This video makes me quite happy. I've seen a lot of people hating on Space Dandy purely because it's not Cowboy Bebop, because it focuses more on being silly and humourous throughout the show, rather than assessing it on its own merits. Now granted this happens to all of Watanabe's work to some extent, however it does seem to me that a lot of people where convinced Space Dandy was just the next Cowboy Bebop and are unwilling to accept anything else.

so worth watching it with the visuals. This was... fantastic and now I want to go back and watch the couple of episodes I missed.... and possibly all of it again just for the fun of it.... it was so good.
Even from the first episode I've always found Space Dandy to be good clean fun.
I certainly can't tell just from looking at it, or even investigating it, but it could either be a curve ball or some actual thought put into the nonsensical fun. Either way I love every second of it.

Solid analysis man. I feel like the Japanese ending sequence illustrates how meaningless it is to try to completely understand the universe. We are bond by its laws but have no way of fully understanding it so we should just keep moving forward as best we can

it is one of the greatest anime i have watched period!
its in my top 5 at least , because how it is a mixture of all genres but also parodying them and not being ashamed for what it is and how unique it is.
Samurai champloo and Space dandy are such great shows also cowboy bebop but still does not mean , they have to be a carbon copy of that single show . people need to wake up from their nostalgia and respect the later works that are out of their comfort zone DAMMIT! or else they will never survive in this world.
I'd love to see your take on "Humanity has Declined". It's a lot like this show, though, not as random.
Heres the funny thing...i never noticed half of the references...since i was having so much fun just enjoying the show and could definitely watch the first season just to see if i could pick any more plus i feel like this is a rare show for my case that i could watch again and again and not be bored of it...you cant take this show seriously but it has its serious moments...its pretty cool but also pretty lame...but at the end of the day its just space dandy and thats alright with me

A nice, quick, and simple break down of the show. Season two seems more of the same, but in this show's that means something different with each passing episode. The art style choice of the most recent one blew my mind.

My favorite episodes are definitely: 1. the episode where Dandy dies and goes to the afterlife; 2. the episode where they are trying to catch the ultra-rare, leviathan fish, which swims to another planet when it gets very close to the other

That robot the gaogaigar lion head comes out of is a dead ringer for Ideon from the anime space runaway ideon.
I thought that at first but then I thought it was more of a Guncannon... maybe Guncannon and Ideon just look really alike though lol (makes sense, both Tomino show bots).

I've always wonder what where your thoughts on Space Dandy, and yes this is a good show. For me it is probably one of the best anime series ever.

But youtube basically has to be that way. Because THEY get slapped with law suits.
Heck, there defend in the TH-cam vs Viacom case was "We are so strick in our copy wright policy that people using our service practically can't make videos."

In the race episode, did anyone get the feeling Prince might be gay for Dandy? I mean listen to how the narrator words things, and look at Prince during the scene where they go too fast. That has to be the best gay joke I've ever heard.(Assuming it was a joke.)
I'm interested, but I just came off of my frustration with the National Gallery of Victoria's annoying tendency of hosting a myriad of art which is deliberately nonsensical and confusing in order to make an undefined point about "what art is" so I may have to readjust before watching.

I think you underestimate this series. The fact that the team making it is responsible for a huge portion of all the most intelligent anime out there suggests a little more in the way of intentionality to me.

***** The ending song might be a hint of something deeper I think in that every episode is another dimension/reality/possibility. Who knows though but I am incredibly happy that they made this series if only to break the mold. This and Log Horizon are my personal favourite series this year and it seems Aldnoah Zero might become another one for me.
Also I think that the Gagol empire chased Dandy for some energy source? I could be wrong and I'm not even sure if it matters or not really given what the shows do, so it might not be important at all.
