Hi - thank you for your video. About to take same effort on with my 2015 Macan s (little nervous). This approach is so much smarter than OEM approach! Quick question on the airlock / burp. Do you do that with engine running or shut off? Whatever detail you can give me would be appreciated! Thanks for the video and well done.
Hi - completed the same procedure today. Y-tube was totally brittle! Replaced as you did. Didn't drive tonight but noticed temp was rising over 200F and no hot air in cabin when idling for a while (up to temp). Would you share more details of how your "burped" the system? I'm pretty sure I have the same issue. Thanks so much.
I think what you did is a waste of money and time, if you happen to replace this part after almost 9-10 years of production, the new part will give you similar longevity, and I doubt you’ll be keeping the car at that time.
@@MSN-82 I don’t disagree with you but this re-routing is not so much me wanting to over engineer a singular component, it is the simple fact that I did not want to put in 5X the time to take apart the head to access the original factory location of this hose.
You most likely haven’t done this tubing replacement or don’t know what it entails. I did this as well, preventively I might add, and the main reason was to save time and headaches. Over-engineering aside, this new route doesn’t involve taking out 50 different components, including the air manifold, to get access to the darn tubing. So, to your argument about wasting time, this saves a lot (and I mean a lot) of time. And the parts can be easily obtained and if it weren’t for the fittings, this will cost much less than the tubing which is an expensive Porsche part. If this thing fails again, which I believe it would not, then you have full and clear access. I would say, well done @pandabmw.

Same thing happened to me last year.
