title, I’d missed the message earlier explaining that this is a compilation so others may as well. Had thought it was a 1-shot, rather than your episodic bannerlord videos, which is why I’d skipped over it the first time. Hope the new format works out for you (I’m happy either way) and keep up the good work 😄
Thrusting is generally good in RBM, couple that with Eagle Risings thrusting swords and you have something surprisingly effective and fun. Short swords are normally not fun in bannerlord, but when you force them to thrust it's great fun.

Very nice way to start a Saturday! That map mod looks crazy good.
It's such a different feel when you're on a real map! The design is pretty good too - a couple parts are kind of annoying to deal with, but it's probably a lot more realistic (like rivers that you can't pass so you have to go a full day south to get to a bridge, etc.)
feels like im missing a session 0 video where you explain the concept, backstory, character build and goals. I love those sorts of videos. Really looking forward to this one though, its awesome so far.

Sadly the viewership dropped drastically with Wartales the last couple of weeks so I pushed Spartacus up sooner to hopefully pick the channel back up. If the new format doesn't work, I'll move the Let's Plays back to the 2nd channel so I don't have to worry about metrics and can just finish projects without having to worry about that kind of stuff. So far, the video is doing well, but I'll need to get a lot more data and run a poll to see if people prefer the single video with multiple episodes in it or one episode per day.
So, you dont fight in Valdian tournaments enough. That bill is a common weapon in them in the base game. It is used more like a twohander than a polearm. Hope that helps in future videos.
Very happy to see Quintus Sertorius made it in there. Quite enjoyed this, didn't realise RBM worked with Eagle Rising. May have to give it a shot myself.

Episode 3: disappointing performance from Artorius, few to no kills, seems to be shying from battle...
Episode 4: started off similar to E3, did well in some battles. Happy with his learning of how to throw!
Episode 5: Consistent with 2/3 kills per battle. nothing special, but did manage to nick Strat's new shield!

This is an awesome premise and a great mod.
I've done a campaign on this map and one of the things i noticed quickly is that it has lots of natural chokes. Depending on the situation this can feel very good or bad.

Loving the story behind this one so far. I do prefer the other method of distributing content in the 30m episodes though, way easier to find the videos after the fact as I generally watch them in 30m stint while tredmilling, but whichever format works best for you man.
This really makes me want to reinstall bannerlord, but I’m still so horrid at melee combat lol
Okay thanks for the feedback! I'm going to do a poll this week to see how everyone feels about the format. I'm considering moving let's plays back to the 2nd channel, by need a little more time to see the date to make sure. It's no different for me to be honest, I edit them all the exact same and uploading 10 videos isn't much more work than uploading one with a ton of time stamps etc.
Loved the video! 1 point of feedback: Could you make your narration a little louder? At times, I can hear your mouse clicks over your voice. Also, Oenomaus is pronounced "An-No-May-Us" I believe. Keep up the great work! SPARTACUS!!!

strat i need your help im doing a campaign and i started my kingdom and within 10 minutes im at war with every one but southern empire vlandia and khuzaits i cant peace out because it would cost too much and i wouldnt be able to hire other nobles and my kingdom onyl has 500 power my garrisons and militias are being drained and i only have 250k to my name what do i do??
If you want to do more Real World themed tactics, one of the Eastern Roman emperors wrote an army manual in the 6th Century.

Yeah, so young he wouldn't have even been born yet. lol I'm sure plenty of different people have had the name throughout actual history though so it's fine. The Maximus from Gladiator however, was alive during the late Imperial era of roman history so there's no way he would've been around during the Third Servile Revolt.

Love the content! I am by no means an expert, but I believe you can "Englishize" O-man's name by pronouncing it "Oh-nuh-MAY-us" and the "gn" in Latin makes the same "nya" sound like in Italian. Keep up the good work!

Yeah I think you're right - I was having a hard time finding a good map to record for the setting because the European map mod randomized all battles and they don't repeat, so saving and reloading the same battle could be a forest one time and a desert the next load lol Thanks!
You should try some fun scenarios like sieging a settlement while the kingdom is holding a feast. Would probably be around 2,000+ defenders and decently high tier
Neat mods. I think I will try to space out watching the next installments. I think I am far more invested when the campaign lasts weeks instead of just a few hours. I wonder how it will affect yer data.
I figured people could watch one episode at a time and use timestamps to find their place when they come back, but maybe that's not the case... I guess we'll see. I'll run a poll soon to see how people feel about it.
