As fraud detection specialist, normally a card may be prompted as part of security measures of a bank. Nowadays, a text could be sent, just confirmed and card would be unblock. Purchasing limit, suspicious alert or online.
I work in retail and declined cards happen not infrequently to my clients, and even myself. I usually reassure my clients by saying that there is nothing to be embarrassed or feel annoyed about as this is just a routine measure for their own financial and identity security. And this is exactly what the verification process is for, to prevent fraud and identity theft. I have no doubt we would all be very grateful that the card companies have these checks in place, should our cards happen to get lost or stolen!
I'm working as a Tailor in London, and years ago I was working for an Atelier and we had a well known English actress client. She was bringing a bunch of stuff for alteration. I think she sent her PA for collection so she haven't tried them on. One day she came back and made a huge scene that we didn't do anything to one of her garments but we charged her for that. My manager ended up refunding her that amount and she was taking back the garment for a ''re-do'' for free of charge. It was a pair of jeans. My colleague started to unpick it when she notices ''wait a minute, we did this''. She was requested to take in the legs - what we did - and she was bringing back fuming that we didn't shortened them. I found her act very cheap and dodgy...
Mark Cuban Billionaire said that he had to get authorization from his new Credit Card Company (via phone) when the Dallas Mavericks basketball team won their championship game. This was years ago now. He said he was trying to purchase a $100,000.00 bottle of wine or champagne or something. If people aren't doing anything illegal or immoral, who cares how they spend (or save) their money?!
Sometimes credit card companies hold authorization if purchase history doesn’t show familiar purchase in terms of amount or place where transaction is taking place. I appreciate that the credit card co would hold transaction and verify with me rather than filing dispute/fraud claim later on. It’s inconvenience but necessary in current times where fraudsters are on the lookout.
The credit card company is trying to protect his hard earned money from being stolen. Why is that something to get upset about? Imagine if you looked at your credit card account and there was a $10k charge on your card that you didn't make, and your cc company hadn't bothered to check if it was legit? That's when he has a right to get pissed.
Yes, the card company is being responsible and preventing their client’s finances and identity from being stolen. There would be no reason to limit the spending on the card otherwise, as the more it’s used, the more the card company earns!
I would die of embarrassment, even though there's nothing anyone could do about it. My card got declined at a dang Wendys one night, I was an hour away from home and that day we'd traveled to a different town so my bank flagged my account. I was in tears promising the girl at the drive through I had $7 in my account 🤣
Notify your cc whenever you travel out of your area. Amex emailed me to let me know there is no need to notify them whenever I buy airline tickets on the Amex card.
I can so relate to this experience, it can be mortifying to have an SA tell you that your credit card was declined or did not go through. I had this happen when I bought my Pochette Metis at the Louis Vuitton grand opening in the new Istanbul Airport in 2018. I had called ahead and advised the credit card company of my travel dates, but because the transaction was over $1K they still chose to decline the transaction. Very frustrating and nerve wracking especially when you are trying to catch a connecting flight. Luckily, I called and was able to clear it up and get my bag. LOL- I will never forget about it either, I guess I can laugh about it now, but back then it was not a great feeling. TFS! Love your storytime videos!

Found this channel today and I'm officially obsessed, even though I own zero luxury designer items. Here for the fun and the tea. It's interesting to learn what it's like working for Louis Vuitton. I live in Tampa and there's a store at International Plaza near the airport - it's the 'swanky' mall. Well, it was pre-COVID anyway... A long time ago, I remember walking past the LV store and saw a woman sitting at the counter with what appeared to be a miniature Dalmatian puppy (I think they do actually exist) wearing a bejeweled collar. The puppy was drinking water out of a martini glass. It was the most extra thing I've ever seen.
I never dealt with a celebrity directly when I worked for Neiman Marcus but I did deal with someone's assistant with them on the phone together and they were outfitting their boss' new summer home. It was a very recognizable voice lol. So even though the purchase went on the assistant's card and was shipped in the assistant's name to the new house I knew who it was even though she called her "Sue" haha. 2 hours hours and three separate online order entries and over $300 in commission later we finally wrapped up. I honestly was getting tired haha. But was very thankful for the day because it had been slow before I got them.
