And even if she DID meet Rachel, Rachel STILL goes missing not long after that. Then, six months following her disappearance, her body is found in the junkyard...
@Blizzard Xtoyex I know ... I just wish that we got to see Sera again in the actual "Life is Strange" game - or even James and Rose. All we get is Chloe mentioning how James and Rose are holding up from Rachel's disappearance - and that's only if you choose for Max to ask Chloe about her parents in the first place.
@Blizzard Xtoyex I still absolutely love "Life is Strange" and "Life is Strange: Before the Storm." I just wish that we got more of the backstory with Rachel's family in the original game. I understand that Rachel is supposed to be a mystery and not exactly the MAIN center of attention in "Life is Strange," but she's STILL an important part of the plot.

I actually think that Rachel pretty much IS a bit manipulative, but it's mainly because of her personal situations. She is basically meant to be an exact replica of Sera, ALWAYS searching for a way to "escape" - even if it means hurting other people in order to take advantage of them.
The ending with the phone ringing and sound effects made me feel sick out of any game, and the ending still makes me remember this game after like a year or whenever it was that I played it
They could've easily left that part out but they chose not too. Really fucked up from the developers. That part didn't even make me feel sad I was angry.

These games are awesome. But they never explained how Rachel ended up with Frank or how he got her bracelet. At least I don't recall that being revealed in the original Life Is Strange
I believe that it's hinted at Rachel only getting involved with Frank because she wanted drugs - a way to "escape" from Arcadia Bay like Sera had done. Rachel literally wanted to do anything to get away from Arcadia Bay, even if it meant getting high, getting drunk, getting involved with people who seemed like easy tickets away, or literally running off. Rachel had agreed to get her pictures taken by Mr. Jefferson because she wanted to become famous and he was a well-known photographer. She would've gained more attention - and not to mention some money - from getting her photos taken by Mr. Jefferson. That's just an example of how she used other people to get what she wanted, whether she realized she was doing it or not. Rachel also used Chloe, who had a negative reputation and who she knew would've wanted to escape Arcadia Bay. She saw somebody who would make a great sidekick for her - somebody who would be too much in awe by her to protest to her instructions or to develop the desire to head out on her own. As for Rachel's bracelet, she really COULD have given it to Frank as a gift - just like Frank had told Chloe in the game. Although, if the bracelet was given to Chloe in LIS:BTS, then it could be possible that Chloe had decided that it was time to give it back to Rachel - considering how it was only meant to be used as a temporary object for Chloe to hold until she was positive that they were going to run away together. Then, if you chose to have Chloe give the bracelet to Sera, she was known to go visit Frank - as shown by her leaving his RV in LIS:BTS. So, Sera could've possibly given it to Frank and it was maybe a gift from HER instead of a gift from RACHEL. Again, these are just possibilities. I believe that the developers wanted to leave these blanks so WE could fill what happened ourselves. Rachel Amber was described as "a dragon made of diamonds" by Samuel. Diamonds are very beautiful and valuable, while dragons are fierce creatures that breathe fire. Rachel was a beautiful girl who was viewed as "perfect" by literally everyone. Her family, her grades, her talent to act, her appearance, her attitude towards everybody that she came across ... everything about Rachel seemed "perfect." She blinded people with her beauty and her "perfection," which resulted in plenty of people getting burned by her - which was something that Chloe's father warned her about in one of her dreams. Chloe got into a lot more trouble because of Rachel. Because of Rachel convincing her to ditch school, Chloe was permanently removed from Blackwell, she had to assist in stealing some random couple's wine, and she got pulled into Rachel's family drama - which later got her sucked into trouble with Damon. Rachel might've been there to help Chloe blow off steam and to lend an ear to listen whenever Chloe needed to open up about Blackwell, David, William's death, Max leaving, etcetera ... but Rachel had said so herself that she was one hell of an actress. She wore a mask nearly all the time and made herself seem "perfect" because she knew that was how everybody else viewed her. She was used to getting her way ... and because of that, Rachel was actually toxic in multiple ways. I'm not saying that Rachel didn't care about other people ... but I highly doubt that she cared as much as she was making others believe. She just wanted other people to assist her in getting where SHE wanted. She was just like Sera in multiple ways. She seemed pretty, popular, and perfect on the outside, but on the inside? Rachel was cunning, manipulative, and eager to "escape." Sorry for going on such a long explanation. I just felt the need to share all of this with you since you had that question about Rachel possibly being truly involved with Frank and not to mention her bracelet. :)
