Hello Capt Your videos are the most informative B737 videos on TH-cam. You have no idea how easy you made Decent planning and other emergencies for me. Thank you for taking time out for making them. Best wishes for the future.
Hello Captain, With more and more strongly request for the noise reduction by landing I have heard they consider Continuous descent approach (CDA) this seems in comparing in what you talk about but your remark that (your or) this methode is not a part of (official) learning I wonder if the methode CDA is simply following the instructions given by approach and finally CTR or is this really a special handeling you must simply have to master. If so maybe a idea for a tutorial? I hope you do not find me too pushy ;) Bye bye
Hello G L, I would like to thank you for your engagement and feedback. Regarding the V/B use, it is one of two techniques that I am aware of to manage the descend in the terminal area. Mental math is the other one which I believe many pilots use when on radar vectors. In busy airspaces, the pilot does not have much control on the descend and need to comply with ATC instructions, but to reduce the noise usually, the airport briefing chart would highlight how to do that. Thank you for the suggestion I will consider it for a future video. All the best
I love your excellent videos, thank you captain. I'm going to guess why the approach charts give 3.0 and the FMC calculations are 2.8 - perhaps you can verify this... You're approach charts take you to the runway, your FMC is taking you to runway + 50ftAGL. at 80nm this is meaningless, but at 5nm perhaps 50ft is 0.2 degrees? Whatever the answer, thank you so much for great tutorials and expert, in depth description of these systems.
Hello Robert, Thanks for your kind words 🙏🏼 and your engagement. This is really something strange. I believe the FMC does the computation based on crossing 50ft at the threshold, so they should be almost the same. I will double check the system description and let you know if I find anything different. Thanks again, and please let’s keep the discussion going 😊. All the best Abdul
Hello Captain Asiri, I'am happy to discover a new video of your hand but I must confess It's to difficult for me. I ask my self the Qty how do you handle this with your FO. Is this knowledge required for the FO. If not I assume it's very difficult for you to handle this with a FO that don't know really what are happening. During landing there is a lot to have attention on and also explaining this ? I feel if you are doing the landing by your self so to speak. But a look next to you is very nice and see what a difficult job its is. Have a nice day and thank you very much again. Bye bye from the Neterlands.
Hello G L, I appreciate you sharing your thoughts. This is a technique only. As far as I know, V/B is not covered in any training whether it is initial, recurrent or line training. Many pilots do not use the V/B at all. But I found it very good tool to use when I fly and I wanted to share what I have learned. Thank you again
Unrealistic video for a commercial pilot flying to high density airports. Nice technique but you’re too buried in the automation and I would never allow my First Officers to be that engrossed.
I appreciate your opinion USMC AV8TR, As you said it is a technique, some might find it useful and powerful, some might not like it. Thanks again for the feedback All the best Abdul

Hello Shashank,
Thank you very much for your kind words.
Please let know if you have any suggestions for topics to cover.
Thank you again.
Awesome video! Great tool for getting the CDA on Radar vectors.
Thank you, Samuel, for the comment.
I agree it is a great tool, it just needs some practice.
Very informative video. Thank you.
Glad you found it useful 🙏🏼
Thank you captain for the valuable info
You are welcome William
Thank you for your response. 😶

Captain Asiri, This info makes it very clear and gives an insight that outsiders simply can not easily find out. Thank you for that!! Kind regards,
Thanks your information sir

There is different 0,2 degree from fmc and actual path you can see it when you calculate distance vs altittidue in fmc profile and see the different