Nowadays transactions are being flagged even more often because of the high amount of fraud online. My card kept getting declined online for buying a fendi bag. It’s only 1.4k. In the past I paid even more and bought more things with no issues. My card got declined in Chanel once and I wasn’t embarrassed. I just give them another card and if that didn’t work I thought I will just hop to the atm and get cash because I know I have the monies
I could be face to face with a musician, or athlete and -crickets- I’m sure I wouldn’t recognize either🤷🏼♀️, so their shopping experience would be safe with me.
There was a time when my credit card didn’t work when I purchased a ring at Tiffany’s and I used my debit card instead. It took me hours to realize that I limited my transaction to a very low amount of money through the online app because it was the height of online scammers when a lot of my colleagues were scammed for thousands of bucks. Now every time I want to use my credit card I need to change my transaction limits online on my phone.
At the beginning of the pandemic I had someone try to steal $600 from me; my credit card company had sent some of those stupid cash advance checks, but I hadn't realized it wasn't junk mail, so I threw it in the recycling. Later, it turned out someone had written themselves a $600 check on my account. But here's the thing: I hadn't used that account at all in a couple of years, and I had never used cash advance checks. I was so mad that no one bothered to get in touch with me to ask if the check was legit, when it was so clearly not in my pattern of account usage. Luckily, they removed the charge after an "investigation," but it was really stressful when I was waiting to find out whether they would approve my fraud claim. I'm glad that decent CC companies check on large purchases; it takes two seconds to text back and approve the transaction, and it saves you a lot of potential upset.
My card has been declined a couple of times over the years, and I've felt utterly feel mortified, ESPECIALLY because there was no reason for it! 😳 I imagine he was pretty mortified, and a bit annoyed. At any point did he utter those infamous words "do you know who I am?"?! 😆💖
Mine declined too 5 to 10 minutes before the store closed because of the same thing! The amount was too high and I had to get on the phone too but I wasn’t yelling... I was like the last person in the store, the other customers were getting rung up. I wasn’t happy about that I had to wait for the hiccup to clear. It was to the point where I was with only staff and they locked the store up. 🤦🏽♀️😩😂 I was there for a extra 15 almost 20 minutes ....
My husband tried to pay for my Hermès Kelly when I got my offered. Omg every single one of his card decline 🤣🤣🤣 imaging our frustration and embarrassment at the time. After the 3rd tried, I told him to just call the bankkkkkkkk. So anything over 5k is a flag in his case. And hermes kelly size 32 cost way more than that.

Never looked you in the face, only spoke through her assistant.

It’s happened to me more than once at LV. My CA would just say that it happens all the time, not to worry. Thank goodness now it’s just a text to verify purchase.
When I was 17 I was trying to purchase my first Louis Vuitton belt at an in store location and my card was declined because my spending limit at the time was $400. Sooooo embarrassing haha had to call my bank and everything
I love your stories 🤣 it’s almost become a daily affair and I’m disappointed if I don’t find a new video. But then I just rewatch your past videos and amuse myself all over again 🤣
As you said, cards are declined for many reasons. Imagine fine if someone stole a card and no authentication was done and the purchase went through. The original owner would call their card company or the store throwing a fit. Not a big deal. Just an extra measure of precaution 🤷🏽♀️
When you say “well known client of ours” do you mean he frequented your branch to make purchases? Because if that’s the case then his CC company should’ve had a history of his activity (purchases) and wouldn’t have flagged his card on a 5k purchase, especially since he was an established musician. Or maybe he was, at the time, using a different CC. Now I know that not even a well established musician is immune to a simple but effective security feature of CCs.
