    God bless you and your family. God saved you, He will full your sails with wind and carry you in the palm of his hand. Yours is not a sad story it's a confirmation of how much God loves you. Happy days are a short breath away. May your days be filled with joy and happiness. 😂

    A little less selfie and a little more boat and this would be fantastic! Not a bad tour at all! Those flairs should be in a ditch bag or in an area where in a high stress situation you can find them.

    Hey Guys, Happy Holidays! Hope you had a great Christmas and that your New Year is fantastic! I really enjoyed the tour! I was a little surprised at how much our boats are alike. Mine's a 1993. I have seen several of the older models and there are many differences in the interior. Yours and mine are very much alike. I even have the hatch in the larger portlight over the stove(which I never open because the gasket is loose and it is hard to make it stop leaking once opened!). One of those large side portlights seems to have been hit and cracked. This spring I plan to replace that one and maybe all four if they are reasonable. The one's from Hunter are outrageously expensive! I'm happy to hear you guys had enough room. I'm not sure how many I will be traveling with, but not more than one or two others I'd guess. Still planning to travel South next Fall. Planning to cruise the Keys, maybe up the West coast and probably the Dry Tortuga's. Can't wait! Don't imagine I'll make it down there before you head out again. If I happen to make it to Florida before then I'll try to look you up.

      Hey Black Dog, Happy Holidays to you too! Yeah, I think 1992 was when all or most of those major changes took place, so our boats should be basically identical. We were lucky that the previous owner had just replaces all the hatch and port glass and seals right before we bought her two years ago, so we've been leak free...a rare thing on any sailboat! Look us up regardless of when you get down this way...who knows what our path will be!

      Hi Blackdog.... I have a 1994 and replaced all of my side fixed port windows 6 years ago. I purchased a 4x8 sheet of Plexiglass from a local plastics company (be sure to get Cast) and roughed out the windows on a table saw then finished out with a router using the original window as a template. I was able to cut out all 4 of the fixed port side windows out of half of the sheet. This past year I cut out replacements for the 5 small hull port lights. When replacing the portlight over the stove I opted to remove the opening port as I have opened it once in my 20 years of owning the boat. Cost of the 4x8 sheet was ~ $150. Getting the old silicone off and prepping is the key, be sure to use Dow 795.

      @@stevemcalister6454 Hey Steve, I have re-worked all four side port lights since I owned the boat. They weren't leaking, just came loose in the corners. Port side sky light I have had off 5 times! I finally used Butyl tape and then the Dow to fill the rest of the space, no leaks in 8 months. I need to find a local source for the Acrylic then my son and I will cut them. He has every woodworking tool you could possibly need! We'll buy the right blades and go to town. Where do you sail your boat?

    In your experience would you trust the 35.5 for island hopping Florida to Grenada and back?

    • @SailAwayVlog
      @SailAwayVlog  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely! She was such a great sailing boat for us. If we hadn’t needed more cabins we’d have continued with her for sure.

      Thanks! And yes, we believe it is. :-) Next in the vids is a jaunt up to the Great Lakes. In real time, we've got some pretty big stuff in the works. At the very least some more Bahamas, then onward to the Caribbean. :-) . We appreciate you watching and the comment!

    Which marina were you in in Charleston? Was it St John's?

    • @SailAwayVlog
      @SailAwayVlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rusty Harrison we kinda did a tour. Short stays at Charleston Harbor and Sunset Cay, but mostly at City Marina downtown.

      @@SailAwayVlog Thanks, I am enjoying your TH-cam channel. My wife and I plan to retire and liveaboard in 6 years. I'm from Charleston, so that will probably be our home port.

      That's awesome! We love Charleston. The yacht club there is very inexpensive and laid back and CORA, the racing association, is among the best in the world in my opinion - something for everyone and full of really cool people.

      SailingKayode we hope to. We’re actually on the hunt for a bigger boat to live and work on full time, so it really depends on how quickly everything comes together.