@͔ Well, when I watched the whole playthrough for the first time ever on TH-cam, I actually thought right off the bat that telling Rachel the truth would be the better option because everybody deserves to learn the truth about something that is incorporated into their life. But now? Even though I haven't played the game myself yet ... I actually have no idea which decision to pick when I get to that point in the game. It's the ULTIMATE choice that concludes the whole thing ... and even though it doesn't change Rachel's fate, it can still alter what her final few months of being alive would be like. When it came to Rachel's father - i.e. James - I definitely wasn't a fan. After all, he lied to her for basically her entire life and only agreed to come clean about Sera since Rachel had called him out on what she and Chloe had seen at the overlook. Although, at the same time, James really DID seem to care for Rachel in the end. As soon as Sera overdosed and left Rachel in her crib, practically screaming her head off ... James didn't hesitate to get her out of that toxic environment. He then proceeded to raise Rachel all on his own, up until he met Rose and fell in love with her. James really DID care for Rachel ... but that doesn't change the fact that he had paid Damon to literally "take care" of Sera. He was willing to go THAT far in getting rid of Sera, just because she wanted to meet Rachel and have the chance to make up for not being there for a majority of her life. Sera had gotten clean and was determined to make things right to the best of her abilities ... but James allowed his selfishness to get in the way of that. It's true, Sera did drugs and drugs really ARE a horrible thing ... but at least she had made the decision to get her life together. She WANTED to be a better person, only to end up getting kidnapped, abused, and nearly killed at the hands of Damon - all because James didn't wish to share Rachel with the woman that gave birth to her. I understand that James wanted to protect Rachel, but he sure as heck went way, WAY too far. However, when you're given the choice to tell Rachel the truth or not ... it's difficult. Whether you like it or not, James WAS the parent that stuck around and took care of Rachel. Not only that, but Rachel had said so herself that even though she hated the things that James said and did, she couldn't bring herself to hate him because he was STILL her dad. So, if you tell Rachel the truth, you really DO take away every good memory and every positive thing that Rachel possibly had towards James - just like Sera warns you about. Plus, in Rachel's final few months of life, she more than likely resents and ignores her dad completely - which, during the final few moments before the credits, you can see devastates Rose and angers James. So, she would die being AGAINST the parent that had been there for her since the very beginning. However, if you DON'T tell Rachel the truth, she ends up feeling completely abandoned by Sera and she has no idea that James had actually been going out of his way to permanently wipe Sera off the face of the planet. Rachel wouldn't know that James has been lying about his motives for basically her entire life. Yet, in her final few months of life, Rachel would accept Rose as the mother figure that she had for a majority of her life and she would be happy with James again. She would die ACCEPTING her family, never knowing the truth about Sera. Obviously, the choice is very hard to settle on ... but I would still more than likely choose to tell Rachel because nobody deserves to be lied to about something that's somehow impacting their life - whether they realize it or not. Those are my thoughts on how to approach making the decision to tell Rachel the truth or not. :)
@͔ You're very welcome! As for the option to choose a kiss, a tattoo, or Rachel's bracelet, it actually turns out that any of the three could be canon. As you already pointed out, Rachel ends up getting a star on the inside of her left wrist - the same tattoo that Chloe had drawn on the same body part when/if you made the decision of a tattoo. Although, at the same time, regardless of whether or not you DO choose this option, Rachel STILL gets the tattoo. After all, tattoos were one of the main interests that Rachel and Chloe shared. They constantly talked about getting some, so Rachel was planning to get the two tattoos regardless. The kiss, on the other hand, could be canon if you make Chloe and Rachel date in LIS: BTS - because their bond is what fuels Chloe to try finding her in the original LIS game. Although, this isn't an option that I would choose for multiple reasons. Finally, Rachel's bracelet could be a canon decision because it DOES come back in the original LIS. Frank ends up having it, claiming that it was a gift - and Chloe was ticked off because she knew how valuable that bracelet was for Rachel. Yet, we don't know if Frank truly received the bracelet from Rachel, if he received it from Sera, or if it was even a gift in the first place. All we DO know is that the bracelet DOES turn out to be a canon item as well. So, whether you choose the bracelet, the tattoo, or a kiss ... any of the three options can actually turn out to be canon. :)

