Australian Defence Force ‘incredibly bad’ at recruitment: Greg Sheridan

  • The Australian’s Foreign Editor Greg Sheridan says the government’s policy allowing international soldiers to join the ADF is a “good initiative”.
The federal government is changing the rules to allow international soldiers to join the Australian Defence Force.
“Why not get them all tomorrow - we desperately need soldiers,” Mr Sheridan said.
“The underlying truth here is that defence has been incredibly bad at recruiting people to the Australia Defence Force.”

The current CDF was part of the leadership overseas at the time of the so called "war crimes". The excuse the leadership used was " the gap between leadership and troops on the ground was too large, so we had no idea what was going on on the ground". No one wants to serve under a dog c### like that, his throwing people under the bus his driving.

I've been having chats with my son and his friends who are in their late 20s, early 30s, and I asked if they would fight for Australia. The consensus was a resounding NO, not now while ALBO and LABOR were still in power.
They feel there is no hope anymore of ever owning their own home, as half were university educated, working in their chosen fields, but had huge HECS debts of $30000+, my child in that half, and the other half were tradies who were working longer hours of overtime to just stay afloat, and two of them had lost their jobs because of the business going under.
They hate what this government has/is doing to this country, especially to all the right and true Australian people. The born and bred and naturalised Australians who have been here for years, decades even, proudly helping this country grow. Their anger is tangible, because they feel they are being usurped and overlooked in favour of all this immigration over the last two years especially. Some have had to move back with parents because their rents were raised by almost $100 to be around $600 to $700 per week on rundown sh.t properties, and landlords not doing any maintenance. Two young guys did not have any hot water for a month and were told by their landlord it would get done soon. Would landlords like to wait a month for a hot shower. NO. Ffs. That's abhorrent behaviour.
They commented if it was for Pauline/One Nation then yes but only if she was PM. Our kids are suffering more from anxiety and depression because their lives and livelihoods are in question, as well as there is no real permanency of jobs, they are mostly only 3, 6 and 12 month casual contracts. They don't know if they can even afford to have children because they both have to work.
33 years ago, we had similar thoughts. but it was easier and doable with job security. Not anymore.
ALBO/LABOR have the most to answer for and account for. Their pretense, their dishonesty and lies, their corruption and their heinous deeds are just too huge, and we cannot afford any part of POMPOUS CONTEMPTUOUS ALBO AND HIS REPUGNANT BAND OF LABOR THIEVES.
We are royally f.d if we don't remove their power.

Not One Nation though, but I would love to see James Patterson, Jacinta N Price and Warren Mundine get together with other good patriotic Australian politicians and form a party, putting Australia and Australians first in every way, and what we want. I am also not sorry to say, our Government/Parliament needs to be comprised of white and Indigenous Australians citizens only. No one from other nations people allowed into top government positions. I say this because people from other cultures who get naturalised are still more patriotic to their own ethnicity/homeland and have their own agenda's in government to fulfill. Just look at Mehreen Faruqui and Fatima Payman to start with. Only Christian. Western, Indigenous politicians should run Australia.

YES, please let's make it happen. I hate these preference votes, and I want them to be totally abolished. That's how ANAL slipped in through the Greens and whoever else aligned. LNP are only marginally better, but I'd feel more positive if James Patterson was their leader at the helm. PEDU is only slightly better than ANAL, just another branch of the same dying tree. I don't feel his conviction or passion. I am not inspired by his responses in Question Time. Pauline/One Nation have to give their preferences to LNP, which is so wrong, but in my mind, if we can give them at least 95% of all votes, that would give her more power over LNP and PEDU I think, so the major party cannot just do as they please. Am I wrong on that point? I say this, because of looking at ANAL/LABOR since they took power. They are like ravenous pigs in sh.t with taxpayers money, giving Australian's some crumbs, and acting like they are great and generous, when in fact they are the complete opposite. When I look at ANAL, I see a money grabbing glutton shoving our cash with his fat greedy fingers, into planes and everything else to overseas gluttons. We really do have to stop listening to the b.s. narrative. Our ADF/Milatary need good patriotic strong personnel, strong on integrity, morals, personality and good behaviour, psychologically fit and balanced to make the absolute right decisions for Australia and for her security, protection and strength. As a woman, I can honestly say I don't give a cr.p if it's a man or woman in charge. As long as their qualifications are exemplary in all aspects of leadership, with proven abilities and aptitude through the rising ranks, who does not have any tolerance for bullying within said ranks and is not WOKE or WEAK. Who cares if they are Male or Female, as long as they do a great patriotic job within the laws and rules of defence. We will be "right mate", as they used to say in the '70s. These young lost offenders who, having no real direction in life, I think a stint in a military type school situation run by ADF/Teachers, could be life changing and liberating for their successful future, with the right leaders and mentors guiding them. I have male cousins who forged better careers and lives starting in the ADF. I also believe that our Australian Indigenous people are the absolute best at guarding our borders and inland areas from boats, interlopers, and infiltrators into the back doors of this vast country. They are just as skilled or can be trained in what is needed to protect. Our Indigenous are brilliant at tracking, bush skill survival and overall survival. They were the starting stitches in Australia's tapestry of life, before British white man arrived. Australians supporting true, patriotic proud Australians. Skin color is optional, but not essential. Very pale Australians sunscreen is provided.😄 🇦🇺🙏😁

