Cameras don’t actually slow the cars down, though. They could still drive through as fast as they want and just receive a ticket later. I’m not saying this wouldn’t make someone think twice, but wouldn’t actual speed bumps or other physical traffic calming measures be more effective? Stop lights/signs, narrower roads, etc
10 miles or above ? Over here they'll get you for doing 2 Km/h over (1.24 MPH). The thing is, the cameras are not that accurate nor are most car speedometers. Sure, if they get you on LIDAR , those are accurate (if calibrated and used correctly) but the speed cameras work in a different way. I think point to point cameras are more fair (i.e. over a 400 metre / quarter mile or greater distance). This way if you are really a speeder, it will get you but wont get you for doing 1 - 3 over the limit when you're not paying attention for a moment. Staring at your speedometer is DANGEROUS. You're far better watching the road (watching for kids running out / people stepping out) The issue is however, if you get pinged for doing your 2 KPH - 5 KPH over, you need to hire an expert to go into court to prove that speed cameras have inaccuracies and tolerances. This will cost you hundreds of dollars and the ticket for 2 KPH over is currently just under $300
Where i live (germany), and in europe in general, these have been here for ages, and they work. America is treating these camera's like some brand new tech lol.
Ofcause there are guidelines. They are set up especially in areas like school zones and such, but also can be found all around cities, and also the Autobahn (Some sections have speed limits, and people love to break them). They are basically set anywhere where a good amount of people have been speeding.@@Solutionaries
@@KPDBOS It's like he never learned the concept of crossing a street. The whole reason both directions must stop by law is so kids can cross. It amazes me that people like this can even dress themselves in the morning.
@@KPDBOS Can you provide a counter argument? Thanks. Why do I have to stop if the kids are being let off on the sidewalk (they live on the side where they get dropped off so they don't need to cross) If I'm on the other side of the bus in the opposite direction, say like a 2-lane road?

Are those cameras just used in certain places like school zones? Or anywhere they deem appropriate? Are there guidelines?

I'm sorry but speed cameras are definitely just money for cops.
Don't get me started on buses blocking BOTH lanes when letting kids off the bus.
If you think a bus protecting a child is a problem you need to have your license revoked and need another 17 years before you can drive again.

What about the children is used to punish adults and generate profit for the injustices. The cameras will only lead to more intrusions.

Only back roads should both lanes have to stop not on a main road