The same thing happened to me! The transaction was only for some jewellery around £2500 it wasn’t like it was a large amount but it declined my card (I don’t Use credit cards it was my debit card). I felt utterly mortified in front of Everyone. It got sorted after a phone call to the bank but it really felt embarrassing at the time. I knew it wasn’t the shop assistants fault obviously and I understood why the bank do it but they shouldn’t decline it they should maybe just get in touch to query the transaction. X
The Kardashians are a handful !! I’ll say that much. I work for Prada in Beverly Hills. I deal with celebs all the time. Some are a pleasure to work with but most are just too much lol
Hi I went to the American Girl place store in AZ Scottsdale it was my first time going to the American Girl doll store, their was a mom and her daughter they came in. The mom came in telling the worker to grab the stuff that she wanted to buy for her daughter. They didn't look around she just showed the worker what she wanted and the worker grabbed it off the selves and took the women to the checkout after she was done. I personally looked around by myself on my own and picked out everything on my own. I don't know if the mom and daughter were Cerberus or not but they did come in and just had the personal shopper lady do all the work form them
I swear it was Nelly or Kanye! But i don’t think Kanye was that big around the time you worked at LV? Also I always die at your PC smile like at 4:21 🤣🤣 it’s so polite yet so funny how you could keep a straight face 😂
Kanye west came to our Arby’s as it was closing. The manager had no idea who he was and said sorry bro if you wanna go in I’ll need $3,000 to keep it running (joking obviously) but the man paid her and he and his friends just chilled out in the place for an hour or so with the remaining staff and left 💀 my barista was telling me ab it bc her friend was working it
My card was declined in the Versace store because I went back the same day to get a pair of shoes because it was flagged, it was so embarrassing, I was literally on the phone for 10 minutes to try to authorize the charge 🤣🤣😂😂

It’s happened to me more than once at LV. My CA would just say that it happens all the time, not to worry. Thank goodness now it’s just a text to verify purchase.
I look forward to your videos!!! Thank you!!!👏🏻👏🏻
Aw thanks so much for watching Amber 🥰🥰
hi can you do a hair care routine? its is soooo silky smooth ❤️❤️❤️
I love these story times and hearing about your experiences at LV! :)
I’m heeeeere for this. Spill the tea huntie ❤️💅🏻☕️
Jay z?? Nevermind you said fit and attractive 🤣🤣
Right 🤣🤣🤣
🤪
Lmaooo you know you wrong for this 😭😭😂😂
Thx for sharing this! Too funny 😂 I love your videos! Stay safe and healthy, xox Lorna 💕😷👍🏽
Thank you so much for watching Lorna 🥰🥰🥰
@@AHeatedMess i love your videos too. I love the stories too. Oh and Happy Mothers Day. ❤🙏💐
@@daliamcmahon5884 Thank you so much 🥰🥰
@@AHeatedMess your welcome. 😇
Girl! I love your LV stories!
The Kardashians are a handful !! I’ll say that much. I work for Prada in Beverly Hills. I deal with celebs all the time. Some are a pleasure to work with but most are just too much lol
I would love to work at Prada 🤩
"he works for no man"😂😂😂😂
This low key feel like LV Americana Manhasset
For sure.
can you give us a hint on who he was?😭 what type of music does he make?
I always love to hear your LV experiences!🥰👍🏻💐💞
not really into gossip they are hard working people too!
I totally agree 🥰
Ahhh no more HDR overexposure! Hooray! I'm so glad you got it to work. Super entertaining video, as always. Love this series :)
Yes I think I figured it out now, I turned off HDR before I exported the video 😂 Thanks so much for your help 🤗🤗🤗
I don't know if the mom and daughter were Cerberus or not but they did come in and just had the personal shopper lady do all the work form them
I believe tiffany's and LV has done a merger what do you think of that and is this something you have seen before?
Everyone in the comments guessing who it is:🕵️ 👀
Jason Derulo
Thanks for nice vlog
Can u do how to clean interior of neverfull bag pls😘🙏thanks
Seal?? John Legend? Miles Davis??.....