maybe I'm a little late to the party but that's how my mind worked: since I knew Rachel's fate, I decided to lie to her in order to let her live her last months in the best way possible with the people she loved, no more drama.
my god that ending. the camera clicking, the missed phone calls, chloe probably constantly worrying just to hear abt rachel missing the same week/next day. makes me so sad that rachel had to die in such a horrible way.
This game was pretty good but made me just want toplay the first one again. Rachel is likeable but manipulative, max and chloe's friendship/romance is more cute.
@Vermil FlowZ the fact that Max doesn't do drugs is what made her better for Chloe? That thought never would have crossed my mind, I was too busy focusing on the fact that Rachel was sleeping with at least three different people, manipulating and using the three of them plus many other people to get exactly what she wants, she's a great actress and knows how to twist people around her thumb.
Rachel and Chloe seemed they had chemistry, but dang it max is right for Chloe. Since Rachel is sus about having two other people on her side, but why would she do that to Chloe though, I get she wanted to leave but like wtf?

Just a note. Your conversation with Sera seem to act more like a hidden speech check you can always pass regardless of earlier choices. You can get Sera to show up at the lighthouse when telling the truth to Rachel even if you don't have the bracelet but you have to make way more "correct" choices in your talk with her and the game don't indicate much or even at all what those "correct" choices might be. The Bracelet basically just act as a HUGE bonus for that hidden speech check making the reunion possible without getting basically a perfect score with Sera. Also the reunion don't seem to be guaranteed with the Bracelet you still need to say some "correct" things to Sera.

Minlow it makes sense in a way because in this ending Rachel gets to meet her mom which would mean the bracelet that Chloe has had the option of giving to rachels mom was given back to Rachel upon meeting which then Rachel would give it to Frank Anyway thats just a theory

