It’s a family show but also a competition where contestants are evaluated by judges and voted by the public. If celebrities want to just have fun they can, but why would they take part to a competition?
It is amazing that a Dancer, an actual teacher who has to try to teach an actual difficult dance to a partner in a week must not show any frustration or outbursts of anger or emotion whilst teaching, yet some of the judges are known for and loved for their sneering put downs and insults live on air. When televised, it's delicious fun, when real behind-the-scenes stresses of teaching and learning, it's bullying? Maybe soldiers shouldn't be shouted at whilst learning how to march in parades or defend a position under attack? Maybe all the great ballerinas of the world should have accused their teachers. I for one do not want to watch the likes of John Sergent or Anne Widdicome. I want to see good dancers with natural talent become great dancers. I dont want " a laugh" I'd watch a comedy show for that. Giovanni is known, as Brendan Cole was, for being strict and I think Amanda just couldnt hack it. I think she overracted. However watching Gio in the interview with Christine, I did want to slap the smug smirk off his face.
I think the ethos of the show should be that someone with zero dancing experience can learn the craft over a certain number of weeks. I think taking people who are already trained in stage and dance Is a complete waste of time.
@BonMooney I think anyone can learn dancing, I don't buy this "natural talent" myth. I think with enough Perseverance anyone can learn anything and that's why it should be a show where people like that are chosen to take part, not ones who are clearly already proficient dancers(which has been happening more and more in recent years). A case in point......a couple of years ago Dan walker took part and he was a complete novice and obviously had no experience. But over the weeks he got better and better and his Charlestown was an absolute joy. So watching him Improve like that is what the show should be all about.

Get a grip. The bully did that if anyone
I feel this is an opportunity to realize two different people experience this show completely different yet there not being clear communication about it I am sure that Giovanni would have treated AManda differently not as an Italian High achiever meaning with a passion that is different to the english not better not worse just different and amazing really, Amanda maybe nedded more of an English Gentelman with less emotion?.... Amanda saw here experience as bullying yet like Giovanni said never told him himself so he did not know and Giovanni thought he could make an amazing dancer pushing Amanda hard because that is also the league he is in, but I guess he read her wrong which is what he has to learn and the bbc to see what kind of a show they really want to have.
THese are world champion dancer who worked hard to be where they are, ... the judges are world level amazing dancers also. To say just a show for having fun,... you loose out on amazing talent also hidden in the People like Rose!... the question here is what the show wants to be./ a mediocre Saturday night fun or an amazing journey of brining a few people to a level of entertainment and dancing they otherwise could never get too on such a public platform. I love the show but only the people involved know the real truth about it all and it is to bad Amanda had such a bad experience and it is to bad Giovanni did not realize what a bad experience she had with him to change his attitude towards her.
After 6 months ...complaining hides a secret desire of revange...perhaps she likes him? Not h
Just as a dancer?
Christine lampard is not a great interviewer, even on loose women she's not great. Well seening she's married to Frank lampard. Another woman got a job because of her husband , just like holly Willoughby
You mean giovanni fails to take ANY accountability 🤦🏻♀️
You wanted to slap him? Wow your comment say,s a lot about you !!
@@eoinMB3949 I agree, I don't want trained dancers, but I do want people with some raw talent that can be shaped and honed to make them fantastic.
No one should be abused end of
No one was abused
Not in this case
@@vincenzazeolla9032 verbal abuse is abuse!
@@AlexisAngelb6nso the difference would probably be;
A. Aww could you please try your best, if it doesn’t cause you any discomfort to move your foot 3 inches to the left and rotate your foot?
B. So we’ve done this 25 times now. Your foot needs to be 3 inches to the left and rotated. Could you concentrate so we get the move and push on.? Right can we go again.
See the difference? And B is how I was taught dance.
Awful man.
Why she is the horrible one
@@glenysjones1047 if you say so, let’s all believe you!
She is entitled to say how she felt...we're not in the dark ages anymore.
@@EdenLoka6032no we’re in the snowflake age
@@richardbutterfield412why should anyone believe Amanda after she has been proven to had lied
Gio nah
Let's be honest here, people who are writing on here saying dance teachers or pros are hard taskmasters are demanding are correct, but it's a fun tv show on a Saturday night. It's become too competitive to try and win and it causes stress and tension which is unnecessary
He’s everything I thought of him a grease ball
No he is not
I’m in Wales & I think he’s awesome :D
Giovanni was not cleared of all complaints and verbal bullying is abuse, you are probably one of the ones who will pay £140 for a meet and greet next year, he is just rubbing his hands together all the way to the bank.
Give it a rest Carol you are all over these comments sections like a rash. Anyone would think you are obsessed with Giovani to the point of having a little crush on him. By the way just so it is a fair and balanced comment you are accusing Giovani of 'rubbing his hands'. Can you provide any evidence or actual facts that he is profiteering? Can you provide actual facts of how much do the other dancers, the judges or indeed his 2023 'dance partner' charge for meet and greets/interviews etc? You constantly go on in your comments about abuse be it verbal (or physical) or bullying etc but really what is it are you doing? Why not harness and channel your dislike of Giovani and your negativity into something more positive and constructive.
I think if Amanda had felt uncomfortable, perhaps she should have spoken to Giovanna about how she was feeling, maybe there would have been a nicer outcome for everyone. Such a shame that Giovanni isn’t on Strictly anymore, it’s not the same without him. I think it’s good to have a strict teacher if you really want to learn something like this and nice if they are passionate about you doing well. I’ve had a teacher that pushed me and I think I’m better because of it.
Will never watch strictly again
Amanda has completely destroyed it for me
