    🔎 Jeffrey Martin:
    Portland, Oregon's Jeffrey Martin is a minister's son who can build a house with his bare hands and holds a master's degree in English. He worked his way through school as a carpenter, then, following graduation, spent four years teaching high school before making music his full-time pursuit. He has three intensely lyric-driven albums under his belt, two of which were released on the Portland indie-label, Fluff & Gravy Records. Martin writes music that probes the depths of the human experience and doesn't shy away from its darkest corners. His songs can feel like short stories from literary giants like Steinbeck, Burroughs, or Cormac McCarthy and possess a raw intensity that comes from seeing his subjects up close. All the struggle, hurt, strife, and heartbreak that comes from living in this world are laid bare and unvarnished, yet somehow, he manages to mine and make space for what beauty remains.

    I am a veteran of a military that was in training for war in a time with very little conflict. I grew in an age when there was patience in learning. I am a father who raised children during a time when the fastest answer held more confidence in “a truth” than empirical evidence. Yet here I am liking and commenting on a video of my favorite”new to me” artist offered by a TH-cam channel that I do not follow and haven’t a single resonate memory of ever interacting with.

    Jeffrey has been my personal secret for years now. I only share his beauty with the people in my life that are worthy of knowing his gift.
    I know. It's selfish to not scream to the world what talent he has and how deep he reaches into the souls of the people blessed to hear him. I care not. I know he is satiated in his place of relative obscurity. He needs not fortune or fame. He needs just enough to keep him the same.
    The same as he's always been.

    guitar chords anyone? all i see is G and C and capo on 1st

    • @MarlonSage
      @MarlonSage ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The chords that I hear (disregard the capo) goes something like this:
      Intro:
      C/G, Fmaj7, C/G, Am, G, C/G
      Verse:
      Fmaj7, C/G, Am, G
      Fmaj7, Am, G, C/G
      Then possibly some variations of those patterns later on. Hope it helps
