That pretty much nails it. Both are great wings. The Manits is a better choice for advanced wingers, who keep their speed up. The X3 is a rock solid wing that holds it's shape in the strongest gusts. While I prefer the Mantis, I may have my highest speed ever on the X3 during a crazy gust.
Nice review. What do you think about low end of wind range is it notable better for X3 than V2? V2 has thicker airfoil shape that aerodynamically could be more efficient at low speed compared to thinner airfoil like V2.
X3 has a bit more lift and a more compact shape so it will be easier for beginners and light wind. The Mantis has more range and a nicely balanced surf performance. -Tucker
Can you comment on the weight difference between the two? I'm looking to replace my 7m X2 which is a pretty beefy wing even though it's been great. I'm considering between the Mantis V2 vs Strike CWC 7m. My other wing is a Strike 5m and man that thing is light compared to my X2.
The Crosswing is notably heavier with that dual strut design but it's still about average for weight in terms of the entire industry. The Mantis is very light. Both the Mantis and Crosswing are lighter than the CWC. -Tucker
Looking for a low wind wing with hard handles (like 6m. I weigh 65kg and am 1.76m so 6m is the biggest i can comfortably ride.) Do you have any recommendations? Currently own a 4.5m dlab and 3.1 mantis v1 and i like them both
@@obvioustrash7833 Yes, the 6m is really fun in both D/lab and standard constructions. The D/lab is a nice upgrade but the normal one is really excellent as well. Very stiff and light weight for a dacron wing.

I appreciate that you are out testing equipment in the snow! Great videos
More to come! Snowed 8 inches last night and we are still on the water. -Tucker

How did you mount the camera on the wing?
Great question, my friend. 🤙🏽 We use the Flymount Aero (link below). Good winds! -Aaron

Unit 6 or CWC 6 are some top choices for our team. - North also has an interesting option releasing this fall. Tucker
@@MACkiteboarding would you say the regular unit is fine in 6m? I heard that the d/lab makes a huge difference for bigger wings.

Does the V2 still have the check valve like the V1 or can you get a pressure reading on your gauge?
You'll want to read the pressure while you are pumping air into the wing. If you are not actively pumping, it won't be an accurate reading. -Tucker
