Welcome to AROHA and here is ASTRO's story. ASTRO has been around for 6 years and are with a mid-sized company called Fantagio. They were very young when they debuted, only 2 members were of age. The founder of Fantagio previously worked at an established acting company, so Fantagio was also more actor-focused. It is also smaller and has less weight than the BIG 3. Compared to their peers who debuted around the same time, ASTRO kept with a "refreshing", young, teen pop image as opposed to sexy, mature, hip hop concepts which were more popular. They called themselves the "refreshing-idols'. They are infamous for their synchronized choreo and teamwork. Their choreo draws on jazz, classical, and contemporary dance. I highly recommend checking out their dance practices. Moon Bin, the "strong" looking one, was a child actor and model. He was in TVXQ's Balloon music video (a famous group, the top of their time) and also appeared in a hit drama called Boys Over Flowers. He joined Fantagio when he was 11 years old and was a trainee for 8 years. As the founder of Fantagio has since left, Moon Bin has been with the company the longest and so he is sometimes jokingly called "the director". He had a lot of internal struggles, considering whether he wanted to be an entertainer as his mother was the one who introduced him to show business. But he said that once he worked with TVXQ, he felt a thrill go up his spine and decided to pursue this line of work. He has training in jazz and contemporary dance. I highly recommend watching his cover of Itzy's Wannabe or Sunmi's 24 hours. He is well known for his clean lines, working out a lot (haha), and stage presence. Rocky, the one with the highlights, is a prodigy dancer. He started ballet since he was 5 and appeared in the musical, Billy Elliott, as a child. He joined Fantagio a year after Moon Bin. The two are nicknamed "the ancestors" (of the company). He is a brilliant dancer and choreographers/professional dance teams consistently name him as one of, if not, THE best dancers in idol groups. He participated in a program called Dance Wars and placed second. I highly recommend checking out his dance covers such as Chungha's Snapping or Taemin's Criminal. He's particularly well known for his beautiful pirouettes and turns. He also sings amazingly. He has a cover of Bruno Mars' grenade and others as well. Jinjin is the leader and is the most patient, kind, and thoughtful. He trained in House dance in the States and was a scholarship student at Hanlim High School (a well known Arts high school where a lot of idols attended, FYI, all of the ASTRO members except MJ graduated here). He is the one that you like a lot, and for good reason! He has solo songs that he produced such as Like a King and Mad Max. Other Idols and musicians constantly praise Jinjin for leadership. ASTRO has gone through a lot of hurdles (which I will explain later) but it is said it is due to Jinjin's steadfastness and the group's trust in each other that kept them going. MJ is the oldest with the red hair and he is just a ball of happy energy. He is nicknamed the "madmae" which is a shortened form of "oldest youngest". In other words, despite being the oldest, he acts like the youngest. He is absolutely hilarious and the moodmaker of the group. He has a beautiful voice and also has cover songs. He is interested in trot music which is the Korean equivalent to country music. He originally wanted to be an architect designer but decided to become a singer after following a friend to an audition. (Yes, the classic "follow a friend" story). He was told to lose weight by the audition judge. The judge was really looking for his level of commitment. He lost 10kg and was signed to Fantagio. He has the shortest trainee period of the members and so worked extremely hard to catch up to their level of experience. And yet, he is the main vocalist due to his pure talent. Cha Eunwoo is the most well known member of the group. He starred in a lot of hit dramas such as True Beauty and appeared in a lot of primetime variety shows such as Master in the House. He is also nicknamed the CF King (commercial) and 'face genius'. Recently he represented Bvlgari. People assume this would cause friction in the group but it is the absolute opposite. The members have been together since they were teens and have developed a genuine friendship and trust. His talents are also masked by his pretty face. He is an excellent pianist and worked hard to develop his vocals and dance skills. He originally had no interested in show business and was scouted outside a washroom when he was a freshman in high school. He is hard-working, sincere, and promotes ASTRO at every opportunity. Yoon Sanha, the youngest as I mentioned, originally was not interested in being a pop star. He was more interested in being an acoustic ballad singer and plays the guitar due to the influence of his father. As he was only 16 when he debuted, you can really tell his growth both outwardly and inwardly. He has a lot of ballad covers and often plays the acoustic guitar. His nickname is the "maknae on top", which is a phrase that refers to the youngest being the toughest. The joke is that the only hyung he is afraid of is Moon Bin, but that doesn't stop him from teasing him. He is the also the tallest member and teases the shorter hyungs. He's also the youngest in his family, so he is used to being cute and being doted on. But he has really matured over the years. Fans are still a little in disbelief that he's already 21. Moonbin and Sanha came out as a unit group last year with a track called Bad Idea. I highly recommend as you can see their range. They went with a darker, sexy theme. The reason they came out as a unit group was because the two of them are MCs of a music program called Show Champion. All the members have experience being MCs and hosts of variety shows and music programs. In regards to the hurdles. In 2018, there was an internal conflict at Fantagio when a foreign investment group tried to take over the company. The founder "resigned" (arguably ousted) and the company was in limbo. Consequently, ASTRO couldn't perform on shows. They released a single called Always You but couldn't even do proper promotions. This year was a difficult time for both AROHAs and for ASTRO. At the end of 2019, Moon Bin also went on hiatus for 4 months due to health problems. Compounded with the fact that they were with a mid-sized acting company with weaker pull and thus have more difficulty guesting on mainstream shows, ASTRO really built themselves up one step at a time. Their singles go from Hide and Seek, Breathless, Confession, and I Should've Held On (this track doesn't have an MV and they didn't do proper promotions again due to company problems). This era was the "Four Seasons" era. Each single is from a mini-album that is titled after a season: Spring Up, Summer Vibes, Autumn Story, Winter Dream. Again, they had a more teen pop image. They then moved on to a "Dreams" concept with two mini albums titled Dreams Part I and Part II. Their singles are "Baby' and "Crazy Sexy Cool". Definitely check these out. This is the era where they start showing a little more mature concept. It's the first time they wore suits, etc. I particularly like Crazy Sexy Cool, it has a broadway musical feel. 2018 is when they released Always You. They did not promote as I said. 2019, they came out with their first full album, All Light. This was significant as they came back from a year long hiatus and the company finally sorted itself. They came out with the single, All Night, which has an R&B vibe. It was the first time they dyed their hair and wore colour lens and presented a sensual concept. The single gave them their first win at a music show. It was really emotional. In the latter half of 2019, they came out with the mini album Blue Flame with a title track named the same. As I mentioned, Moon Bin went on hiatus, and it still produces sadness. Blue Flame is brilliant though. 2020 they came back with their mini album Gateway and the title track Knock. They returned to their "refreshing" roots with a single that they called "power refreshing". It's brilliant and the choreography is one of the most difficult. The famous story is that they broke the floor while filming the music video. They won for the second time on a show. Another really emotional win, I think all the members cried. The latter half of 2020 is when Moon Bin and Sanha came out as a unit. They also won on a show, 8 days after their debut as a unit, and hold the record for the fastest win. April of 2021 is when they returned with their second full album called All Yours (continuing an "All" theme) with title track, ONE. This single gave them their first triple crown (3 wins). It was the first time they went with a "harder" concept. I would describe it as 90s boy band with an edge. Which brings us to now. Their album Switch On and this single, After Midnight, is really significant to ASTRO and to AROHAs. It is a return to their "refreshing roots' but also describes their growth and journey. We see the members go on vacation, relax a little, and importantly, having fun! It is also the first album where all the members participated in the writing, composing, and production. Rocky, MJ, and Jinjin have written and composed tracks before but Eunwoo, Sanha, and Moon Bin have finally joined as well. I've already written an essay, sorry about that! But thank you for expressing interest in ASTRO. They are a group who simply worked against the odds and every win and accolade they gain is one that was hard fought and earned. Astro is a group that's definitely grown and changed a lot over the years. They started out with a much "brighter poppy" sound and have since focused on a more kind of "mature and darker" sound if that makes sense. They definitely make a lot of summer bops!

