For 100 episodes the ident review is my favorite show, for 100 years this brittish network has been in Television. BBC has been my childhood since I saw BBC news, that opening song made me smile due to my discovery from it. Also, i love that hug ident, especially i love these 100th anniversary idents. So thank you BBC for being here for 100 years, here's to more 100 years to come.
While this is a celebratory moment for the BBC, the idents don't really showcase that. They feel kinda empty and lacking substance. Oh well, at least TH-cam's ambient mode made it a bit more enjoyable.
Maybe they should have rebroadcasted or recreated some older BBC1 Idents from the past. Would have loved to see stuff like the various globes or the batwings in HD/Widescreen.
The Kids one is for the CBeebies preschool shows only. Like we don't even get to see any clips of the other CBBC kids shows for older children in the TV-Y7 ratings demographics including the classics like Shaun The Sheep, SMart, Chuckle Brothers TV, Newsround, Blue Peter, Exchange, Dick & Dom in the Bungalow, Basil Brush, The Hubbub and Get Your Own Back
You must know that the BBC will continue airing 100 years of the BBC ident until November 14, when BBC Radio celebrate their 100th birthday of the first radio broadcasting.
Opinion on this "100" ident set is mixed for me. Its nice to showcase some of the best events and moments on bbc (and animations are very smooth), buut thats pretty much it. No background, jingle doesn't reflect the event and etc. Nice vid man, have a good day :)
If they were sticking with the clips-in-the-100 format, I would have loved to see modern digital footage intermixed with earlier black and white or analogue footage to really showcase the span of time the Beeb has encompassed. The SNL 40th Anniversary Special's intro sequence did that exceedingly well, placing crisp footage from the 2000s and 2010s next to fuzzy footage from the 1970s and 80s.
I do admire the idea of these idents, particularly the Kids' TV one, though being a huge nerd, I think it would have been cooler if they they had idents that showed the 100th anniversary sting for 2 seconds, then transition to an older BBC1/2 ident, similarly to BBC NI's 90th. But, that's just me being picky!
For me the dancing and kids 100 idents were the best, because the 100 windows are filled with colour but yes, they do move to quickly to fully grasp what clips the BBC have included.
I feel like the 100 indents seem a lot more like adverts. There's no actual history there and almost all the shows or either on iplayer or some variation of the show is on iplayer, especially in the larger square so you can recognise the show. I think they should have done a special doctor who one and ones for the news so it would be cooler to see some more historical shows
The Kids Ident should have used clips from Older shows like Bagpuss, Fireman Sam, Brum, Chucklevision, Teletubbies (1997), Playdays, 64 Zoo Lane and more.
Nice touch with the idents, but they are a bit too fast and need more images. Something is missing. BBC need to be a little bit more elaborative with anniversary idents just like previous anniversary idents in the past for example BBC2 Cake, 2 teleport and the 2s over the years go and eat cake. I think I will make an anniversary ident mockup on Discord, it will be quite hard tbh
I don't think they even tried. Using old idents (and most remember their first time!) One of my earliest memories is the "COW" ident, which always evokes emotions. They were so bland for 100 years. Do you think most people even noticed it in the background? For example, when the BBC did the Big 'Children In Need'/This is your BBC with 'Perfect Day' by Lou Reed, that packed a punch and it wasn't even for an anniversary and the song got to no.1. Now I can remember that and that was 26 years ago this year.
Considering they're supposed to be a celebration of 100 years of the BBC it's a shame that the vast majority of the clips they've chosen are from the 21st century. There's 78 years of history almost completely being glossed over. Of course there's a reason for that, the 21st century shows are far easier to come by but I think that a little bit more effort should have been put in to finding clips that represent the whole history of the BBC and not just the last 20 years.

I mean come on you are not really celebrating 100 years with these idents. It would of been better for the BBC to of had five to ten different idents with montages with all of the classic and most iconic, important, and representative, series documentaries and television movies in the history of the BBC. This didn’t really pay tribute to the history of the BBC at all. It’s just a series of clips from very recent shows that flash by so quickly in three quite small boxes that you barely noticed what shows were being represented. So for these idents I give a 1/2 star out of 5. Very disappointed.
