That’s my favourite gay film this year … story plot makes sense (to me) and lead actors are great. I watched it on Netflix but would be happy to pay to see that in cinema
I’ve had that recommended already and have added it to my list to watch and can’t wait to get to it! And yes, bad movies have a very special place in my heart 🫣😂
YES! Thank you for doing an overview of this film! Im surprised there's not MORE lgbtq+ revenge films out there considering the mass trauma many of us have had to deal with. I was especially enthusiastic that this one is a gay film with an interracial dynamic, since lets be honest most gay films usually have primarily white stories upfront. Ive been wanting to watch it since i first saw the trailer since it also looks well shot and now even more excited to finally view. I believe you can rent it on Prime too but somewhat surprising that no other US streaming services have picked it up. Anywho well done overview! I also never understood ppl hooking up in forests so im here with ya on that too, but no kink shaming of course I just would be too scared to either be killed or be caught!ha
I haven't seen it, unfortunately it looks really great and i love the actor playing Jules it 😊!! Actually it's the first video that i watch from you that gave me the envy to watch it for another purpose than ....lmao😂😂! The videos i saw till now makes me wanna bake to must be even morr fun with ...a cake 🍰 unfortunately "cakes" are forbidden in my country 😢😁.
I love this film! I love your analysis. It kind of brings into mind a thematic avenue from 'Angels in America' for me and a bit 'A Little Life'. I know, it's very old news... For me relevant, because integral part of my life, as this film is relevant on many levels, i.e. the London setting. Thank you for your exhaustive and multifaceted commentary with a smile on your face, as always persists.
Oh, I am sure there are other references and inspirations. It comes across as a very visually detailed piece of work, very intentional and anyone can take away so much because it all relates to what we experienced. Individual lenses in these kind of movies can uncover so many different perspectives . Highly recommend the watch!
I didn't like the flawed premise that homophobic abuse is perpetrated by other gay men and not by violent straight men. This isn't applied to any other minority.
It’s not flawed, just the character they chose to explore. It’s like I said, I consider homophobes to either being closeted or misogynistic. Just so happens they made a movie about the former because it’s important to understand the ramifications of toxic masculinity in a closeted man. There absolutely are violent straight homophobes, but don’t think that perspective was needed for this story
It is and should be applied to every minority. Within every marginalized group, there is a portion that holds bigoted beliefs about their own identity. That self hatred festers, and these people lash out. This is not a 'flawed premise'. This is how the world works, and it's important to shine a light on. I don't know if you're gay, but I am, (lesbian) and I have met more than my fair share of folks who lash out at people they share community with due to their own self hatred. Bigotry isn't limited to the oppressors. We all live in a bigoted world and internalize bigoted beliefs. That is an experience that deserves to be recognized and explored in art.

This is only my second time watching your show. I'm so relieved to hear your analysis and deep read of internalized homophobia. Bravo Brava
Omg are you taking about Branditv ??!!!
She does edibles so not her specifically (though I am obsessed with her Pennywise makeup tutorial). That said, the results may be similar 🤣
03:23 I never put together the misogyny concept before! ty
Yup same here 😅 ty very much
So I noticed you’re into bad movies, have you watched Ben and Arthur, it’s officially the worst gay movie ever made and it’s HILARIOUS
I’ve had that recommended already and have added it to my list to watch and can’t wait to get to it!