Astro debut Feb 23,2016 with Hide and Seek they started with cute concepts but mature as the youngest member Yoon Sanha got older now in a more mature still cute concept. JinJin always get bullied by the members but yes he is sweet and humble and always take care of the members plus he is the shortest member of them all that is why he get bullied everyday by the members

i just found your channel! thank you so much for reacting to ASTRO, our boys are so deeply underrated. they are all-rounder idols, extremely talented in rap and vocals (as you can tell) and they are one of the most synchronised dancers in the industry. their dance practices are a lot of fun, i really recommend checking them out. ASTRO first debuted with a fresh boy-ish concept, so lots of cute and cheesy songs, and they have gradually matured to where we are now! i highly recommend their title track Blue Flame, it's moody and darker than this concept with a fun moombahton vibe. their company Fantagio is actually known for managing actors rather than singers, and 3 of the members (Eunwoo, Moonbin and Sanha) have all acted in dramas (most of Eunwoo's can be found on netflix) and the oldest member MJ played the lead in the musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie. thanks again for checking them out!

Although Astro's songs don't fascinate me, for me they are a group that just works perfectly. Vocally flawless, incredibly in sync dancing (check out Baby's dance version if you don't believe me), superior teamwork (easy to check if you watch ISACs). Like Shawol, I've seen many try to cover "Replay," but most fail because they try too hard to be cute. Astro just felt natural, they were in their concept and they had the quality to get it right and they did it. This is how they got my attention and even though their music is not totally my thing, they are one of the few groups that I have a fondness for, outside of Shinee and BTS.

