Reduce white point only helps if the screen wouldn’t use PWM above 50% and used DC dimming. The iPhones use PWM at all brightness so this won’t make any difference. So if you are sensitive for PWM I would suggest to keep using LCD phones. Or try the Xiaomi 13 or Honor 200 or some Motorola phones. They are much better regarding the PWM issue. Apple doesn’t acknowledge that PWM is a problem. So they won’t fix it.
Does not ‘remove PWM’ at all. Reduce white point only reduces brightness while allowing the ‘base’ brightness to be higher and still comfortable to look at. PWM is present at all brightness levels on all modern iPhones.
Dear sir thanks for making this video, can you do a comparison of Pwm values using the radex Lupin tester or such, it’s hard nowadays to get a good screen that’s oled and not give any headaches😓😓
@@SystemHacks thanks for replying and thanks for making such videos, not many people are aware and many tech youtubers don't make such videos Hope you can keep us updated or aware of such issues in future as well👍👍👍
Probobly yes, i bought new phone which has AMOLED display and i feel my eyes, like something in my eye muscles after looking for some minutes. And then i look whole day at my IPS pc screen and i feel nothing. I will probably return my phone and i will buy some phone which has IPS display
Eye fatigue is very complicated to be honest these settings are not helping me much that's why I skip iphones. But if they help someone little bit I will be happy
@@SystemHacks Are other manufacturers oled screens any better? I’ve only ever used iPhone. I’m currently stuck on the iPhone 11 as it’s the last of the LED models.

It's not so easy, why? Here's why, if I didn't explain everything slowly and carefully people will start blaming me what's PWM, why we need to do all these settings. I knew that because I already uploaded so many videos and that's happened every time. Does not think I want to make an 11min video instead of 4mins that brings me nothing. hi.i had the same problem with my (ipad pro 2021 12.9) it hurts my eyes so bad...im thinking about buying (apple ipad 10th 2022) its screen is Liquid Retina IPS LCD...can you help me?you think its a good idea to buy it or i should think about older verions like (iPad 9 2021)?
@@alisafavi5346hi, I have exact same iPad Pro M1 2021, but I have 11” version of it. It very comfortable for my eye, and I use my iPad like 10-12 hours per day sometime with no problems.. I think 11” and 12.9” have different screens. Maybe you should try 11” version
I don't know but Chinese brands push new trend by decreasing pwm of the screen so I hope everyone will follow. I'm currently using OnePlus 12 and I'm ok
Of course it won't remove PWM totally. You can resolve hardware problem with software so easy. Keep in mind problem with eyes is not always PWM, there's something called Temporal dithering

Yes 👍
Huawei phones reduce flickering screen with 1330 hz high frequency pwm dimming
What about replacing iPhone screen for a lcd??????
I’d rather use an LCD than have the screen in yellow colors or dark…apple needs to fix it
but there isn't any phone with good specs available with a lcd
I tried an iphone SE 2022 and still had eye strain😢
@@urielreyes750TemporalDithering after ios 17.2 gives eye strain for iphone se / iphone 11.. they even ruined the lcd phones lol
I am so sensitive to blue light and flicker that I have to have deep yellow, True Tone, a bit dark and lcd screen haha
Apples fucking blind in these years they don’t know what they’re doing
Also use the zoom feature, it has a low light setting which is even better than reduce white point .
What's that can you explain
As pwm sensitive person I knew almost all tricks here but i REALY APPRECIATE summary you provided 👍👍👍
I'm just trying to help more people struggling 😞
Thanks a lot! I didn't know that reducing white point reduce the PWM. Now when i'm indoor i always turn this on!
Hope it'll help your eyes feeling better
Amoled screens actually degrade eye health over time. Just don’t buy an iPhone until they change the screens.

Glad it helped!

Search in internet for phones with true 10bit displays because they are almost missing temporal dithering

Are IPS LCD screens better for eyes ?

Yes 👍
Thank you. But this only helps a tiny bit. Temporal Dithering is still there. Stillcolor removes the issue on MacOS but not on iPhones
Sadly we can't fix the hardware issue. That's why I'm using a Chinese brand smartphone(OnePlus 12) and my eyes are happy
@@SystemHacks cool, thanks for replying! I moved to Fairphone 4. Berger than iPhone but maybe oneplus ist better
If this helps some people great. It didn’t help me one bit. Apple should do something about this. Won’t hold my breath though.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to it. I don't know what to do with my s23u anymore
Samsung have the worst PWM on the market. IPhones OWM is about 15-16%, Samsung can be 60-100%! And normal range is 0-5%.
