I remember Shelby said that she can’t let anyone wear her witch hat but I’m taking that as lore, she is finally breaking away from the witch rules and being herself, creating magic where anyone can do what they need. Kinda like slowly becoming a more caring and kind Eda the owl lady

I definitely think the festival (or the festival video) will be on October 23rd which is when Scar (on hermitcraft) is hosting something in which he said he would have some special guests! There also is a rift on hermitcraft as well so it all matches up!

Okay, plot idea. Shelby shows a skill for necromancy (the magical practice of communicating, raising, or summoning the dead) which somehow gets out to the Witches Academy from Jimmy after he finds a burned bit of the remainder of the burned note to Shelby that she threw into the lava. They deem her too dangerous to live and start a manhunt for Shelby, making her go on the run. Then when she goes to Katherine's to hide, she slowly ends up making the place even more dead, realising she was the cause of the curse. Just solved the Lore of Empires 2 in one comment.
Plus! Maybe the rift was caused by the Witch Academy, trying to lure Shelby there by making her think that she can send the Hermits home, but she gets captured there when it all starts to decay!
ive been enjoying your empires series so much. i really love the amount of depth going on, its so cool that the big story bits are coming from your background and not quite things that the empire is creating!

Iirc, Afterlife was canonically what happened after xlife, and afterlife is connected to empires through sausage and oli. So I wonder if this is the same rift Lizzy had at nightmare stables. It could also be connected to the watchers from EVO smp, with it being purple and the fact that the rift was originally tied to grian, who was also tied to the watchers in EVO. I'm curious how expansive the rift is.