A-T-A-G I mean I always think Chloe and Rachel would be a better couple but max is probably better for Chloe, even though Rachel is using her and Chloe didn’t even know, but max had save Chloe so many times using her rewind powers especially trying to get her father back, but that didn’t work out as she expected.
Rachel is a very complex character, she is based on Laura Palmer after all. I think she's the type of chameleon person that can change herself to fit/adapt to whoever she's spending time with. The rebellious best friend, the good student, the perfect daughter, etc. Who was the real her? I guess we'll never really know.
AngelofPaz I feel like her real self was with Chloe, she share her life with her and told her the problems and what she was going threw. I think she just had to be like a chameleon with other people, so she wouldn’t cause problems and ruin her image.
I am a Rachel. It's a dangerous position when young. Then you sort of morph into Chloe. You start off as a people pleaser. Then you learn how to do that and rebel. That's when the secrets start. You aren't THAT bad of a person but there are few people you're real with and it's generally those furthest from what you're used to. You end up with secrets on secrets on secrets. It gets ridiculous. But that doesn't mean you aren't being friends with people or in relationships. It can just make you want to run because it becomes so much work. It's like being a one man band all day everyday and when you find an escape to be yourself eventually you'll take it. Either that's trying to run away or people or substances. I really get Rachel.
At first I loved Rachel’s character, but after learning more about how she slept with multiple people and had a relationship with frank i now kind of dislike her, the way she had everyone wrapped around her finger (in a way) i have read parts of LiS dust, and it made me kind of mad that Rachel and Chloe ended up together in another dimension. at the same time they seemed truly happy together in the comics so i am not sure what kind of character rachel was supposed to be...
Yeah she's so confusing when it has to do with what you feel about her you kinda love her and hate her at the same time (and for me that's some really amazing writing) but still the whole timelines and forgiveness and in one you're this or doing this whit these people it just shows me how hard is to get a "good ending" with Rachel and still that's something I like about the character because it doesn't ended up with a big cliche but still doesn't take away that it just hurts.
I honestly don't think she really used Chloe, I don't think she went so far as to sleep with Frank and Mark. I think she was just manipulating them to get things like drugs and stuff, something like "if I stay with you, you'll forgive Chloe's debt". And even though she slept with them, does anyone realize how she was also the victim? I mean, Rachei was 15 in before the storm, while Mark and Frank were grown men who might as well have influenced her in some way.
Evelyn Andrade yeah you’ve got a point there. but even though Rachel was 16 during BtS she didnt die until she was like 19 (?) (i havent replayed the game in over a year so i dont remember) i belive frank was around 28-30 in BtS so it wouldn’t have been that weird IF they did sleep together. I mean, frank had pictures of Rachel almost naked, but i guess we’ll never know!

In my eyes she was just a child

After playing before the storm, i really feel like shit that Rachel died. Although i could care less about the story, just watching and learning more about Chloe and Rachel was amazing and sad
But watching and learning more about Chloe and Rachel IS the story.. it makes no sense to say you don't care about the story at all but you cared about chloe and rachel.
At one point during the game i thought it would be cool that season 2 was about chloe and rachel traveling across country but suddenly i realized rachel won't make it That hurt me to my core
Even if this game didn’t impact as much as the first one, that post credits scene was one of the most heartwrenching scenes ever, even without having any dialogue in it.

Actually you can get the Sera ending with the kiss and telling Rachel the truth, that's what I did, great ending and an amazing game that destroyed my life, I love it so much, I wish we could play Rachel's side of the story, this games makes me so happy and sooo depressed at the same time, I'm nostalgic for a life it wasn't even mine

And forever props to Ashly burch for her amazing writing skills. Life is strange and life is strange before the storm were both well written.

Just finished this ... played the first one waaaaaaaaaay back. I kinda remembered what happened to Chloe, but I'd forgotten about Rachel's part in the first Life is Strange. Those final images after the credits hit me like a truck. I thought Rachel had just left her between this game and the first one, was not ready for it.
I cried at the end because it was all happy memories and then Chloe calling and 17 missed calls and she couldn’t answer. And all you could hear was the camera and then she gets killed. She made Chloe so happy bro. Best series of games.

They actually live together in NY, it is showcased in Life is Strange 1, when the main character meets David after the storm and Chloe calls him to tell him some news about their life, so they finally got the happy ending :)
Yes, i think they should concentrate on Max and Chloe simply because that story wasnt closed. Reason for all that supernatural stuff wasnt explained at all, plus there are other unsolved mysteries, like Prescott family that plays big role in it(imo), or Samuel who obviously knows alot about whats going on. So many unanswered questions and Max with Chloe are best characters to do it. But im affraid Square...enix got different vision which is sad. Those two characters are what Life is Strange is.
So are they still something more than friends even when chloe tells her the truth?? Or does rachel leave with her biological mother, and chloe is just a friend, also, how does Rachel end up with Frank, and how he have Rachel's bracelet?!! So many questions have to be explained otherwise this story just will never be filled, and I'll never feel like I truly completed the game 💔
First game was a fucking masterpiece. Story was so fucking good. I'm a male in my late 20s and the writers made me feel the emotions of a fucking girl in high school. Such a well done game. The sequel was a good game, but the first one is 10/10 imo.

