      This was my first time watching Goodwood Festival!! So I really enjoyed the whole Festival ❤️🔥 With Williams for sure 💙

    I want to ask Williams here
    is it true that Williams belongs to the lower class in F1?
    In my opinion, all types of cars that enter F1 are the same starting from speed resistance and others, because they have passed the F1 standard
    The existence of the upper class, middle class and lower class in F1 is just something that is embedded in the mind, that certain cars must win and certain cars must also be under.
    whereas we only need to realize that the cars that are driven in F1 are all elite cars, we just need to realize that and get out of the thought that there are high-class, middle-class and lower-class cars in F1, most importantly we should be grateful to God for giving us opportunity to drive elite cars.
    as proof that all cars can be said to be the same in F1, a car that is said to be lower class can enter 8th position during qualifying in England
    So you Williams keep spirit

    Has Willams F1 or any other F1 team designed a car with a dimpled body surface or with striated grooves that run the length of the car's body? One of America's Cup teams used a grooved hull to reduce cavitation and less drag, allowing the boat to move faster thru the water. Might work for F1 cars too? Anyone?

      The thing with F1 aerodynamics, as I understand it, is that controlled downforce - not eliminating drag - is the most important thing for a team to design around. F1 cars have really high drag coefficients (higher than most road cars) because the downforce-generating components create drag themselves. Golf ball dimples create turbulence that combines to separate the airflow from the body of the car. This is good for reducing drag, but it also shoots the air away from the downforce-generating parts, rendering them ineffective and making the car much slower around a circuit.
      If a team were to try to do a top speed run at Bonneville like Toyota did in 2006, golf ball aero could be an interesting idea. It's pretty much useless for regular racing, though.
