The book of Revelation is arguably the most symbolic book in the Bible for one, for two the NT was originally written in Greek so it wouldn't be wise to assume that hand and forehead literally mean hand and forehead without considering those first 2 things. All throughout scripture the hand and forehead are symbolic in representing what a person meditates on and the deeds they carry out. Also the right hand represents authority in the scripture. The serpent is more subtil than any other creature, why would the devil give a warning to Christians that he is trying to destroy?
And bring me scripture that shows there is a precursor of the mark? And even considering the same argument that it is a precursor would be erroneous because there have been plenty of vaccines before. Many people of God, during the times of Edward Jenner's initial shot he gave, spoke out against it going so far to even call it "the image of the beast" and "the mark of the beast".