It's like people didn't play the game. Nathan killed Rachel by accident due to an overdose. Jefferson was not actually part of that, or if he was, Nathan still killed her as drugged her again for more shots.
Rachel is an ambitious soul to a fault and does what she wants. She always have been described as such even during the first one. Her charisma and ambitiousness is what attracts people to her. I don't know if she's oblivious to her good looks or not, but either way, she played it to her advantage. It's not surprising that she's played people before to get a self advantage. Just goes to show that not everyone is perfect as they may have been said to be. As for her impact and demeanor on Chloe, I think it was pretty genuine. But I think Chloe loved Rachel more than Rachel did her. Remember, Chloe's been feeling abandoned before she met Rachel, so she's very vulnerable. Vulnerable people tend to become really attached to the next person who gives them a sense of safety and security, which was the first thing she got from Rachel Amber at that party.
21:54 the sense of dread and depression I felt from that transition of happy memories to remembering what happened to Rachel....rarely has a game been able to evoke that kind of reaction in me.

I still can't get over that very last scene where Rachel is being photographed by Nathan, it's eerie and very maddening for me, she did not deserve to die.
Why did Nathan get to sit next to that girl in that timeline but not in others? That girl seemed pretty angry with him in other timelines but in this she is happy :'D

I lied to Rachel on my first playthrough, just couldn't see her feel more pain anymore after what she been through, I feel like its much better if i keep it to myself, that way she will feel better
It's sadder when they're sitting on Choles truck in the junk yard bc we know Rachel ends up dead and buried there which completely put me into a crying fit They also didn't need to put that dark room scene at the end that made my anxiety spike. How awful.. Also in the first game when make went back in time to let Choles dad die again I feel she could've been like hey btw Rachel kinda died let's prevent that

that's what a lot of people didn't like about before the storm, it poked many holes in the original game's plot. i personally prefer the bonus episode Farewell, it was short, sweet, it didn't poke any holes in the original story and it answered a few questions the first story brought up

The ending with the phone ringing and sound effects made me feel sick out of any game, and the ending still makes me remember this game after like a year or whenever it was that I played it

They could've easily left that part out but they chose not too. Really fucked up from the developers. That part didn't even make me feel sad I was angry.

