Turn a Picture into Puzzle Pieces in PowerPoint

  • If you want to create a puzzle piece image out of an existing image, you'd think it was something that could only be done in Photoshop or pay someone to do. With most versions of PowerPoint, this can be done with just a few steps. You can event animate the pieces with the morph command (but this would take Microsoft 365 subscription or PPT 2019).
    Later on in this video I'll show the animation effect using that morph feature. If you don't have the current versions of PPT, you can do this with the animations command, but it'll just take more work (that won't be covered in this video, but subscribe and check out my other animations vid on th-cam.com/users/doughexcel?s.... As a bonus near the end of the vid, making an image out of other shapes will be covered so check it out.

    An excellent video. You explain everything with admirable clarity. I Loved your perfect step-by-step explanation. You are a very good teacher.
    I am just blown away by the tutorial that you presented to use the PowerPoint with a similar optical system for my other projects.
    In this context, I have three questions: You explain the whole tutorial with squares shapes.
    -Can we manipulate-change this shape from full squares to curved lines or abstract looking?
    -Can we repeat this action for a lot of pieces, eg 2000?
    -If we have one shape or several shapes, can I automatically generate puzzles for the whole picture I want to make the puzzle?
    Thanks for any suggestions or advice!

    • @DougHExcel
      @DougHExcel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can manipulate the shape by click it go to Shape Format>Edit Shape. Repeating this for a large number of piece will be quite a daunting task though it can be done depending on how much time you have 😉.

      I solved it by separating the pieces (making them smaller all at the same time) and making a bit bigger the pic I wanted to use. I hope that solves it for you too.

    I have PowerPoint 2019 and am not seeing shape format in my toolbar. Any idea to to find that?

    • @DougHExcel
      @DougHExcel  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When clicking on a shape the "shape format" contextual menu comes up. If it's not a "shape" and click on another element like an image, it would have a different contextual menu like "Picture format"
