Cool video. I love watching trains. I think it looks pretty rad at night - even if the quality seems low - I still think it looks pretty cool. So, are these trains going opposite directions on the same track that close together? Sorry if that's a dumb question. Lol. I'm from Ohio with a track in town that I see trains on - usually early in the morning. I always think about jumping on one and blowing town. Lol.
Thanks for the kind comment! It is two tracks, whether one is a holding track or not, unfortunately I don’t know but I have noticed that this is a pretty active line and usually trains are going in one direction on the left track and the opposite on the other. Jumping trains is illegal, but we all have those intrusive thoughts! 😂
I just looked at Google maps, and it does appear that just southwest of Waverly there is in fact a section of a 3rd track, which I do usually see trains on, so I would believe that would be the holding track. But I also see stopped trains under the I-80 bridge that goes over HWY 6, so I’m not sure why that is, I’ve also noticed that those stopped trains wait for another train to pass before departing, even though it is the same track that is used frequently.