These games are awesome. But they never explained how Rachel ended up with Frank or how he got her bracelet. At least I don't recall that being revealed in the original Life Is Strange
Before The storm is shown through Chloe's perspective, she only discovered Frank and Rachel's relationship after her death, on the first game
I believe that it's hinted at Rachel only getting involved with Frank because she wanted drugs - a way to "escape" from Arcadia Bay like Sera had done.
Rachel literally wanted to do anything to get away from Arcadia Bay, even if it meant getting high, getting drunk, getting involved with people who seemed like easy tickets away, or literally running off.
Rachel had agreed to get her pictures taken by Mr. Jefferson because she wanted to become famous and he was a well-known photographer.
She would've gained more attention - and not to mention some money - from getting her photos taken by Mr. Jefferson. That's just an example of how she used other people to get what she wanted, whether she realized she was doing it or not.
Rachel also used Chloe, who had a negative reputation and who she knew would've wanted to escape Arcadia Bay. She saw somebody who would make a great sidekick for her - somebody who would be too much in awe by her to protest to her instructions or to develop the desire to head out on her own.
As for Rachel's bracelet, she really COULD have given it to Frank as a gift - just like Frank had told Chloe in the game.
Although, if the bracelet was given to Chloe in LIS:BTS, then it could be possible that Chloe had decided that it was time to give it back to Rachel - considering how it was only meant to be used as a temporary object for Chloe to hold until she was positive that they were going to run away together.
Then, if you chose to have Chloe give the bracelet to Sera, she was known to go visit Frank - as shown by her leaving his RV in LIS:BTS.
So, Sera could've possibly given it to Frank and it was maybe a gift from HER instead of a gift from RACHEL.
Again, these are just possibilities.
I believe that the developers wanted to leave these blanks so WE could fill what happened ourselves.
Rachel Amber was described as "a dragon made of diamonds" by Samuel. Diamonds are very beautiful and valuable, while dragons are fierce creatures that breathe fire.
Rachel was a beautiful girl who was viewed as "perfect" by literally everyone. Her family, her grades, her talent to act, her appearance, her attitude towards everybody that she came across ... everything about Rachel seemed "perfect."
She blinded people with her beauty and her "perfection," which resulted in plenty of people getting burned by her - which was something that Chloe's father warned her about in one of her dreams.
Chloe got into a lot more trouble because of Rachel.
Because of Rachel convincing her to ditch school, Chloe was permanently removed from Blackwell, she had to assist in stealing some random couple's wine, and she got pulled into Rachel's family drama - which later got her sucked into trouble with Damon.
Rachel might've been there to help Chloe blow off steam and to lend an ear to listen whenever Chloe needed to open up about Blackwell, David, William's death, Max leaving, etcetera ... but Rachel had said so herself that she was one hell of an actress.
She wore a mask nearly all the time and made herself seem "perfect" because she knew that was how everybody else viewed her.
She was used to getting her way ... and because of that, Rachel was actually toxic in multiple ways.
I'm not saying that Rachel didn't care about other people ... but I highly doubt that she cared as much as she was making others believe.
She just wanted other people to assist her in getting where SHE wanted.
She was just like Sera in multiple ways. She seemed pretty, popular, and perfect on the outside, but on the inside? Rachel was cunning, manipulative, and eager to "escape."
Sorry for going on such a long explanation. I just felt the need to share all of this with you since you had that question about Rachel possibly being truly involved with Frank and not to mention her bracelet. :)

Well, when I watched the whole playthrough for the first time ever on TH-cam, I actually thought right off the bat that telling Rachel the truth would be the better option because everybody deserves to learn the truth about something that is incorporated into their life.
But now? Even though I haven't played the game myself yet ... I actually have no idea which decision to pick when I get to that point in the game. It's the ULTIMATE choice that concludes the whole thing ... and even though it doesn't change Rachel's fate, it can still alter what her final few months of being alive would be like.
When it came to Rachel's father - i.e. James - I definitely wasn't a fan. After all, he lied to her for basically her entire life and only agreed to come clean about Sera since Rachel had called him out on what she and Chloe had seen at the overlook. Although, at the same time, James really DID seem to care for Rachel in the end. As soon as Sera overdosed and left Rachel in her crib, practically screaming her head off ... James didn't hesitate to get her out of that toxic environment. He then proceeded to raise Rachel all on his own, up until he met Rose and fell in love with her.
James really DID care for Rachel ... but that doesn't change the fact that he had paid Damon to literally "take care" of Sera. He was willing to go THAT far in getting rid of Sera, just because she wanted to meet Rachel and have the chance to make up for not being there for a majority of her life. Sera had gotten clean and was determined to make things right to the best of her abilities ... but James allowed his selfishness to get in the way of that.
It's true, Sera did drugs and drugs really ARE a horrible thing ... but at least she had made the decision to get her life together. She WANTED to be a better person, only to end up getting kidnapped, abused, and nearly killed at the hands of Damon - all because James didn't wish to share Rachel with the woman that gave birth to her.
I understand that James wanted to protect Rachel, but he sure as heck went way, WAY too far.
However, when you're given the choice to tell Rachel the truth or not ... it's difficult. Whether you like it or not, James WAS the parent that stuck around and took care of Rachel. Not only that, but Rachel had said so herself that even though she hated the things that James said and did, she couldn't bring herself to hate him because he was STILL her dad.
So, if you tell Rachel the truth, you really DO take away every good memory and every positive thing that Rachel possibly had towards James - just like Sera warns you about. Plus, in Rachel's final few months of life, she more than likely resents and ignores her dad completely - which, during the final few moments before the credits, you can see devastates Rose and angers James. So, she would die being AGAINST the parent that had been there for her since the very beginning.
However, if you DON'T tell Rachel the truth, she ends up feeling completely abandoned by Sera and she has no idea that James had actually been going out of his way to permanently wipe Sera off the face of the planet. Rachel wouldn't know that James has been lying about his motives for basically her entire life. Yet, in her final few months of life, Rachel would accept Rose as the mother figure that she had for a majority of her life and she would be happy with James again. She would die ACCEPTING her family, never knowing the truth about Sera.
Obviously, the choice is very hard to settle on ... but I would still more than likely choose to tell Rachel because nobody deserves to be lied to about something that's somehow impacting their life - whether they realize it or not.
Those are my thoughts on how to approach making the decision to tell Rachel the truth or not. :)

