Thank you for this, not just as a learner driver but as a fellow horse rider. Most people are just completely unaware. I’m sure this video will help other riders and horses safe🙌🏻

      Thank you for watching.
I have seen lots of silly drivers bring too close or too fast going past riders. If the videos helps them to drive better around riders, then I am a happy person.

Great video as always, Mr T. Very useful. Many instructors don't even teach about overtaking horses when they should do, 10 mph maximum is a good speed to overtake horses at. Great video again, Mr T. Top man.

Nice trick - be patient, calm and considerate. If the horse speed is 5mph, reduce yours as well 😅

Could you do a video on being behind tractors? I live in the country and always find this frustrating.
Also motorcycles, as they cam be really easy to be in a blind spot and be unpredictable
. If you already did these, forgive me.
    Another useful video, thanks.

The rule should be to go 5-10 mph faster _than_ the horse, because if you slow down for trotting horse riders, you can run into problems where you find yourself not overtaking at all. Then, if you hit the gas on an automatic transmission, you might kick down into first gear, with devastating consequences. Instead, if you are going slightly faster, you can ensure that you overtake promptly, and remain in second gear.
