I have loved Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers since I first heard them in the late 70's. I saw them in the 90's and they were great !! I cried for days when he died. May he Rest in Peace forever 🙏🙌❤️😇 !!

I think this was one of the last tours that they player American Girl in the original key of D major. From the 30th anniversary tour in 06 and forward they dropped it down to D flat, and briefly around 2010/11 down to C major.

You’re totally right! They played it in D the first few shows of 06 actually, and then dropped it down to Db at Bonnaroo and then at some point moved it to C (2010 seems right) for all the later tours

I'm going to be in mourning for Tom Petty, the remainder of my days. (I puked when I read the news.) The double-bills with both Geils and the Outlaws leave me ecstatic that I was born in time to see it. If I ever bump into Mike Campbell or Benmont, I'm going to hug the stuffing out of them.
The Heartbreakers succeeded. They broke my heart. ❤
