  • In 2016, we went to Japan and stumbled across some real street and Touge drifting with locals. This encounter was by complete chance as our original plan in Japan had started to fall apart.
We were supposed to film a documentary about an s13 that was being shipped from Ireland to compete in a few rounds of the King of Asia drift series, when that fell through we suddenly in found ourselves in Japan without a plan.
In this video, we sit down and tell some of the tales from that trip.
Hope you enjoy this feature length special.

You two are so fucking lucky to experience all this in Japan. No offense to you guys but you two look around 40 yourselves. In the video you referenced 40 as being old. Don’t see it myself as Iam round that age. Most of the Japanese or import car culture IS the 40 ish guys or lil older. The O.G.’s that started it all! Millennial age kids don’t want or Fuck with cars . Hell most at least in America don’t work. Just worried about cell phones, video games and drugs etc. That’s my 2 cents.

People say Japan is too strict, too uptight, too formal and too clinical. Yet it is because of that, these guys absolutely blow the socks off things when given the opportubity. The fact Japan may be too formal, makes them even more insane when they're given the chance. This stuff unites people, brings chaps together, all while they're doing something they love. That is what makes the car world great. It makes me shes a tear or two when the realisation does come that this stuff isn't going to go on for ever, but these guys make me feel like they can try their best to make it live as long as possible. God, this is why we love Japan and we all sure do hope Japan never changes. You've really done the Japanese car scene justice in this video, seriously I am speechless. God bless Japan.

Shared this video to a few friends with the caption "Probably the best video on TH-cam ever". The fact that a large proportion of this video was unplanned and happened due to unfortunate events You guys made it what it was and portrayed the Japanese drift culture in the exact way it should be shown. I wasn't sure if I wanted to cry or smile as everything we know and love about car culture is changing. Not just in Japan but everywhere. But as long as you lot keep pumping content out of your shed I'm sure my thirst for this stuff will be quenched.

I have watched this video so many times now. It gets better everytime. I come back here to get myself ready for the new japan videos your working on. People like me probably never will get to Japan to see this for real. Its next level and the best thing anyone in history has done with cars. It's sad its dieing out, as cool as it is to have a jdm car over in the UK or America, you will never get to be able to do what these guys do on public roads and get away with it here. These cars leave Japan to become show queens. And that's depressing.

Ecstasy, pure ecstasy! I do feel you've hit the nail right on the head and not just with the JDM car culture but car culture in general. Modern cars are just not really built for the average spanner spinner to tinker with and older cars are becoming more desirable and because of this they are just being stored and looked at instead of being driven. Bloody good video by the way. This was my third time watching this.

I don’t care if people give up this kind of car culture. I’ll never give up my cars when I have them. I’ll never sell them. I’ll be driving around in my modded 90s Japanese cars when I’m an elderly man

The car culture isn't slowly dying at all,,you need to get out of your echo chamber if that's what you honeslty think..New Zealands car scene is still big yeah the pigs go hard on anything with an RB SR or rota but thats only because the drift scene here was that big they had to do something,,it's just gone from underground to mainstream and now back to underground which is the best way anway

  • @binkaboi8087

i was born in 1996 so i caught the back end of JDM history, but i was still amazed (growing up in Hawaii, majority of the car scene is strictly JDM inspired) seeing supra’s, nsx, etc. riding around the suburbs were kind of normal, as well as the grassroot missles. but now everything is different. i truly miss that time of my life, but like you guys say near the end, we should really soak it all in while we can. 10-15 more years and the golden era of JPN cars will either be rusted out or mint on auction for $150k+. anything else in conditions between that will never leave the owners hands. great vid 👌 (weird rant but it’s youtube so)
