Il santuario di Maria Santissima Avvocata sopra Maiori è un luogo di culto mariano, situato a un'altezza di 827 metri sul Monte Falerzio (1014 metri, detto anche Monte Avvocata), che sovrasta il comune di Maiori, in costiera amalfitana. Il santuario è raggiungibile solo tramite sentieri che partono da Cava de' Tirreni, Cetara e Maiori, percorrendo in parte l'Alta via dei Monti Lattari. Il sentiero più utilizzato e quello che parte dalla Badia dei Benedettini della SS. Trinità di Cava, dal piazzale della Badia si scende verso il torrente, si attraversa il ponte e si sale a destra costeggiando il corso d'acqua per circa 200m e poi si prende il sentiero a sinistra. Fino alla sorgente di Capodacqua (570m) si procede per lo più fra castagneti cedui, alternando tratti quasi in piano a brevi salite. Dalla fontanina si sale fra i castagni lungo la valle fino ad incontrare un sentiero abbastanza largo che inizia con un paio di tornanti. Il sentiero e facile da seguire e circa 700m dopo la sorgente si giunge a Cappella Vecchia (683m) e dal poggio si gode di un ampio panorama sul litorale a sud di Salerno e sull'isolata altura rocciosa di Monte Falerio (686m).
Di qui in avanti si procede in costa con dislivelli minimi per oltre 1 km con viste sul Vallone Grande al cui sbocco sul mare si vede Cetara e quindi si comincia a salire verso le Vene San Pietro. Giunti alla prima sella si ammira per la prima volta la valle di Tramonti e sullo sfondo Ravello. Qui terminano i segnavia bianco/rossi del CAI e si deve proseguire diritti in costa a sinistra del colle fino all'altra sella (937m) e quindi scendere al Santuario.
The sanctuary of Maria Santissima Avvocata sopra Maiori is a place of Marian worship, located at a height of 827 meters on Mount Falerzio (1014 metres, also called Mount Avvocata), which overlooks the municipality of Maiori, on the Amalfi coast. The sanctuary can only be reached via paths that start from Cava de' Tirreni, Cetara and Maiori, partly along the Alta via dei Monti Lattari. The most used path is the one that starts from the Benedictine Abbey of the SS. Trinità di Cava, from the square of the Badia you go down towards the stream, cross the bridge and go up to the right along the watercourse for about 200m and then take the path on the left. Up to the Capodacqua source (570m) you proceed mostly through coppiced chestnut groves, alternating almost flat sections with short climbs. From the fountain you go up among the chestnut trees along the valley until you reach a fairly wide path that begins with a couple of hairpin bends. The path is easy to follow and about 700m after the source you reach Cappella Vecchia (683m) and from the hill you can enjoy a wide panorama of the coast south of Salerno and the isolated rocky hill of Monte Falerio (686m).
From here onwards we proceed along the coast with minimal differences in height for over 1 km with views of the Vallone Grande whose outlet to the sea you can see Cetara and then begin to climb towards the Vene San Pietro. Once you reach the first saddle you can admire the Tramonti valley for the first time and Ravello in the background. Here the white/red CAI trail signs end and you must continue straight along the coast to the left of the hill up to the other saddle (937m) and then go down to the Sanctuary.