No 😭
Mick Jagger
Usher? 🤔
I work for a call center for Amex hahaha and I bet the person at the call center wasn’t paying attention or was new
Hi.
I just found you. Your content is very informative and your stories are great.
Thanks so much for watching 🥰
I swear it was Nelly or Kanye! But i don’t think Kanye was that big around the time you worked at LV? Also I always die at your PC smile like at 4:21 🤣🤣 it’s so polite yet so funny how you could keep a straight face 😂
Hey, how do you get a job a louis?
I discuss that in this video 🤗 th-cam.com/video/0vG9PvAH9VQ/w-d-xo.html
Harry Styles here we go
Love these videos!
Goes to show that celebrities are also normal human beings: they have bad hair days and they get to be asked questions that we ordinary mortals get to ask when we breach the limit of our credit card purchase ;-)
Haha you need to spill the tea and tell us who it was 😅love your channel and all the fun stories you have! ❤️
No fun if you don't name names or at least give clear hints.
I must protect the innocent 😇 Here’s a hint - his genre was hip hop 🎶
@@AHeatedMess hip hop like a rapper or a singer like R&B? What year was this? Can you give the year? Or if they've been in the industry since 80s and early 90s or since the 2000s?
Say the first and last letter...😂
It sounds like he may have been using a new card or, I'm not sure how long ago this was, maybe updated security in light of rampant credit card theft, whatever. If I were that customer, I'd call my CC company ahead of time before making a large purchase.
LOVE!!!
Thank you 🥰
I work in music management - I hear tantrums every day!
Store doesn't have a CORDLESS phone??
LOL we did not 😩
Ohhh at least he’s able to fix it with the cc company and was able to make that big purchase. 🤑
Is it 50 cent? 😂
Love your videos!
looking forward for more of your experience.
What did was strange in his answer? He is an self-employer! He has a reason!
Hi from Adelaide ❤️
Yay thank you for watching 🥰
Love this content, Cindy! Guessing...Adam Levine? 😍
I wish 😭
This was my guess too!
Nick Carter? Xx
Still can't help picturing Adam Levine, "I'm at a payphone, trying to call visa, get 'em to gimme mah Louis"
Hi! New subbie! I need a GOOD HINT. I got fit, handsome, shirtless, and I'm assuming a rapper. I need an era of their work and if they did movies too.... LOL
This happened to me buying a Louis Vuitton bag too. My one bank stopped the transaction because it was over 2K. So annoying. I just used a card from a different bank, my credit union and it went straight through. It was embarrassing at first because I knew I had well over 2K. Now I know...
i think its Justin Timberlake 😂
Thumbs down for not giving the name of the celebrity.
I’ll take it 🤗 Thanks for watching!
J S she can get sued if she discloses that information.
@@juliel4286 No she cant. She doesnt work there anymore and the whole story is just that his card didnt work and he raised his voice.
@@j666f oh, would you have the same opinion if your ex employer went on youtube and mentioned your name in their content without your permission? what if the content was derogatory, would you just let it go because "you don't work there anymore"?
@@jaypz7781 You didnt understand that the video is not about a normal person like me its about a celebrity. As a celebrity you chose by yourself that the whole world talks about everything you do. I couldnt care less, if a small youtuber made such a video about me lol. So YES I still have the same opinion :)
hmmmm I wonder who it could be.
I’ll share more celebrity story times but I won’t disclose this one to protect his privacy 🤗
That’s what I thought coz u resemble my niece.
Hi! Just curious, Are you a Filipina? Love your content btw! 🤩
I love your blouse
Thank you! It’s a pajamas set from Target 🎯😆

I’m not surprised..some of them think they’re entitled and cause they have money.layout should bend to everything they want until you BREAK..news flash..you’re just a human being like me.loony difference is our bank accounts....’no condition is permanent’ as they say.
What ethnicity r u?
I’m Filipino 🇵🇭🤗
I own a gay pub in London and on NYE 2019 Kiera Knightly and Chelsea Clinton came....how random is that!
So random!!
