Originally telecast on October 17, 1949. Restaged from the first telecast of the series [November 7, 1948]. Betty Furness speaks for Westinghouse. 56:56- House Jameson speaks for Westinghouse.
Originally telecast on October 17, 1949, and restaged from the very first production of "STUDIO ONE" in November 1948 {that version featured Dean Jagger, Margaret Sullavan and John Forsythe}.
This episode was directed by Yul Brynner . Years later when he was firmly established as an actor Brynner appeared on What's My Line game show moderator John Daly reminisced with Brynner about his working with him on an early TV program as a director .
THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHARING LOVE THIS VERSION OF THE STORM , THE THRILLER VERSION FROM THE 1960'S WITH NANCY KELLY IS THE BEST, BUT THIS IS VERY GOOD, I HAVE SEEN IT ONCE BEFORE ,AND WILL WATCH AGAIN.
I was born in 1949. Betty! Hey, If the savings on the food is the same as what it cost for a year for the freezer, Why buy the freezer? The second year savings! Oh, ok….?But what if, in the second year, you buy less food, but you still have to pay for the electricity? The acting was stellar. Imagin wearing all that heavy clothing under Kleeg lighting. Like a zillion degrees. The seen when she was listening to her thoughts was brilliant. AND she looked like office Barbie.
I just saw her in the film noir classic Raw Deal with Claire Trevor, John Ireland, and Raymond Burr. She was sensational. That last starring role you mentioned I believe was in The Grand Inquisitor directed by Eddie Muller, host of TCM's Noir Alley. Mr. Muller said she was the most gracious performer he's ever encountered.
There was the last movement of Berlioz's Symphonie Fantastique: "Dream of a Witch's Sabbath" and also a bit of Prokofiev's Symphony No. 5 at the end. Didn't recognize the other pieces. But I think the theme song is the same one used for the radio version of the Amos 'n' Andy Show.
Yul Brynner appeared in another episode of the series, but he doesn't appear here. He is shown as having directed it. The title for this post should have been more clear about it.
At 3:00, at least three people in line would have seen the pick-pocket grab the $ and run, but no one even shouted. But in the same case today, would anyone intervene?
Is he gaslighting her? I was listening to am Radio. The moderator or host asked what it meant to be gaslighted, and where the expression came from? To be gaslighted means that the person closest to you, in this case your husband tries to drive you crazy, or believe that you are losing your mind. The word gaslighting refers to a movie filmed in the late 1930's with Ingrid Bergman, Charles Boyer, and Joseph Cotten. Whenever Charles leaves the house, he is actually sneaking into the attic, and turns up the lights. This movie takes place before the turn of the century, in the ,1800's, when there was no electricity and all lights were turned on or off using a gas generator, and smaller lights on the wall individually with a gas lamp and matches. The name of this movie,I think was "Gaslight".
So many women feel pressured to find a husband "GOTTA HAVE A MAN". "Pass on the family name" for guys. Grandma wants a grandchild. Then pressured to have a baby because society says that is what women should do. hmmmm! ...... just please take more than 3 days! LOL! Very important decision and not to be taken lightly. Men too!

GOD destroys with ETERNAL punishment in the lake burning with fire and brimstone! "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire." Revelation 20:15! BELOVED! Hmm..... The phone is dead? Yes, why doesn't she look upstairs, or the bathroom, or the kitchen, or , I'm sure there must be a cellar, or Attic? These old houses had both cellar and attic. Not a very smart woman. If it were I, I would have searched in every crack and corner of that house including his pants, Coat pockets and desk drawers.

Shows like this wouldn't last a season on today's "sophisticated" TV...such a shame.
Obviously a young person who dislikes older films
or gop er who hates and criticizes everything.

Marsha Hunt is still alive (June 2021) at 103 years of age, with film credits through 2008, the last a starring role at 90.

House Jameson speaks for Westinghouse in the final commercial.
thriller has a episode called the storm.
"Small Boy's Heaven" bears more resemblance to the original story than this production.

YUL BRYNER WAS in A movie CALLED WEST WORLD AND HE PLAYED A ROBOT 🤖 AND HE WAS A VERY GOOD ROBOT 😁
His cool and dancing prowess gave an impression of automaton or robot person. I believed him. I still love him❤

This episode was very good. I have to go back and watch the ending again I'm sure I missed something.
You could easily google this and it would come up immediately
This is GOOD STUFF! When people really acted..👍

true.
She said MIRACLE oven! HALLELUJAH! 🙏🙌 Nowadays the preferred word is magic. We know who the liar is!
I often talk to myself, but not out loud.
Neither did she.
What happened to the body
03:22 - The pickpocket looks like George C. Scott.
38:45 That guy looks like the worst sort of used car salesman. I ain't never gonna buy no freezer from him!!!
I had a 'thing' for Betty Furness!
a little fire in your stove, perhaps?
Doesn't this woman ever do anything around the house ?
Dust a little ..........would it kill her to pick up a dust cloth ?
And why does she drive her automobile through the pouring rain without turning on her windshield wipers?? I guess we'll never know.
As devil's advocate.. Do we really know the person we marry no matter how long we wait? Not really .
When did she see a woman's body,? Did I miss something?

God is in our body the body is a temple for God? God knows nothing of the tiny mad idea
give this a 3.b acting

Very interesting. A woman marry a stranger then have a home never change a single feature a very lifeless situation. Not for me.Thank you

I've seen good Studio One episodes, but what did I just watch? The acting was as unconvincing as the story and the ending was a weak cop-out.
Lousy ending to a good story.
Why didn't Janet use the wipers??? Must have been hysterically hurling back to town, suddenly unaware of "THE STORM"!!😮👀🫢😥