As for the option to choose a kiss, a tattoo, or Rachel's bracelet, it actually turns out that any of the three could be canon.
As you already pointed out, Rachel ends up getting a star on the inside of her left wrist - the same tattoo that Chloe had drawn on the same body part when/if you made the decision of a tattoo. Although, at the same time, regardless of whether or not you DO choose this option, Rachel STILL gets the tattoo. After all, tattoos were one of the main interests that Rachel and Chloe shared. They constantly talked about getting some, so Rachel was planning to get the two tattoos regardless.
The kiss, on the other hand, could be canon if you make Chloe and Rachel date in LIS: BTS - because their bond is what fuels Chloe to try finding her in the original LIS game. Although, this isn't an option that I would choose for multiple reasons.
Finally, Rachel's bracelet could be a canon decision because it DOES come back in the original LIS. Frank ends up having it, claiming that it was a gift - and Chloe was ticked off because she knew how valuable that bracelet was for Rachel. Yet, we don't know if Frank truly received the bracelet from Rachel, if he received it from Sera, or if it was even a gift in the first place. All we DO know is that the bracelet DOES turn out to be a canon item as well.
So, whether you choose the bracelet, the tattoo, or a kiss ... any of the three options can actually turn out to be canon. :)

This game was pretty good but made me just want toplay the first one again. Rachel is likeable but manipulative, max and chloe's friendship/romance is more cute.
@Vermil FlowZ the fact that Max doesn't do drugs is what made her better for Chloe? That thought never would have crossed my mind, I was too busy focusing on the fact that Rachel was sleeping with at least three different people, manipulating and using the three of them plus many other people to get exactly what she wants, she's a great actress and knows how to twist people around her thumb.

Just a note. Your conversation with Sera seem to act more like a hidden speech check you can always pass regardless of earlier choices. You can get Sera to show up at the lighthouse when telling the truth to Rachel even if you don't have the bracelet but you have to make way more "correct" choices in your talk with her and the game don't indicate much or even at all what those "correct" choices might be. The Bracelet basically just act as a HUGE bonus for that hidden speech check making the reunion possible without getting basically a perfect score with Sera.
Also the reunion don't seem to be guaranteed with the Bracelet you still need to say some "correct" things to Sera.

Rachel is a very complex character, she is based on Laura Palmer after all. I think she's the type of chameleon person that can change herself to fit/adapt to whoever she's spending time with. The rebellious best friend, the good student, the perfect daughter, etc. Who was the real her? I guess we'll never really know.

