I feel BF25 lacks diversity. There's some different songs but a lot are from similar styles and sound similar. I always liked the variety of styles in other benidorms... But i might be surprised
It's sad to see what happened to Benidorm Fest. In 2022 Chanel, Rigoberta Bandini and Tanxugueiras competed at the same time. Now if they were not part of the Big Five they would not qualify.
Here's my favorites so far that really stood to me. Carla Frigo Celine Van Heel Daniela Blasco DeTeresa J Kbello K!ngdom Kuve Lachispa Mawot Mel Ömana Melody
I am not even gonna say if this music is good or bad or whatever. The only thing I want to point to someone else out there in Europe and the world as someone from the Iberian Peninsula is that luckely this doesn't represent at all the variety of the music from the Iberian Peninsula, not even the more "stereotipical Spanish" one. So you may like it or not, but if you're interested in any of our cultures and musics I encourage you to search for it somewhere else.
Can see a few being elevated by good live performances ngl. Since these are only audio, "Bésame" is the early fav for me with "Loca Xti" in 2nd and "Hartita de Llorar" in 3rd. But I'm intrigued by some of the others and I think it's far too early to say Spain are doomed to finish last. I don't share the pessimism in this comment section
As a Spaniard who's been looking forward to every single Benidorm Fest, this is for me the weakest one. I don't understand why the organizers always say they strive to represent diversity of sounds from around our country but this time they chose to have every song sound like at least one other song from the roster. Also, for some reason, many of them sound either like they're missing some more production or like they rushed the end after making half the song. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy listening to like, half of them, but there's nothing that stands out to me as a top 10 or even top 15 for Eurovision. Also, I honestly can't trust that this is the best that RTVE could find all things considered, but who knows, maybe artists are just losing faith in Benidorm as a show. Probably the reason why we have like three people coming from TikTok this year, if I remember correctly. Anyway, hopefully the live performances prove me wrong but I'm keeping my expectations low
Overall all of the songs here are... good, there are only a few great songs tho. Everything here feels a little bit samey, which I guess is why I don't really have a favourite yet? Also y'all don't hate me cuz I've seen it be hyped up but I'm not so sure about Lachispa's song. I might just need to have a few more listens but the song is very stop-startish to me, and when we hit a high point, it all just kinda sounds like 5 layers of music slapped on top of each other 😭😭, I fear it might turn into this year's Mi Familia for me, the song that everyone but me seems to adore
@@sergiomontessuarez it was the worst song last year. And the worst Spanish entry ever... And the performance was absolutely awful (same with UK and Finland)
@@sergiomontessuarez ofc you don't, because you're from Spain xD And what with the televote and the juries? The televote gave it only 11 points and the juries placed it in the bottom 5 as well
What happened to Benidorm Fest? None of the songs look competitive and while a few stand out as potentional winners of the national final none of them seem like they could make it out of the bottom 3 at Eurovision this year. Also they sound smiliar to each other. This is lacking the diversity of 2022 and 2023.
Um... nothing really stands out. Just the generic pop songs VIP is probably my favourite. I hope he wins! I need a revenge for Agoney and Jorge González 😁 Pls Spain, don't mess up with the choice again and choose right now
V.I.P may be the most generic song here in my opinion 😂 you can listen to that type of music everywhere on the radio or in many Spotify playlists. Celine, Lucas, DeTeresa and Lachispa are the only ones who bring something more distinctive or unique
@@sergiomontessuarez sorry, what? 💀 Are you kidding me? V.I.P. is the only song that sounds kinda different and unique. And the others you mentioned are way more generic 😂 Especially Celine and Lucas. We've heard that kind of songs from Spain a lot of times before. DeTeresa may be distinctive, but boring for me. I don’t know if you have ever heard of Celia Cruz, but this song reminded me of her instantly. Lucas’ entry may not be anything new, but if it’s well sung and performed, I see it having potential with the juries especially. And “Hartita de llorar” sounds nothing like “Eaea” to me. The only thing they share is the flamenco root, but the two songs develop in a very different way each
@@sergiomontessuarezso what? SloMo and Zorra were also generic and sounded like typical radio songs. But Chanel still got 3rd place. Exactly, La Casa sounds like a typical Latino pop song, which isn't really that new actually. And I don't like that type of music at all. Hartita De Llolar just unlistenable for me at all. @@esckrystianochman there’s no such thing as “typical Latino song”. Hispanic countries have a more varied and richer culture than what you think. There are about 20 countries with Spanish as official language and not all of them share the same cultural identity or expressions. But we can’t see that in Eurovision since the vast majority of those countries are not in Europe. The fact that you don’t like a song does not mean that it can’t do well or be liked by other people

@mackhill8851 it’s a very difficult song to pull off (or that’s what have come to my mind while I was listening to it at least). I hope it doesn’t get wrecked live as “Mi familia”… Lachispa used to do backing vocals for Rosalía, so I hope her experience helps her deliver the song