Astro rapline isnt just rapline they are vocalist who can nail high notes, composer choreographer and lead and main dancer :) so dont stress if you have a rapper bias. They are much more beyond that :)

All the members have experience being MCs and hosts of variety shows and music programs.
In regards to the hurdles. In 2018, there was an internal conflict at Fantagio when a foreign investment group tried to take over the company. The founder "resigned" (arguably ousted) and the company was in limbo. Consequently, ASTRO couldn't perform on shows. They released a single called Always You but couldn't even do proper promotions. This year was a difficult time for both AROHAs and for ASTRO. At the end of 2019, Moon Bin also went on hiatus for 4 months due to health problems. Compounded with the fact that they were with a mid-sized acting company with weaker pull and thus have more difficulty guesting on mainstream shows, ASTRO really built themselves up one step at a time.
Their singles go from Hide and Seek, Breathless, Confession, and I Should've Held On (this track doesn't have an MV and they didn't do proper promotions again due to company problems). This era was the "Four Seasons" era. Each single is from a mini-album that is titled after a season: Spring Up, Summer Vibes, Autumn Story, Winter Dream. Again, they had a more teen pop image. They then moved on to a "Dreams" concept with two mini albums titled Dreams Part I and Part II. Their singles are "Baby' and "Crazy Sexy Cool". Definitely check these out. This is the era where they start showing a little more mature concept. It's the first time they wore suits, etc. I particularly like Crazy Sexy Cool, it has a broadway musical feel.
2018 is when they released Always You. They did not promote as I said.
2019, they came out with their first full album, All Light. This was significant as they came back from a year long hiatus and the company finally sorted itself. They came out with the single, All Night, which has an R&B vibe. It was the first time they dyed their hair and wore colour lens and presented a sensual concept. The single gave them their first win at a music show. It was really emotional. In the latter half of 2019, they came out with the mini album Blue Flame with a title track named the same. As I mentioned, Moon Bin went on hiatus, and it still produces sadness. Blue Flame is brilliant though.
2020 they came back with their mini album Gateway and the title track Knock. They returned to their "refreshing" roots with a single that they called "power refreshing". It's brilliant and the choreography is one of the most difficult. The famous story is that they broke the floor while filming the music video. They won for the second time on a show. Another really emotional win, I think all the members cried. The latter half of 2020 is when Moon Bin and Sanha came out as a unit. They also won on a show, 8 days after their debut as a unit, and hold the record for the fastest win.
April of 2021 is when they returned with their second full album called All Yours (continuing an "All" theme) with title track, ONE. This single gave them their first triple crown (3 wins). It was the first time they went with a "harder" concept. I would describe it as 90s boy band with an edge. Which brings us to now. Their album Switch On and this single, After Midnight, is really significant to ASTRO and to AROHAs. It is a return to their "refreshing roots' but also describes their growth and journey. We see the members go on vacation, relax a little, and importantly, having fun! It is also the first album where all the members participated in the writing, composing, and production. Rocky, MJ, and Jinjin have written and composed tracks before but Eunwoo, Sanha, and Moon Bin have finally joined as well.
I've already written an essay, sorry about that! But thank you for expressing interest in ASTRO. They are a group who simply worked against the odds and every win and accolade they gain is one that was hard fought and earned. Astro is a group that's definitely grown and changed a lot over the years. They started out with a much "brighter poppy" sound and have since focused on a more kind of "mature and darker" sound if that makes sense. They definitely make a lot of summer bops!

Astro debut Feb 23,2016 with Hide and Seek they started with cute concepts but mature as the youngest member Yoon Sanha got older now in a more mature still cute concept. JinJin always get bullied by the members but yes he is sweet and humble and always take care of the members plus he is the shortest member of them all that is why he get bullied everyday by the members

The song was written by eunwoo. It's about what the members want to say to each other. If you look at the temporary tattoos they have, in the beginning, there's a dead battery but after having fun with the members, the battery is filled up.

i just found your channel! thank you so much for reacting to ASTRO, our boys are so deeply underrated. they are all-rounder idols, extremely talented in rap and vocals (as you can tell) and they are one of the most synchronised dancers in the industry. their dance practices are a lot of fun, i really recommend checking them out. ASTRO first debuted with a fresh boy-ish concept, so lots of cute and cheesy songs, and they have gradually matured to where we are now! i highly recommend their title track Blue Flame, it's moody and darker than this concept with a fun moombahton vibe. their company Fantagio is actually known for managing actors rather than singers, and 3 of the members (Eunwoo, Moonbin and Sanha) have all acted in dramas (most of Eunwoo's can be found on netflix) and the oldest member MJ played the lead in the musical Everybody's Talking About Jamie. thanks again for checking them out!

Although Astro's songs don't fascinate me, for me they are a group that just works perfectly. Vocally flawless, incredibly in sync dancing (check out Baby's dance version if you don't believe me), superior teamwork (easy to check if you watch ISACs). Like Shawol, I've seen many try to cover "Replay," but most fail because they try too hard to be cute. Astro just felt natural, they were in their concept and they had the quality to get it right and they did it. This is how they got my attention and even though their music is not totally my thing, they are one of the few groups that I have a fondness for, outside of Shinee and BTS.