I am a Rachel. It's a dangerous position when young. Then you sort of morph into Chloe. You start off as a people pleaser.
Then you learn how to do that and rebel.
That's when the secrets start. You aren't THAT bad of a person but there are few people you're real with and it's generally those furthest from what you're used to.
You end up with secrets on secrets on secrets. It gets ridiculous.
But that doesn't mean you aren't being friends with people or in relationships.
It can just make you want to run because it becomes so much work. It's like being a one man band all day everyday and when you find an escape to be yourself eventually you'll take it.
Either that's trying to run away or people or substances. I really get Rachel.

i have read parts of LiS dust, and it made me kind of mad that Rachel and Chloe ended up together in another dimension. at the same time they seemed truly happy together in the comics so i am not sure what kind of character rachel was supposed to be...
Yeah she's so confusing when it has to do with what you feel about her you kinda love her and hate her at the same time (and for me that's some really amazing writing) but still the whole timelines and forgiveness and in one you're this or doing this whit these people it just shows me how hard is to get a "good ending" with Rachel and still that's something I like about the character because it doesn't ended up with a big cliche but still doesn't take away that it just hurts.
I honestly don't think she really used Chloe, I don't think she went so far as to sleep with Frank and Mark. I think she was just manipulating them to get things like drugs and stuff, something like "if I stay with you, you'll forgive Chloe's debt". And even though she slept with them, does anyone realize how she was also the victim? I mean, Rachei was 15 in before the storm, while Mark and Frank were grown men who might as well have influenced her in some way.

Just finished this ... played the first one waaaaaaaaaay back. I kinda remembered what happened to Chloe, but I'd forgotten about Rachel's part in the first Life is Strange. Those final images after the credits hit me like a truck. I thought Rachel had just left her between this game and the first one, was not ready for it.
I cried at the end because it was all happy memories and then Chloe calling and 17 missed calls and she couldn’t answer. And all you could hear was the camera and then she gets killed. She made Chloe so happy bro. Best series of games.

Yes, i think they should concentrate on Max and Chloe simply because that story wasnt closed. Reason for all that supernatural stuff wasnt explained at all, plus there are other unsolved mysteries, like Prescott family that plays big role in it(imo), or Samuel who obviously knows alot about whats going on. So many unanswered questions and Max with Chloe are best characters to do it. But im affraid Square...enix got different vision which is sad. Those two characters are what Life is Strange is.

Or does rachel leave with her biological mother, and chloe is just a friend, also, how does Rachel end up with Frank, and how he have Rachel's bracelet?!! So many questions have to be explained otherwise this story just will never be filled, and I'll never feel like I truly completed the game 💔

First game was a fucking masterpiece. Story was so fucking good. I'm a male in my late 20s and the writers made me feel the emotions of a fucking girl in high school. Such a well done game. The sequel was a good game, but the first one is 10/10 imo.

It's like people didn't play the game. Nathan killed Rachel by accident due to an overdose. Jefferson was not actually part of that, or if he was, Nathan still killed her as drugged her again for more shots.

Rachel is an ambitious soul to a fault and does what she wants. She always have been described as such even during the first one. Her charisma and ambitiousness is what attracts people to her. I don't know if she's oblivious to her good looks or not, but either way, she played it to her advantage. It's not surprising that she's played people before to get a self advantage. Just goes to show that not everyone is perfect as they may have been said to be.
As for her impact and demeanor on Chloe, I think it was pretty genuine. But I think Chloe loved Rachel more than Rachel did her. Remember, Chloe's been feeling abandoned before she met Rachel, so she's very vulnerable. Vulnerable people tend to become really attached to the next person who gives them a sense of safety and security, which was the first thing she got from Rachel Amber at that party.
The fastest choice I have made is Chloe kissing Rachel. No hesitation at all
21:54 the sense of dread and depression I felt from that transition of happy memories to remembering what happened to Rachel....rarely has a game been able to evoke that kind of reaction in me.

I still can't get over that very last scene where Rachel is being photographed by Nathan, it's eerie and very maddening for me, she did not deserve to die.
Why did Nathan get to sit next to that girl in that timeline but not in others? That girl seemed pretty angry with him in other timelines but in this she is happy :'D

that's what a lot of people didn't like about before the storm, it poked many holes in the original game's plot.
i personally prefer the bonus episode Farewell, it was short, sweet, it didn't poke any holes in the original story and it answered a few questions the first story brought up
