I wholeheartedly agree. XD Gakupo's my favourite Vocaloid and he sounded great here, but whoever used Kaito here is very impressive. I like how he layered Kaito with a lower pitch to create this sense of blending. Not only that--he also smoothed the syllables. He sounds so human. Better than his V3 version, even.
You read that right, he didn't use V3. This video was released in late 2012.

It's sad for me to admit but I still can't really tell apart the different versions cuz I haven't been following v3 that much but if I hear the two doing the same song I could tell

You people do know that they're talking about killing each other in this song right? Like, Gakupo is a heartless murderer and Kaito is a peace keeper in a corrupt government. They are hunting each other down and fighting to the death.
If you watch the PV, it's about how fucked up BOTH of them are from their respective paths. And they end up recognizing each other in the end as figures from each other's pasts.

the art for this is beautifully done! love the way Gakupos voice fits so well as well as Kaitos.
This version and the first version I found a long time ago, Meiko & Kaito ( I don't really like Meiko's vb since people 90% tend to make her sound horible but in this song she was nice to listen to ) have excellent Kaito tuning
This cover's creator sticks to KAITO V1 and uses him really well. (However, creator now pairs him with Luka often.) I don't know too many people who have excellent use of MEIKO, but for KAITO you should also check out damareP (黙れP).

I *really* like the way Kaito has been used here. I actually had to listen to it twice so I could tell if it was V3 Kaito or not. Just to make sure, I'll ask -- is it? Either way, I love the vocal tweaks in Kaito's part, it really makes him sound like he's got some emotion in his voice. This is a wonderful use of both Vocaloids, good job to whoever made it! And thanks for posting it here for us TH-camrs. :)

To those finding strange Gakupo as a girl:
1-In lots of songs he is depicted as gay...this is normal xD
2-The original pic was Kaito and Miku, but this.one is edited to have long hair and now looks like Gakupo...

Gakupo is portrayed as gay in many songs? xD I never knew because I´ve only come across original songs depicting female/female-relationships.
The only original song I´ve heard where he was portrayed as gay is Paradox with him and Len (where he was more or less Len´s bitch o.O). I guess Lovelessxxx counts as well since even though Len´s character is female Kaito was the one he had a romantic relationship with.
I don´t mind though since the only girl I genuinely ship him with is Meiko ha ha (who to be fair often is depicted as a bit of a tomboy) but I´m simply surprised since I mostly see Luka depicted as his love-interest in original PVs.
Tell me which songs though please. I´d really love to hear them

You people do realize that they are trying to kill each other in this song right? Like Gakupo is a mass murder and Kaito is a peacekeeper for a corrupt government. And they are both hunting each other down. In this song Kaito literally says that he'll stop at nothing until "not even a speckle of your (Gakupo's) ash remains." They aren't "so cute~~~~~" and certainly no one is the seme in this song. This is not a song about two boyfriends having hard anal sex, this is about two siblings who get torn apart as children, one becomes a murder, one becomes obsessed with obliterating anyone who stands in the way of the corrupt government he has given his life and mind to. And they are eventually pit against each other and fight to the death. You are aloud to like this pairing, I like this pairing, but this is not the video you talk about the pairing at.
tobimisa I thought this was about 2 child hood friends with similar names that became close friends like siblings, but one was brainwashed into becoming a destroying machine while the other became a machine practically for the government and the childhood friend killed his love and he came to realize, he must kill the friend even if it kills him in the process, but he mourns the loss of both people, because he could see at the very end that childhood friend wasn't completely brainwashed and still believed in their friendship as a promise ring they had fell and instead of fending off the government machine reached instead for the promise ring. perhaps he loved them both, but justice was strong in him as was his hatred , because he soon regrts killing,g the friend.