This is what happens when you outsource recruiting. I joined the Navy a long time ago and I went for the testing in the October and I started training in January of the following year (recruitment was done by individual service personnel and it was done efficiently). I was told that there were five applicants for every person accepted, there was no shortage of potential applicants. So what is going wrong, from a Navy perspective, could it be the two ocean Navy policy, changes in superannuation over the years, lack of single service identity, uninteresting deployments, senior officers putting their interests above the sailors to climb the greasy pole, wokeness in the military, putting sailors in the wrong category and advising them they can change later, too much emphasis on education when recruiting (particularly as it has been failing boys for many years) and not common sense. I'm old and don't understand the motivations of the youth of today, but maybe we should be asking those younger officers, sailors, soldiers, and airman who are currently serving on what attracted them and moving forward how do the services attract the right people.

There's a current requirement for Australian school age citizens who want to join the ADF at 16 that they attain a C in Maths and English. There are many.. MANY, very smart young (and old) adults who don't (didn't) pass Maths and English (because our curriculum is rubbish, *remember Poetry, Shakespeare, algebra, calculus, area of a trapezoid 😵*) who want to join the ADF and contribute to the defence of our great nation, yet cannot. Then, the Greens and Labor want to lower the voting age to 16 (because youths know what they want) without assessing people's grades, and we should all respect their wishes. Yet people who want to join the ADF and defend our country at 16 cannot do so because the need to pass stupid memory exams. 🤔

Australia is not at war and as such it does not require defending. Young people do not want to spend their lives training to kill people when they do not have to and have other options. If our politicians decide to go to war, then they should be in the front of the line and the primeminister leads the way ...

Not this post 1996 government agenda. We could go back to 1973 .
Our politicians have destroyed Australia & this is the result.
Australian people have gotta take our nation back before it’s gone forever.

Both sides of government are guilty of short changing the defence force. The job of the Department of Defence is to provide the military with the relevant equipment and personnel resources required to adequately do the defence tasks assigned. The DoD is not there to dictate what and how the military branches do their work. I was a reservist in the 80's when some one had the bright idea to tax Reserve Forces income and then couldn't understand the number of fully qualified members deciding to leave thatvthe tax measures were soon scrapped but not before a significant loss of experienced manpower. Also consider how both sides of government have continually failed in their duty of care to veterans returning from deployments no proper medical or psychological care and left to fend for themselves. After WW1 returning veterans were offered plots of farm land that became long running successful family concerns at the very least we should be supplying a basic house /cottage to raise a family if desired as an acknowledgement of the sacrifices they have made whilst serving.
The current Defence Review shows that the Defence Department and politicians have no proper understanding of what is actually required to provide the protection they expect from the Army, Navy and Airforce. The various Branch senior officers should sit down actually calculate what is truly needed to provide a baseline personnel and equipment requirement which is then taken to the Department staff whose job should be to obtain the appropriate resources as quickly and efficiently as possible. When the DoD places a tender for a piece of equipment and the winning supplier has accepted the price then it must be stipulated in the order that any costs above the original price are total the responsibility of the supplier and not Australian taxpayers. If the DoD decides to make changes during the time of the contract then there may be additional costs to be negotiated. Also any delays in delivery times should have no effect on the Department and any relevant penalty clauses for such delays etc should be properly enforced. Private companies love enforcement of penalties on others, it's about time Australian governments do the same, especially when government politicians claim to want to be more like private companies...looking at you conservatives.

Campbell wasted a tremendous amount of young Australians time going through their You Sessions (especially males during his quota B.S) The weight list was another problem, people waiting for almost a year to get to a recruit course, many of them found other employment because they never checked up on them. You bet there was a recruiting problem, that and the constant media showing nothing but negative, how the government (and Campbell again) went after the ADF. The Australian government has no clue on how to maintain or improve the Defence Portfolio period. This whole idea of international soldiers is just like the government ripping apart Australian business, just get something (or someone) from overseas rather than having any trust in its own people.

  • @murtazagulzar
    @murtazagulzar 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

In my opinion it's a sort of discrimination to limit recruitment only to Five eyes countries. The ADF recruitment authorities must act professionally as anticipated. The ADF goal should be focused solely on the immediate requirements not on selective criteria. I believe that the permanent residents who willing to join military this act itself has already proven loyalty and commitment of these individuals to Australia. waiting to become a citizen to be able to join military is only matter of time which is somehow nonsense. America and UKs' approaches must be undertake to overcome the challenge of lack of military personnel in Australian army. Additionally, Afghan individuals who used to serve as interpreters for ADF in Afghanistan for several years can be optimal to fill this gap specifically with years of experiences they gained through their service along collation forces in different fields and in terms of security check they are no concerns as they have gone through this process many times during the years of their faithful service.

The most important thing we need to focus on are jobs for Australians in manufacturing farming defence fisheries and continue to export food to Asia building closer tyres and friendlier relationships let's not get bogged down in the politics of international BS
