    The Apple Pencil is my favorite stylus out of all the ones I’ve used and Procreate is my favorite drawing app. iOS will be getting full photoshop next year, which means the iPad Pro will replace my MacBook Pro as my portable work computer. It does everything I need, and more, in an ultra portable package.

    In addition - more pros of Surface Go is:
    Build in SD expansion slot - much cheaper to buy SD card than a higher capacity Ipad with more than 128gb drive
    Proper file system with full OS running windows 10
    Very good build in kick stand
    A proper place to secure your pen on the magnetic edges
    Can run more apps especially desktop apps than Ipad

      Michael Ng You are totally wrong in ur submission, the iPad Pro 2018 charges ur pen, and doesn’t just stick to ur iPad like the surface...
      Also, the iPad is way better in terms of app integration.
      In the end, comes down to what works best for u anyways.

      pleezoe - Hi this video is a comparison of the IPAD 2018 which is still using the older Apple Pencil with the lightning port ( Not the Ipad PRO- I have the Ipad pro 10.5 and also the latest IPAD PRO 2018 12.9 so I have experience of both model of the Apple Pencil ).

      I used Surface a little bit and IPad was much much better in the terms of fast sketching, apps for the system, Apple Pencil is really precise with lines, gesture controls are cool, colors are amazing, you don’t have to wait longer to turn it on and just draw or paint on it, It’s not getting hot on your knees at all, procreate app or artstudio (similiar to Photoshop in function) Affinity Photo and Designer can easily replace expensive Adobe stuff thought I know there is new ios version of ps for the new IPad and many other new apps for drawing, there are vector apps and animation apps also. I drew on this thing much much more than I could imagine I ever would.
      But I think both surface and IPad have their + and - as showed in this very good comparision video.
      0:21 Btw I can feel the pain Teoh.

      nickdziwny agree with you on the fast turn on, Apple Pencil precision and the high quality of the IOS tablet drawing apps. I am just stating other pros not mentioned in this video. Both platforms serve a good purpose and can be a good match depending on your workflow. 👍😊

    I'm a pc user and I'm considering the purchase of a tablet for sketching, and I'm intrigued by the 2019 iPad because of the pencil and procreate. Can you give me some tips on how to have an efficient workflow with mixed os?

      You can export Procreate into other file formats to work on your computer. So mixed OS is no problem.

    I am an engineering student and artist I love the new apple pencil and the iPad’s drawing features but I don’t want to be limited with iOS and the other issues like the keyboard and lack of trackpad. Is the surface pen as satisfying as the pencil to use while drawing and writing notes in class?

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Surface Pen feels good for drawing too. Drawing and handwriting are both capable on Surface Go. But lack of easy text selection, lack of file system are downsides of iOS. If you already have a computer, I would recommend the iPad because I feel the drawing tablet apps are better on iOS

    not sure if it's me who does't pick this up or , in your videos, you never specify if the surface go you are comparing is 4gb ram or 8gb ram (which I consider is very important). Can't get my questions answered if I dont know which one you are using...

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mines the 8GB RAM model. Best to get more RAM because the OS uses RAM as well, and many software you are going to leave open.

      @@teohyc ok thanks for replying :) I thought so and arleady got the 8gb one. Watchingyour video and some others made me do my mind up and bought the surface go 8gb.
      But then I also got the ipad pro 2018 because I found a good price in amazon and could't resist it. They will both arrive tomorrow. But now I'm thinkingt that what I've done might have been very silly, isn't it? as they're just 2 very similar things? maybe I'll give one back.
      Already own an ipad 12.9 but here it's just broken and here, in Spain, where I am from, it's so expensive to fix it that it hurts.(but I actually spent the same amount of money on buying those other 2 tablets... )
      The thing is that I know I like the ipad so much (because of my experience with the one ive been using untill i broke) but at the same time I want something with windows so I can play some games that aren't available for IOS, and I can use it as a computer with mouse, so that's why I got the surface go (also to draw on it, ofcourse). Then I thought I would get the low cost ipad so I can have again te ipad experience. And now I'm not sure if all of this makes sense.
      I would be fixing my ipad 12.9 in some monhs when I start working, won't get the newst one becauseI already have the pencil and keyboard of the 2017 one.
      Anyways, hope I didn't bore you with my hole story. Would be nice if you let me know what you think. Cheers.

    • @teohyc
      @teohyc 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@luciacristinasalinaschanti3208 Really depends on what work you do. The Surface Go isn't going to be that good for gaming, but again it depends on what kind of games. iPad Pro is more powerful, and if you already have a computer, perhaps the iPad route is better.

    Today's lesson.... be careful. Thanks for the video. BUT... the Ipad isn't significantly cheaper since you didn't add a keyboard to its price as you did with the Surface. They're the same price and you don't need a keyboard with either. Really don't know why you did that. You should have included a keyboard in the Ipad price ir leave it out of the Surface pricing. Not a fair comparison now.
    I've had my Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 for 2 years now, but want something more serious. Watched your Ipad and Surface videos again. Looked at the Ipad, but prefer Windows. The Surface Go is underpowered and I find the rest of the line up too expensive. Then I remembered your Miix 500/520 videos. Last week I got a second hand, but almost new Miix 720 for less than a Surface Go 128Gb costs here. Double the SSD, real i5, higher resolution and better screen.... including a lovely keyboard cover and pen. That would be my recommendation to anyone, before buying new check your local second hand market. Before you know it, you end up with a way better deal.

    Most pro or semi-pro drawing/photo applications, have the options to fullscreen, so don't lie and say that desktop applications have a worse experience -.-

      Fullscreen does not mean the experience will be better. More important is whether there are any shortcut buttons or softkeys for quick access to certain functions, such as undo, changing brush sizes, for example.
